The Movcam ZSU-1 Zoom Control Module for Camerasprovides zoom control when used with the Movcam SCU-1 Hand Control Unit (not included). Made from machined aluminum, it features a standard rosette and LEMO connectors, and it is well suited to handle the rigors of daily production. It has a conical stepped zoom lever with raised rails to prevent accidentally nudging the zoom. The ZSU-1 is compatible with the SCU-1 and single-channel wireless lens control system, and turns either system into a dual-channel system.

The ZSU-1 can also connect directly to the MRS-1 (Motor Control Module) that comes with the single- and dual-channel systems via cable. It enables automatic and manual lens calibration. The unit's OLED screen displays useful information including motor position, lens position, controller speed sensitivity, record status of camera and a menu entry button. This item only includes the ZSU-1 and does not include any cables.

Q: 1. will it work with jvc HM650?

A: As long as that camera has a LANC connector, it should work fine.

Q: 2. Is compatible with Canon DSLR 70D?

A: I have no any idea about DSLR 70D, I use it for the camcorder but this unit is suitable for all lanc design for sure. I have lots of the lanc unit includes sony, canon and others, for thus one c/p is much better than others. Enjoy the shooting.

Q: 4. can I use this to control two at once by using a splitter?

A: No. This is not a recommended application of this device.

Q: 5. Is this compatible with the Panasonic Avchd?

A: I'm afraid not, this Zoom Rocker is compatible with 8 Pin Canon Lenses. However we do have the VariZoom RockDVX which will work with most Panasonic Camcorders.

Q: 6. Is this zoom control compatible with the Sony EX3?

A: Hi Marie. I just checked the operating manual on-line and this particular camera does not have a LANC connector. You can add an optional Sony remote zoom control using the multi-pin connector on the side of the lens. Sorry about that.

Q: 7. It seems like there is a delay in the zooming when I am using the controller. Is there a way to fix the delay?

A: This controller, for me, doesn't have a delay but it will lag just a bit if you press it for a full quick zoom. It works perfectly if you need a nice slow, smooth zoom. I think there are other models that have a quicker zoom if that's what your looking for.

Q: 8. is it compatible with sony pxw-z150 ?

A: Yes it is compatible. The Sony PXW-Z150 has a LANC connection that will allow you to use this controller.

Q: 9. Is it compatible with Canon Vixia G30?

A: I am using this with my Legria HF G30, and it works fine. The same input is available on Vixia G30, so I cannot see why it wouldn't work with that camera.

Q: 10. Will this work with the Sony A7R III if used with a LANC to AV-R adapter, and an AV-R to Multi Terminal adapter? (IE: Manfrotto 522AV & Sony VMC-AVM1)

A: No, it is not compatible.

I have now purchased two of these. I use them with my Canon cameras.(XA25 and XA35) This unit is basic, but highly responsive. We use them in our church services, and they have really helped improve the quality of our camera operators shooting. The only niggle I have, and it is a small one, is that the rocker lever has a slight lag before it engages. All in all, I highly recommend this controller. Every camera we add will have one of these with it. 5

I purchased this for my Canon HD video camera. Works flawlessly and easily attaches to the pan handle of my tripod. The rocker has a long travel in both directions so zooms can start and stop very smooth, not jerky. 5

Sony lanc control for several new and older cameras. Does a beautiful job of controlling the cameras. LED light indicates recording and low battery. Excellent range in zoom control very slow and smooth but also ramps up to very fast speed smoothly. 5

My Sony Z5U camera has an ergonomic problem in that the on/off switch is just below the zoom rocker switch. On more than one occasion I have accidentally shut the camera off while trying to zoom. In addition the control is not very smooth. The VZRL 100 solves all of these problems, is a snap to set up (just plug and play) and is a very smooth variable speed zoom control. I should have got it long ago. 5

I have one of these of each tripod, but each camera has its manual zoom control in a different place, this really simplifies finding and adjusting the zoom when you're in a hurry. 5
