[1] I use these sandbags primarily to weigh down my tripod so it doesn't lift up off the riser. I use slingshot ammo or ball bearings to fill the bags. Works well. I haven't had a camera fall out of a window, yet...

[Nylon] I fill heavy duty plastic freezer bags with 12 pounds sand and slide them into these. These are a must for weighting light stands outdoors, if there is any breeze at all. And, I use them as a safety precaution on light stands indoors. I also use them for weighting the leading edge of seamless background paper, and marking extension cords that are snaking across the studio floor. I have found them handy when trying to counterbalance a large umbrella, or a strobe on a boom arm. The bright orange color is a positive feature. People see them.

[Hook & Loop] I filled (self-provided) zip-lock bags with shot, and then sealed 'em in the Impact Saddle bags. No fear of shot escaping (and the zip-locks should prevent rust in cast the bag gets wet). You can load these with more than 5 lbs of shot (mine are about 6.5 lb each... I have no fear of the zippers failing. Excellent product

[0.54 lb] Great to buy it like this as its empty so its easy to transport when you buy it and if you're relocatiing. it also encourages you to go to the beach to fill it up - which has got to be good! Also you can control how heavy you make it. You dont have to fill it up completely!
