Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. If i were to use this lens on a DX format camera, would there be a difference in quality than by using a lens that is already in Dx format?

A: FX and DX format lenses will function identically on a DX camera body. In terms of quality, that really depends on a lens by lens comparison. That being said, the AF-S 70-300mm lens does have better optical quality than the two DX telephoto zoom lenses Nikon makes.

Q: 2. Would the pockets fit 4 Cheetahstands C10?

A: Yes. The following case will support Cheetah stand C10 units.

Q: 3. I guess my question is very hard to answer( keep the 500mm or purchase the 600mm if price did not matter) Lets talk about birding @ 500ft or so, now both lenses provide quality images but as owners personal point of view would you stay with the lighter 500mm tripod mounted or move up to the heavier 600mm also tripod mounted? Do you feel that in your opinion the 500mm has an edge over the 600mm or not?

A: As I had said in a previous answer: I feel no need to buy to 600. It is very heavy, eliminating any possibility of hand-held shots. I get good IQ with the 500 with 1.4x and 1.7x teleconverters. The cost of the 600 would be very extravagant when added to the cost of the 500.I went through this process in December of last year, I chose the 500 over the 600.

Q: 4. Why won't the autofocus work on this lens when it's attached to my D3200?

A: Please email us directly at photo@a href= http://bhphoto.com target= _blank bhphoto.com/a with more information so we can best assist you with your inquiry.

Q: 5. Is this suitable for a D200 ?

A: As near as I can tell from this description, yes. Unlike regular AF lenses these lenses have a built-in focus motor and can be used on any camera body whether the body has a focus motor or not. Required for Autofocus operation with the D5300, D5200, D5100, D5000, D3300, D3200, D3100, D3000, D60, D40X, and D40. So the autofocus won't work on a D200.

Q: 6. Will this lens work on the Nikon D90 camera

A: The Nikon AF-S 70-300mm lens is fully compatible with the Nikon D90.

Q: 7. Can this work on a nikon fm10?

A: No, unfortunately not. The lens in question does not have an aperture ring to change the f stops with this manual camera. Furthermore the fm10 does not have any electronic lens mount contacts to engage the VR system.

Q: 8. is this lens better than the tamron sp 70-300mm di vc usd f/4-5.6?

A: I have never used the Tamron, but I love my Nikkor. I shoot soccer games for my kids teams and get great results. I read a ton of reviews and the consensus was it was a great value, and I agree.

Q: 9. By using a teleconverter 1.4x or 2x on such a big lens have you found the image quality to suffer any?

A: WITH THE TC-20-E-III? DEFINITELY YES!!!! SOFTENS THE IMAGE and COLOR CONTRAST!!WITH THE TC-14-E-II IT IS EXCELLENT!!!!! AUTO FOCUS IS GOOD TO F8 IN POOR LIGHT ON MY D4S AND GOOD AT f/11 in the afternoon!!! BUY A TC-14-E-III,ASPHERICAL ELEMENT!!! NEWER TECHNOLOGY,AND BE HAPPY!!!

Q: 10. Where was this lens made?

A: According to the information we have, our current inventory's Country of Origin is Thailand. Please be aware this can change over the product's production life without notice.

[0.2 lb] The LensCoat Gimbal Pouch is generously-sized for the Magnus GH-M1 Gimbal Mount. The Magnus is 8.3 X 8.3 inches and there is at least 1 inch of extra clearance in the Pouch. For larger gimbals like the Wimberley or Oben the fit will obviously be tighter. The stitching looks strong and the draw string opening is reinforced, so this cover should enjoy a long life.

[0.2 lb] I had my gimbal in a simple pouch with no protection-NOW I have a nice soft neoprene bag for protecting the gimbal. And the button lock is perfect for quick access.

[Empty] The pouch easily slides over the LensCoat Gimbal protecting its odd shape from bumps, scratches, and scrapes. I actually kept some of the bubble wrap that Gimbal came wrapped in. I wrap the Gimbal with that and then easily slide it into the pouch so it is well protected.

[Drawstring] Bought this gimbal pouch to store my new Oben GH-30 Gimbal Head. Great fit and provides some protection when stored. Exactly what I wanted. I own several LensCoat products- they do not disappoint - plus made in USA!

[Drawstring] Well, maybe not nimble, but safe. My Oben gimbal fits in the pouch when it's not on a tripod. My wife could make me a pouch for cheaper, but she's busy and it's easier to get one from B&H.
