This is the wireless controller/focus unit only and requires that you source the motor, receiver, and other necessary components yourself. The controller incorporates an OLED information screen that is visible both indoors and out, and it supports automatic lens calibration.

The focus controller/transmitter incorporates a slot that accepts NP-F550 and F570 type batteries internally (batteries not included). Although the system has a wireless range of about 90' indoors and over 650' outdoors, you can connect an available (not included) cable to hardwire the focus controller to the motors (motors not included).

If you wish, consider the Tilta ES-T17-A Handheld Camera Cage Rig for Sony a7, a7 II, a7S, a7S II, a7R, & a7R II B&H # TIEST17A. It has a wooden hand grip and can start/stop recording.

Q: 2. What happens after the rated 500 recharges? Does the battery go dead and the device need to be replaced?

A: This is rated for up to 500 chargers. Once the battery dies on this unit you will need a new unit. Keep in mind this is replacing nearly 1000 cans of canned air.

Q: 3. Can you reverse the direction of the motor?

A: With the Movcam Single-Axis Wireless Lens Control System, the motor direction cannot be changed. Motor direction change is available on a different, more advanced model, the MCS-1.

Q: 6. will this work with the FS100 and attached to a rossette on my front rods? Also is the an Arri or non-Arri rossette?

A: Yes it will function with the FS100 using the included LANC cable. It will not mount onto the the rosette found on the camera body as SONY uses 1/4-20 center threading on their rosette. The Movcam rosette is ARRI compatible.

Q: 7. Will this cage work with the A7II?

A: Because the A7II has a different body shape to the A7/S/R it won't work with the A7II.. Its a great cage tho and hopefully they will come out with an A7II version. Alex

A: The ZCam E2C does have a 2.5 mm LANC Control connection. This should work with that camera.

A: We know of no handles that can directly attach to different manufacturer's cages. There are of course many that can fit to a 15mm rod and camera base system. However, if you can consider another brand, there are built in handles. The Varavon ARMOR II Pro Cage for Sony a7S, even though it is not available yet, would be a great choice. The Vidpro CA-SA7 Aluminum Camera Cage is an other while the CAME-TV ILCE-7S Cage for Sony a7S has dual handles.
