Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. I've used 4 persons simultaneously with no problem. My question is, is it 16 or 24bit?

A: The Comica Audio BOOMX-U does not have a recording function, so no analog to digital conversion occurs. As such, the bitrate of your recording would be determined by your recording device.

Q: 2. Can I get extra receivers?

A: Yes you can use additional Nady PEM-RX receivers but these are not available standalone at B&H.

Q: 3. can you use other microphones with these like a countryman b3 with non locking 3.5mm?

A: Yes, you can upgrade to any Lav (not wired for Sony) wih a 3.5mm connector.

Q: 4. Is the BoomX-U better than BoomX-D?

A: The two systems are similar in that both are wireless microphone systems, but each operates in a different manner. Determining which system is better will depend on your specific needs and the types of strong wireless audio frequencies that are already in use within the location where the system will be used often. The BoomX-U is an analog wireless system which operates within the UHF frequency band between 568 to 579 MHz and offers 48 frequencies to choose from to avoid wireless signal interference. It has an operating range of up to 394'. The built-in rechargeable batteries for the UHF system provide up to 6 hours of operation. The BoomX-D is a digital wireless system which operates within the 2.4 GHz band (2400 to 2483.5 MHz) above the range of radio and TV, but within the range of Wi-Fi signal. Only one other wireless BoomX-D can be used at the same time. It has an operating range of up to 164' and its built-in rechargeable batteries provide up to 5 hours of operation. The advantage of a 2.4 GHz systems is that they can be used in most countries around the world while regulations for UHF frequencies vary. Within the US, the UHF system offers more frequencies to switch between, the ability to use more of the same wireless mic systems, and a longer operating distance between the transmitter and receiver. Please contact us by phone or through live chat if you have additional questions or if you would like further assistance.

Q: 5. When constant power is supplied t the receiver will that generate static noise?

A: As long as the power source is stable, the Comica Audio BoomX-U QUA Ultracompact 4-Person Wireless Microphone System should not have any noise added to the system.

Q: 6. Can I plug in a Shure PG58 using an appropriate 3.5mm to XLR cable to the Tx unit in place of the lav mic?

A: The PG58 is a wireless microphone that is only compatible with the Shure BLX wirelsss receiver.

Q: 7. Can you confirm the channels/frequencies? I need Ch D15/D16 (915.30 and 916.80).

A: Since the Nady Dual Channel Digital Handheld/Lapel/Headset Bodypack Wireless System is available by special order only, you can place the order by phone or contact us through live chat and specify the frequencies that you need so we can order it for you.

Q: 8. Could this be used as an input and output of an audio interface to a macbook pro for streaming?

A: This would connect to the input of your interface and work to transmit the microphone audio while streaming. There would be no way to monitor wirelessy.

Q: 9. Can I use more than 1 hand held mic at a time, and if so, how many?

A: This Comica Audio CVM-WM100 PLUS-HTX Wireless Cardioid Handheld Transmitter (568 to 591 MHz) is intended for use with the the CVM-WM100 PLUS Wireless Receiver like the one included with the Comica Audio CVM-WM100 PLUS 2-Person Camera-Mount Wireless Omni Lavalier Microphone System (B&H # COMWM100PLUS). We do not have the receiver available separately, but you can use two transmitters with the receiver in the CVM-WM100 PLUS System which can either be the wireless bodypack transmitters that are included with the system or the handheld CVM-WM100 PLUS HTX, or a combination of both.

Q: 10. The lapel mic on this unit stopped working. What other microphones would work with the transmitters of this unit?

A: You may consider the Azden EX-503 Lavalier Microphone, BH #AZEX503.

[24.5 x 20 x 10"] I love this unit! 4 IEM mixes in one rack space. Easy to use. I read the other review (one star). Not sure why they would have problems or need instructions. This unit is so easy to set up and use. Five stars all the way!

[PLL synthesized] My band got a set of these a year ago, and they perform very well. I purchased this set for larger shows my mixer has 10 aux outs. Highly recommend!!

[24.5 x 20 x 10"] I've used this with my band on about 20 gigs so far. I had much lower expectations for 4 channels of IEMs at this price point. Very few dropouts, super clean sound quality. The included earbuds are crystal clear and fit really well (my custom-made earplugs fall out easier than these guys). Highly recommended!

[UHF 902-928 MHz] I'd love to recant my previous review of this product. Bought it, used once and had issues the second time with some serious feedback. After speaking with Glenn on this matter, I realized it was my own fault that resulted in feedback. Looking through the box I did not see the antenna (oops lol), disconnecting the system and having Glenn walk me through step by step I realized this very rookie mistake. Once we got it hooked up, body packs set to the same channel, and antenna hooked up as designed the system began working fantastic! Very very simple system to use. Really feel silly for that ridiculous error on my behalf lol will continue to work with CAD and Glenn for the foreseeable future! Excited to get this system on the stage!

[9.2 lb] This worked literally right out of the box. I was so excited to get it that I figured I'd hook it up and try it out before reading the instructions. I tried it out at home due to the fact that we can't engage in any public gatherings right now. I hooked it up to my computer and I was able to freely walk around the house with this strapped to my belt while I listened in on the office meeting. No interference or dropouts around the house but I don't know if that will change in a public venue. The supplied earbuds are OK but not great enough to reproduce the entire spectrum. They're fine for normal speech but if you want to hear a full band mix or even your personal music collection, the lower frequencies get distorted. So I decided to plug in my expensive set of earbuds and I was loving it!

[24.5 x 20 x 10"] Perhaps previous reviewer had a particular problem. These are outstanding. Built very well with high quality casing and antennae on transmitter and receiver. Plenty loud enough. The head phones that come with have a decent response range and are full sounding. They are not isolating IEM phones though. So you will want to get a higher end pair if you are wanting isolation.

I clocked these @ 120 ft non-line-of-sight (obstructions) range with a little hiccup. To be honest I don't know when you would need that kind of distance. So hiccup at that range to me is irrelevant. Rock solid @ 75 ft and under range.

These are worth the money. Full charge on receiver will last an easy 4 hour set with no degradation of sound, volume,or quality at lower battery levels. Band mates also using them.

[24.5 x 20 x 10"] There weren't a lot of reviews available for this, but we decided to take a chance on it anyway since the cost is not that high. It was quite easy to set up and we had them patched into our digital mixer and running right away. Set it to mono initially and so far good feedback from our singers on the clarity of the set. The limiter was definitely kicking in at the loudest points and there would be a second when the sound cuts out at that point but not long enough to throw anyone off. Tested the signal strength initially at about 20m away and it was cutting out at times. Ended up putting the base station 5m from the stage and no issues that that range. Didn't use any of the bundled ears as they were quite basic and didn't sound good. Most got their own ears and were quite happy with the results so far. Good value buy.
