Designed for the digital cinema market, the Leitz Cine 50mm T2.0 Summicron-C PL Mount Lens(C for cinema) features a stainless steel PL mount and provides a smaller, lighter, albeit slower option to the renowned Summilux-C series of lenses. The 50mm focal length is considered a normal lens, roughly approximating the perspective of human vision. The small size of the lens makes it suitable not only for regular production but also for stabilized rigs, aerial cinematography, and stereoscopic 3D capture. Projecting a useable image circle of 36mm in diameter, it is compatible with a variety of cameras that have sensors that are slightly larger than Super 35. The T2.0 maximum aperture is consistent among the range, so there is no concern about exposure variations when cutting between Summicron-C lenses. Each lens incorporates geared focus and iris control rings, which share the same position, so swapping lenses can be done without having to adjust your follow focus or lens control system.

The lens features an internal focus design, which means a non-rotating front perfect for clip-on matte boxes. A generous number of focus marks are distributed along the dual focus scales, and the 300° of focus rotation provides for accurate focus pulling. The 95mm diameter front is standard across all Summicron-C lenses, and, except for the 15mm and 135mm, they feature similar weight and the same length.

The Summicron-C lenses have an image circle of 36mm, which is more than generous enough to cover the sensors of many popular cameras, including the 6K Red Dragon Sensor, without vignetting. For reference, the image circle requirement for Super 35 is approximately 28mm.

The lens is telecentric, which helps reduce illumination fall-off from light hitting the sensor at a sever angle outside of the image circle.

The modern lens design as well as the cine manufacturing process and tight tolerances ensure low distortion, high resolution and excellent color rendition. Although made using spherical elements only, the Summicron-C lenses provide a sharp image with a naturalistic Bokeh.

The 300° of focus rotation provide for extremely accurate focus marks and focus pulls.

Consistent front diameter and shared focus and iris ring position from lens-to-lens in the series allow for faster lens changes requiring less adjustment of matte boxes and lens accessories.

[T22] I've used ROKINON lenses which were quite above average. The Sirui anamorphic lens was even better. I just finished my first feature using the Sirui. Now that I just used this Meike FF on my Bmpcc4k for my trailer.... I am just blown away by the depth of field, bokeh and color depth of this lens. The quality, the weight, the build quality is on par to a much more expensive cine lens. This is the range of a 5k plus cine lens. I'm planning on buying the other focal lengths as well

[4.4 lb] Bought this for my Sony FX3, and it looks amazing for the price. I plan on buying the entire set of Spectrums. Solid lens, looks great and feels quality in build as well.

[Imperial] I had some hesitation in purchasing this lens. In this case you get more than what you paid for. The build quality and optics are fantastic at this price point. Sharp wide open and tack sharp at 2.8. Nearly zero focus breathing. A good long, smooth throw on the focus. Smooth aperture adjustment. The lens was smaller than expected, which is perfect for mounting on my Sigma FP L rig.

[Super35/APS-C] I really love this lens. It just stays on the Ursa permanently. Many great directors use the 50mm as a standard (I'm thinking of Ozu), and I've personally always found the 50mm the most versatile focal length. And this lens is superb. I used the Rokinon lenses before this, which I appreciated, but this lens has more character. I really like the long throw, the build quality, and just the creamy look of this lens.

[36.0 mm] Such a lovely lens. I compared it directly with a Zeiss CP.2 50mm I'd been using over the years, and the difference in purple fringing at high contrast points was jaw dropping. The Zeiss had a quite a fair bit of fringing, while there was no fringing whatsoever with the SLR Magic APO. This is a true, legit APO lens. A nice surprise considering how loose many manufacturers are with the 'APO' moniker. The lens has a really lovely, cinematic rendering. Finds a nice balance between the hyper crisp, clinical look of modern lenses and the flattering character of a classic cinema lens. Just the slightest hint of veiling flare when wide open. Incredibly clean, smooth bokeh thanks to the spherical optics (no aspherical elements), and 13 aperture blades with rounded edges. Very little focus breathing. Adapting these lenses to EF is crazy fast and easy with SLR Magic's optional matching PL-EF adapter. It's quite compact for a cine lens, however it is very dense due to the amount of glass. The only items I can fault it on are a rather pedestrian minimum focussing distance of 2', and a fair amount of vignetting when shooting wide open on vista vision/full frame (don't notice any real vignetting when shooting 135/APS-C). Unlike the CP.2's, CP.3's, Xeen's, Sigma Cine, and Canon Cine lenses (which are almost completely photo optics rehoused in cine bodies), these were designed for cine use from the optical design on up.

[Super35/APS-C] I recently purchased the 7artisans Photoelectric 35mm T2.0 Spectrum Prime Cine Lens for my L Mount camera, and I couldn't be more impressed. This lens truly delivers exceptional quality at an unbeatable price point.

First and foremost, the image quality is outstanding. The sharpness and clarity it provides are remarkable, capturing every detail with precision. Whether I'm shooting landscapes, portraits, or close-up shots, the results are consistently stunning. The T2.0 aperture also allows for beautiful bokeh, adding a professional touch to my videos.

What sets this lens apart is its cine lens design. The focus and aperture rings are smooth and well-damped, offering precise control for cinematic effects. The build quality is impressive, with a robust construction that feels durable yet lightweight, perfect for long shooting sessions.

Another highlight is its versatility. The 35mm focal length is ideal for a wide range of shooting scenarios, making it a go-to lens for both beginners and experienced videographers alike. Whether I'm shooting in low light conditions or bright outdoor settings, this lens performs admirably every time.

Moreover, the L Mount compatibility ensures seamless integration with my camera system, allowing for effortless use and quick setup. It's evident that 7artisans has crafted a lens that not only meets but exceeds the expectations of filmmakers.

In conclusion, the 7artisans Photoelectric 35mm T2.0 Spectrum Prime Cine Lens is a fantastic investment for anyone looking to elevate their videography game without breaking the bank. With its exceptional quality, cine lens design, and unbeatable value for money, it's a must-have addition to any gear bag. Highly recommended!

[Super35/APS-C] I have all 3 of the available PL mount versions of these lenses. I used on 2 proffesional shoots and WOW WOW WOW - I still cant get over the IQ for the price but with only 1 gripe---lets get out of way-- (no focus marks on AC side) not a big deal using FF on op side typically or remote FF if I have an AC so its not really an issue) If you are looking here you like consider the DZO Vespid line. TRUE they have a full set. However they have a very vintage look with oval bokeh and bad CA(on a few focal lengths) Those are smaller lighter and MARGNIALLY sharper true) however these lens have very little CA very little if any breathing depending on FL- propper full 330 rotation on focus, they are bigger but still small- However dont look SILLY on my RED like the Vespids do. I cant say this enough MEIKE hit a homerun here and I have ZERO regrets. Just wish the whole set was already available (24mm coming end of NOV 21) ---you cant go wrong here.
