The XK-24 Key Virtual COM Keypad from X-Keys features 24 dedicated keys in a compact footprint with a serial/USB connection to your computer. Q: 1. What kind of heat does this tolerate if I should use it on a flood lamp?

A: I can't say for sure exactly what temperature the nylon will tolerate. I use it with Speedlights only, so there is never any heat buildup.

A: No, the Apple Magic Keyboard with Touch ID and Numeric Keypad and Magic Trackpad Kit (Black) does not feature illuminated keys.

A: The Magic Keyboard has a built-in battery. When the battery is running low, you can recharge it with the included Lightning to USB cable.

Q: 7. Any instructions on how to assemble this completely?

A: The instructions are included and easy to follow. Be careful with the aluminium flash shoe that comes with the kit as it is conductive and may damage your flash

Q: 8. Any problems connecting this to a mbp retina 2017? My 2015 apple usb keyboard won't connect via a usb hub. I had to use a usb 3 to usb c adaptor to connect to my Micar usb hub.

A: Our Mid 2017 MBP has to be connected using an adaptor (provided) as the keyboard only has a USB type A connector. But the adaptor to Lightning allows use of any of the four ports for the keyboard connection. I ended up using all four ports on the MBP as follows:(1) Power, (2) Wired mouse, (3) Superdrive, and finally (4) a USB-C VGA Multiport Adapter to add an external display plus a USB and a USB-C charging port. My keyboard is connected to a hub off a USB-B hub for keyboard and printer connections. Nary a problem.PS: The mouse is a direct connect making it easier to transport (it is a two button mouse making life easier and goes on the road whereas the keyboard does not).

Q: 9. Does it come with a stand?

A: Yes, but you have to buy the kit. Looks like it's selling for about $120. You get the softbox, umbrella mount and stand.

Q: 10. I'm planning to use this soft box with Yongnuo YN568ex on top of YN622n, just wondering if it will fit on the bracket?

A: Only experience I have is with Canon 600 EXRT speedlites. It worked fine with those.

[1 lb] I found out about these while I was stuck at home after an operation. I though they would be amazing for a civil engineering company using CAD software. They quickly allowed our engineers to switch between tools in AutoCAD & in Microstation. I started using these at home for photo editing allowing me to run several command or switch tools with one button press. I have now started using it in my new job as a system administrator for a hospital. It allows me to quickly launch programs and execute repetitive commands quickly. The amazing software they are bundled with allows it to be application aware so while in Outlook a button might do one function in another Chrome it can do something completely different. Add to that layers. These devices have a blue layer and a red layer. So the first button can do one thing on one layer and something else on another layer. There is one down side. The MacroWorks software doesn't work in Linux. So at home is a bit more restrictive as to what it can do. You can still use it, but you have to program it in windows and it's no longer application aware. There are still layers so you essentially get 48 keys to program. I know own 3 of these and I have a feeling my wife and son will be purchasing their own. 5

[72 g] This thing just works! Right out of the box we had it set up and programmed in a few minutes. Using it to bring up video grabs in a hurry during hockey games... saves us a lot of time and means anyone can drive the system without needing to know their way around the mixing software. We're in Australia and we received it from the US in three days. Very impressed! 5

[1 lb] So easy to program. I downloaded the software and set this baby up within minutes to use to replicate just the arrows of a USB keyboard. I plan on getting another differently shaped model too. The company was very user-friendly and it is all very intuitive to setup. 5

[USB-A ] I use it with the free online teleprompter at cueprompter.com. I programmed one pedal to start and stop, another pedal to slow down, and the third pedal to speed up. Just wish it had a fourth pedal to return the script to the top of the page.The foot pedal means that i can be a lot more authentic and natural when reading the script unlike those people you see who just stare at the camera and talk at exactly the same pace for half an hour. 5
