Flexible telephoto zoom is designed for APS-C-format Fujifilm X-mount mirrorless cameras and offers a 76-213mm equivalent focal length range.

Constant f/2.8 maximum aperture offers consistent performance throughout the zoom range and excels when working in difficult lighting conditions.

Five extra-low dispersion elements and one Super ED element are used to greatly reduce color fringing and chromatic aberrations in order to produce high clarity and color fidelity throughout the zoom range.

Nano-GI (Gradient Index) coating has been applied to lens elements and alters the refractive index between the glass and air in order to better suppress lens flare and ghosting for diagonal incident light.

An HT-EBC (High Transmittance Electron Beam Coating) coating has been applied to the entire surface of each element for controlling ghosting and flare for greater contrast and color accuracy.

A Triple Linear Motor autofocus system delivers smooth, near-silent performance that is especially beneficial to video applications and when working in noise-sensitive areas.

Complemented by an enhanced gyro sensor and unique series of algorithms, the optical stabilization system minimizes the appearance of camera shake to enable sharper imaging when working with longer focal lengths or slower shutter speeds.

The lens body incorporates 20 distinct weather seals to protect against dust and moisture, and to enable worry-free use in inclement conditions and freezing temperatures as low as 14°F.

Rounded seven-blade diaphragm contribute to a pleasing out-of-focus quality to benefit the use of selective focus and shallow depth of field techniques.

A tripod collar is included for well-balanced mounting and shooting when working from a tripod or monopod.

Compatible with optional XF 1.4x TC WR and XF 2x TC WR teleconverters.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. My new50-140mm lens rattles inside when turned upside down. Is this normal?

A: Yes. Several of the lenses have components that float a bit until power is turned on. It's not a defect and doesn't hurt the lens in any way.

Q: 2. Is there a warranty?

A: Yes, the FUJIFILM XF 50-140mm f/2.8 R LM OIS WR Lens comes with a Limited 1-Year Manufacturer Warranty.

Q: 3. I recently purchased this lens from B&H and now need a quick-release plate for it that will work with my Really Right Stuff tripod setup (RRS TQC-14 tripod with BH-30 LR ball head and B2-40 LR quick release clamp). Suggestions? Thanks!

A: Really Right Stuff L97L multi use plate

Q: 4. Does this lens come with a hood?

A: yes it does

Q: 5. Does anyone know which way the focus works on the XF lenses? Does it pull closer to the right like canon lenses or is it the opposite like Nikon, and some Sony lenses?

A: You rotate the lens' focusing ring to the left to reduce the focus distance, and rotate the focusing ring to the right to increase the focus distance out to infinity. However, you may go into the menu and go to BUTTON/DIAL SETTING FOCUS RING to reverse the direction of rotation of the focus ring.

Q: 6. I just got this lens and I'm noticing it losing focus when zooming, is this a setting I need to change in camera or is it the nature of the lens?

A: This is normal for a still photography lens. Only very high end cinema lenses are truly parfocal (retain focus across zoom range).

Q: 7. does it work with gh5 directly attached or it requires to purchase an adapter for that?

A: It's a Fujifilm XF mount lens designed for any Fujifilm X series camera. It would need an adaptor for other cameras.

Q: 8. Is this lens compatible with Fuji X Pro-1 Camera body?

A: Yes! The lens will work perfectly with the X-Pro1

Q: 9. Is the aperture ring properly designed, continuously variable, or does it click into each stop?

A: I purchased this lens last December. The aperture ring on my lens is graduated in 1/3 stops -- 18 clicks between f2.8 and f22. The aperture ring can be set to an aperture priority automatic ( A ) position past f22. On aperture priority, the lens will meter in fractions of a stop.Hope this information is useful to you.

Q: 10. Fuji 55-200mm

A: 50-140 has much much faster focus, and 50-140 is also weather resistant. But the 55-200 is great for a backpack or a weekend trip if you don't really need a 2.8 lens. Very sharp.

[72 mm (Front)] The item arrived on time as promised and used it recently in an event (indoor party) paired with my XT2 and I was so amazed how fast autofocus was and how sharp images were! Highly recommended lens and getting it from B&H.

