[1.205 lb] I am a DP and own a rental house. I love that you can set the camera down and it stands up right. I purchased the v mount plate and you can now go straight from hh to tripod. Everything is quickly adjustable on this rig. I really like it. Its a great rig. The only con I have is that SHAPE has made a great product but its build quality is still not as good as Zuccuto. But still very good. The handle extension is great as well. You can finally adjust it without a screwdriver. Sony should have done better than that.

[1.205 lb] Bought this after reading a few reviews about the Anton Bauer one I was going to get because people had problems with the Anton. This works great, plugged it in and bolted it on. I use my Anton Bauer Dionic batteries on it which helps with rear weight on the FS7. The Sony rear attachment was too expensive for me at the time so this works nice if you want to use gold mount batteries.

[Gold Mount] A solid distribution box for my FX9. My only wish is that it would somehow relay voltage levels to the camera, but this seems to be a problem that affects all battery backs for the FX9 that utilize the barrel connector. Otherwise, fantastic piece of gear.

[1] First of all, I have to say, this works really well. Its well designed and works quite well.

The item is a bit expensive, and so when you get it in the mail you quickly realize what youre paying for is the engineering, research, and prototyping it must have taken to build this item. The actual item is well built, but you realize that in material cost, its not quite worth what youre paying.

However, where the product shines is in filling out the camera kit for anyone who does interview work and then needs to switch to hand-held for b-roll or for getting a quick interview on the fly. For indie films, this is a great tool as well since you can quickly get your camera up and running with a dual handle set-up.

Ive always been concerned about the Zacuto system because it originally didnt have this piece. There was no dual-Arri rosette with the base plate. I did go with Zacuto though due to its great balance and build quality. However, I was always looking back and forth to other competitors.

Recently, on a shoot, I had to go hand-held real quick, and I remember thinking it may be time to switch to a different system. Fortunately, I found this out, and it has been great ever since. The item works really well - its quite intuitive, and it can be customized to fit in different positions.

Ideally, to have it work well, youd have a 1st AC or an assistant of some kind to get it balanced perfectly. However, you can of course just set-up it up by yourself. It goes pretty quick. An assistant would just help make the flow a little faster by allowing you to customize how you want to hold the dual grips.

I would highly recommend this. The tornado grip never seemed like the solution I was looking for. Fortunately, this seems to be it.

[Gold Mount] There seem to be a myriad of ways to power the FS7. You have the stock Sony batteries, V-Mount, the Sony extension unit, various plate options and this guy. It fits snugly to the camera and looks like it belongs on there. It is well designed and not too heavy. It would be nice if it was completely sealed from the elements, but you would really need to be in a sketchy environment to get anything into it- a small portion of the back is not sealed. The only downside is that it won't transmit time remaining on your battery to the camera as hours and minutes, It sends that info as volts, since it uses the DC input on the back of the camera for power.

[1.205 lb] After looking and trying few other V-lock backs for my camera, I decided with this one. More money then competition, but IMHO way better design and versatility. Main decision was proper design of the foot that connects to the FS7 top rear part where the camera's multi-pin plug is hidden under the plastic cover. Movcam design protects this area properly away from elements, unlike other cheaper solution where this area stays open on both sides due to bad design. Solid build, nice finish. Once mounted, looks like it came with the camera...

[Gold Mount] Works great. Unlike what is described in an earlier review, the adapter automatically switch from battery to external power when a 12V power source is plugged into the 4-pin XLR. If the 4-pin XLR is disconnected, then the camera reverts automatically to battery power. There is no power interruption at all.

[1.205 lb] Powering my EVA1 camera, with plenty of D-tap outlets for any accessories: wireless focus, wireless video, monitor. This is a great hub and just like all Wooden Camera products, really well made.
