The FP-180's panel has 90 daylight-balanced and 90 tungsten-balanced LEDs that permit the color output to be varied from 3200 to 5400K to match prevailing light conditions or integrate seamlessly with other light sources. For further versatility a separate control allows you to adjust the light intensity from 100-10% without flicker at all levels.

The FP-180 can be powered by 8 AA batteries, 14.4V lithium-ion battery packs, or with a multi-voltage AC adapter. A diffusion filter and orange color correction filter are included to allow you soften or adjust the color temperature of the light.

Q: 1. Is there a Watt-equivalent brightness, for easy comparison with other lights? (I see the Lux rating, but it's less intuitive.)

A: FYI, after some digging and math, I calculated this to be about 156 Watt-equivalents (incandescent). But it could be higher if I'm not handling the light's angle of dispersion correctly.(I'm treating the quoted 200 lumens at 3.65m as a point spherical source. Casual intuition suggests that might not be correct for a panel light like this, ... but my cursory reading of the equations involved suggests that doesn't matter?)The math seems to be:(1) lumens = lux x distance (in meters) squared.(2) Watt-equiv = lumens/19.3+18 (more or less)*So, 100 lux x (3.65)^2 = 2665 lumensand 2665 lumens/19.3+18 = 156 Watt-equiv_____________________* The 2nd equation is my regression of some data I plotted from a DOE webpage.

Q: 2. what kind of battery fits this light unit cause it def isnt 8 AA batteries?

A: This light can be powered via the AC adapter that is included or with 8 AA batteries.

Q: 3. how long is the battery life while using the light, before you have to charge it or replace it..

A: On a set of fully charged batteries and full brightness, 45 minutes is a good guess. If you come off full bright, you should get much more out of it up to 3 hours.

Q: 4. What is the CRI of this light?

A: 85 CRI

Q: 5. 200 Lux @ 12' computes to what at 3-4 feet? Would this light fill greatly at 3-4 ft. for outdoor interviews so that the sunlite background would not wash out?

A: Hello, if direct sunlite is at the background this 200lux won't help that much. Maybe it can fill something at 1-1.5 ft. Even tough at night time it works amazing. This is a music video I shot in NY with it shooting at ISO 1250 on a 7D.http://youtu.be/GCMAbuECBLMAll the best,@manuelhst

Q: 6. How many watts is the output of the Bescor FP-180 Bi-Color Dimmable LED Light?

A: One FP180 Bi Color fixture would be equivalent to about 100 watts of tungsten light.

Q: 7. Can I use this product with my Sony video camera?

A: You can use it with just about any camera. The issue may be that your SONY camera does not offer a standard hot/cold shoe that will fit this light. We offer a simple bracket that will make this work for you:The Vello CB-510 Dual Shoe Bracket with Silicon Rubber Grip is a side bracket that attaches to the bottom of your camera and provides two cold shoes, one on top and one on the side, for attaching lights and other accessories. An included dual-purpose thumbscrew enables mounting the bracket along with a camera onto a tripod, fluid head, ball head or other gear. The thumbscrew features a 1/4 stud on top and a 1/4 female thread underneath. A silicon rubber grip will serve as an effective handle when you use this bracket solely with a camera, and as a pan handle when you mount it on a tripod. B&H# VECB510

Q: 8. Do these have a rheostat on them? Adjust brightness? Color temperature?

A: Yes each panel would have a color temperature and dimmer dial built into them.

Q: 9. Dumb question- Is this for video or still photography? Or both?

A: This on-camera light is intended for video but it could also be used for continuous lighting for photos as well.

Q: 10. What is the watt output of this light? I couldn't find it on the specs or overview

A: Most LED lights are not listed in watts like hot lights. They are mainly in Lumens or Lux. The Bescor FP-180 is 200 Lux. There is no conversion that is accurate for Lux to watts.

[3200 to 5400K] This thing has a wireless remote with a digital readout! I mean, thats just cool. It's not the lightest thing in the world, but the bag it comes with makes up for that. I like the light output, I honestly tune it down more often then not.

[4 lb] We are a micro budget documentary film company. This little light can go anywhere with ease, 12v D.C., 110 A.C, 8 AA batteries. Key light, backdrop illumination, on camera, in vehicle plugged into car, we even had one mounted on a UTV plugged in. Priceless utility.

[Proprietary] Outstanding location light. We used them indoor, outside, in pastures in living rooms in back yards, everywhere. Current drain is minimal and we used a spare 12v car battery with an AC/DC converter for silent location lighting. Durable and so far trouble free. Great price from B&H for a nano budget production company.

[3200 to 5400K] We use this for self tape auditions. Works great with the other light we have. Batteries seem to last a long time and the adjustments work well.

[3200 to 5400K] I emailed Bescor and they quickly responded. It sounded like this was not at all normal and they offered to ship me a new one free of charge. I was extremely impressed on the quickness and how they handled the situation. Light still works great for what I use it for!
