Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is it made in Italy or China?

A: Country of origin is China

Q: 2. The specs state that the center column is "removable". Is it also reversible? Thanks!

A: We are not aware of the center column being reversible.

Q: 3. Are the ball head components metal or plastic?

A: The Ball Head included with the Benro Tripster Travel Tripod (1 Series, Black, Aluminum) is made of mostly metal with some plastic and rubber parts.

Q: 4. What color are the metal parts of the tripod and the ball head ?

A: The tripod and head are black and the bolts are chrome.

Q: 5. Can this boom be adapted to support 8lbs lighting gear (monolight, 3' octa softbox+grid) 5/8 end spigot? Max horizontal load?

A: No, the E-Image Telescoping Carbon Fiber Microphone Boompole is not able to support an 8 lb. load of lighting gear.

Q: 6. Does the head have a friction adjustment

A: Yes, a friction control knob is available for making precise adjustments.

Q: 7. Which country is this made in?

A: This tripod is manufactured in China.

Q: 8. Would this tripod securely hold a d810 with a 24-70 f2.8?

A: Yes, it has a load capacity of 26lbs, although shooting vertically would be a bit of a trickier proposition. I don't think it would balance well, in which case an L bracket would be ideal.

Q: 9. How is the drag control handled? with a separate knob?

A: It has an independant drag or friction cotrol "An independent pan lock is offered for easy movement along a single axis and a friction control knob is also available for making precise adjustments."

Q: 10. Does this come with removable foot spikes?

A: Interesting split in the answers. Mine came with spikes that can replace the rubber feet, which are easy to screw off. B&H should check with the manufacturer to see what is currently supplied with this model.

[5/8"-27 Male] If you're using a wireless receiver solution, look no further. This little guy fits in a carry-on no problem, is lightweight and durable. The holder is actually nicer than it appears in photos. And if you don't have to fumble with a wrap-around XLR cable, you're in great shape for not too much money. Boom.

[2.135 lb] Perfect for my mini-location kit which lives in a Pelican 1520. Solid construction and top-quality items with no shortcuts in performance. I really love each of these items for their minimal footprint and exceptional build quality.
The only negative I can offer is to mirror others comments, the foam on the boom holder is very easy to dislodge. I'm not even sure you need it, but it seems for the price they could figure something out.
Definitely recommended if you need a super small boom rig.

[5] Worked with this guy on a TV series and a feature film now. Nice and light and the tightening locks always worked

[5/8"-27 Male] This is fantastic. I bought it just before a major production at an event where we'd be filming a bunch of individuals and with covid we wanted to mic them in a non-contact way. Very light but good build quality. Of course I'd like the XLR stuff on the inside but the weight saving and packability is wonderful and it will be in my run bag from now on.

[5] I own the The 8.5' 4-Section Telescoping Carbon Fiber Microphone Boompole. I really like the comfy foam to keep your hands warm and protect against sweating to make it easier to grab and handle. It works really well. I also like the easy way to screw in and out to extend and shorten the pole. I also like how if you need to change the end for a different type of screw adaptor. I also like the protective bag for the pole. It is nicely made with some pockets. I would recommend this boom pole. It's nicely made.

[2.135 lb] I used this E-Image Carbon Boompole recently for a weekend shoot. I found it to be strong and light weight, and the cushioned grip was appreciated by my hands. The joints require an easy twist, a little less than a third of turn to free each section.
The E-Image Boompole felt like a natural extension of my body at all lengths. When fully extended to 11.5' there was almost no flex using an Okatava MK 102 (MJ modified) with a Rycote shock mount & Rycote BBG. For those that wish to adapt it to an internal cable, I cannot report on this conversion but it is possible. I wrapped my cable around the pole and it worked fine. I did not detect any handling noise.
It looks and feels like it's built to last and it came with the bonus of an excellent case for protection. In my book this pole is an excellent value for the money and I highly recommended it.

[Clamp Lever] So far this is my favorite setup for run and gun audio. We use this with a small Matthews reverse stand and the Deity D3 pro. It’s great for setting up and breaking down quickly. This all fits great in our Think Tank Video Workhorse bag.

[Clamp Lever] I am so glad I went for the longer boom! It is light, super long and easy to use. I love how compact for traveling. And the case is great to keep it clean and protected. Very happy.