[72 mm (Front)] I was a bit concerned about the quality of the out-of-focus area rendering after watching some reviews online. I had nothing to worry about. This lens is nothing if it isn’t sharp and and renders OOF areas very well. Sharper than my old Nikon 70-200 lenses (I’ve owned both V1 and V2) and sharper than my Tamron 70-200 G2. Actually, this lens is sharper wide open then those lenses stopped down a stop. DoF isn’t as shallow at the same aperture, focal length and distance, but I rarely shot at f/2.8 on my old lenses so don’t even notice a difference. This lens can be shot a f2.8 and still provide incredible sharpness and sufficient DoF. Build quality is exceptional. Where this lens falls down a little is on single point focus with low contrast subjects. Tough on any lens, but the Nikon 70-200 f/2.8 was amazing at focusing under the most extreme conditions. But this may not be the lenses fault and might just be the fact that the X-T3 has so many focus points that you neee to be more precise when using single point focus. So I’m keeping this lens...and keeping my rating at 5 stars as it’s all you can want in a 70-200 equivalent zoom.

[f/22] This lens just about lives on my X-T4, and did on my X-T3 previously. It's sharp as a tack, has been completely unimpressed and unimpeded by bad weather, and is a joy to use. I have used it for both wildlife and portrait work, and it never lets me down.

[72 mm (Front)] Today was my first outing with the new lens, it was cold and raining and it preformed great. It's built very well with the exception of the plastic lens hood. Initially was not planning on getting this lens but having the 70-300 on indefinite back order I needed this focal length range for my spring workshops.

[APS-C] I purchased the Fuji 55-200 several years ago and have always been very happy with its performance. It's compact, light, has great image quality, and makes for an affordable easy-to-carry tele-zoom for travel and general use.

Recently I decided to try backyard bird photography and the 55-200 did ok, but lacked reach and can't be used with a teleconverter. I tried the 100-400 but found it had some autofocus issues when moving from faraway subjects to closer subjects. The 70-300 has been difficult to find, so I decided to try the 50-140.

By itself, it doesn't solve the reach problem - in fact, I'm technically losing on the long end - but the difference in reach between these two lenses is smaller than the numbers would suggest.

Being able to shoot at f/2.8 at even zoomed in all the way gives me more than a one full stop advantage in terms of light-gathering compared to the 55-200. Even though I may have to crop a bit more with the 50-140, the sharpness I've gained from being able to use a faster shutter speed combined with the noticeably better OIS has given me sharper, clearer, more usable images. The AF is also noticeably faster and very, very accurate.

The penalties compared to the 55-200 are of course cost, weight, and size, but compared to the cost and weight of a full-frame 70-200 f/2.8 lens, it's still manageable and affordable, and it balances very well on my X-H1 with the grip.

I didn't expect to see much of a difference based on the numbers and most reviews I've seen as the 55-200 really is an outstanding lens, but in the real world, the 50-140 is proving to be a significant step up.

I'm looking forward to seeing how it pairs with the 1.4x TC soon.

[APS-C] I have been very pleased with my decision to purchase this lens. I have used it for photography as well as video and both have been crisp images with nice color. Nice lens for portraits as you get a compression of the background with nice smooth bokeh. It is a substantial lens weight wise. While the OIS is outstanding, keeping it steady zoomed all the way in without a tripod even at higher frame rates is a challenge. Place on a tripod however, and this lens is hard to beat. The zoom ring is smooth and doesn't require going all the way around the barrel to reach the range. The focus ring is at the end of the barrel which is a bit odd but the autofocus is extremely good so not a huge issue in most cases. The aperture ring has a physical click and a very solid feel.

I would highly recommend it. I chose this lens over the 55-200 because of the 2.8f throughout the range and I can add a 1.5 converter to get more range when needed while keeping my bag with fewer lenses.

The only con is it is a heavy lens but the results are worth it.

[f/22] The Fuji 16-55 2.8 and this 50-140 2.8 + 1.4x TC are a bag o primes. I've bought and sold all the XF 1.4/1.2 lenses and now travel with these (kept the 16mm 1.4 for astro, wide macro, natch). The colors, sharpness, flaring, bokeh and contrast are excellent.
You'll pay more for these two red badge zooms, and they're not light, but you can shoot 90% of all your needs and produce some of your favorite images. Not to mention they're built like tanks.
