The AJA 3G-AM 8-Channel AES Embedder/Disembedder XLR Cablefrom AJA 3G-AM 8-Channel AES Embedder/Disembedder XLR Cableis a triple rate 8-channel AES audio embedder/disembedder. AES audio can be embedded and disembedded simultaneously. The embedder is user selectable, on a channel pair basis, to either "pass" existing SDI input audio or embed AES input audio from the breakout cable. The ability to pass incoming ancillary data makes it possible to embed up to 16 channels of audio by cascading two units. Horizontal ancillary data (HANC) packets in compliance with SMPTE 291M can also be dropped at the input. The 3G-AM automatically detects and configures to the input video standard, and formats to a resolution of up to 2048 x 1080p. This unit includes an XLR connector AES breakout cable.

A: As long as the bus the card is connected to is capable of the bandwidth, then it should work.

A: The Decklink Quad 2 is capable of recording up to 8 3G SDI signals at one time. You would need to run 8 instances of Media Express or use 3rd party software. You would also need a proper computer capable of this level of performance.
