Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this unit transmit audio along with video ?

A: Both CONNEX and CONNEX mini do not support audio transmission along with the video transmission.

Q: 2. If I film in 4k 60p, will it still transmit a signal to the Connexx, but just downgrade the footage to 1080p? Or will it not receive a 4k 60p signal at all? Thanks

A: I also film at 4K 60p, but my camera only sends 1080p 30p over the HDMI port which the Connex can transmit.

Q: 3. Will this fit the Tilta Advance ring?

A: Yes, The Tilta advanced Ring is 30mm diameter and the Tilta Gimbal Ring Adapter for Mini V-Mount Battery Plate works with 25-30mm sizes.

Q: 4. Can two or more units be used simultaneously for multiple camera setups without interfering with each other?

A: Yes, we have been using two separate units in two different ballrooms within the same building

Q: 5. What is the maximum weight this clamp can support safely?

A: Exact weight limits have not been specified by the manufacturer. We would not recommend putting more than 1.5 or 2lb batteries on the clamp/plate, especially if mounted on the side of a gimbal handle.

Q: 6. Can amimal connex mini off display screen show on monitor?

A: Do you havedealer in thailand?

Q: 7. Would this fit onto the CineMilled PRO-Ring 14 x 14" Handlebar?

A: From what I can gather, yes this will be able to mount on the CineMilled PRO-Ring 14 x 14" Handlebar.

Q: 8. How long does the battery last, is it an internal rechargeable battery or is it replaceable & with what battery?

A: CONNEX mini does not include a battery. The power input support is 8-26v (3-6 cells batteries) and the power consumption is about 5W on the Ground unit and about 6.5W on the Air unit. The battery life time can be evaluated by dividing the full battery capacity (mAh) by the current consumption of the CONNEX units (mA).

Q: 9. How is this powered? I assume the air unit must run off a battery? If so what kind? Internal? How long will it run?

A: Hi,It ca nrun either with 7-17V power from the drone or external battery. The time it run depends on the bateery capacity. Thanks,Yoav

Q: 10. Is the Transmitter noisy when it is operating?

A: CONNEX mini does not have a fan. It does not generate any noise.

[0.1 lb] 110' of boom, 10 HD monitor in the operator cab, a Mokose HD teaching camera on a weighted boom that always points down the crane's loadline. My only issue has been finding the right batteries. I currently (haha) have two 7 AH Lipo Dakota's, wired in parallel, plus 2 10 watt PV panels, with a charge controller. My system has been in operation for almost a year, and I am putting two more togther for friends in the crane business, as it has helped me so much. Every issue I have had while getting the bugs out, ended up being battery related. The transmitter is located in a PVC junction box, along with the batteries, no crane modifications were needed (or allowed), I have about 3K in the entire system and it's worth every penny, just in stress relief by being able to SEE!

[0.1 lb] This is what you need if you would like to power up your Connex Transmitter, right from any P-Tap, or like me, directly from the DJI Ronin P-Tap, that is right under the camera. So you don't have a lot of unnecessary wire length. Used it for 3 days in a row at a large venue, and got no problem at all.

[0.1 lb] Perfect replacement antenna for both Connex unit. I was tired of using the wired antenna that came with the original kit, so I bought those so I could have rigid antenna on the transmitter, and that still gives me 3 backup antenna for either receiver or transmitter. Work as well as original.

[0.1 lb] I have purchased many things from Camera Motion Research so this is a product review and a vendor review. I have never had anything from them that does not exceed my expectations in quality in reliability -- and I am very picky. They make good high quality fit like a glove stuff. The stuff that makes other things usable. For instance, the Connex Mini is, IMHO, the best HD Video transmitter (for HD Video Camera or Drone use) that exists. What makes the Connex Mini mount, draw power, stay protected, etc., is Camera Motion Research! Lastly, the tech support is incredible. They responded to my email on a minor question in less than 24 hours and called me too!

[0.1 lb] The transmitter is so small and lightweight that it can be installed directly on the gimbal with its two antennas. Power is supplied by the battery of the gimbal, so no cable connects the nacelle and the camera to the drone, allowing a total freedom of movement, with or without the drone.

[0.1 lb] Wow ! This product is AWESOME !!! If you are looking for wireless HD video feed, this is what you need ! I've been using the Boxx Meridian for 5 years now, and it did cost around 10K at the time, and now, with the Connex at around 1.2K; I'm getting the same result, even better !!! And it is so small compare to Meridian or event Teradek !!!!! OK, you don't get SDI connector and a downscaler like the Meridian... maybe... but depending on your gig, this pretty toy here is worth all is penny if you can work around without SDI. I did use it for 3 days in a row, non stop at a large convention, with both Boxx Meridian and Connex side by side. And both were giving me the same great reliable signal, without dropout the all time... And because Boxx Meridian is an older model, it didn't support 1080P60, while the Connex did ! I did have some dropout with the Connex while going outside the ballroom with a concrete wall in between the receiver and the transmitter, while the Boxx Meridian didn't have any dropout at the same spot... (at the price range of the Meridian, well, you expect it to be better in some ways, and it is !) But otherwise, we were transmitting both live feed to giant screen, and the Connex did pass the test easily for me ! Love it, and I'll by some more soon ! So, if SDI is not an issue for you, buy it !!!

[0.1 lb] Great, cheap cable that lets you use lipos to power the ground station. This is super useful if you have a MOVI, as the Freefly Movi batteries use a JST connector and can power your ground station as well.
