[1.3" (33 mm)] Had a canon 24-70F4 with a macro feature that was allright, but I prefer this one, gets in much closer for flower photography and bugs. It's got a nice all metal feel to it, and it came with a filter on the front as well. Don't let the fact that this is chinese made deter you from considering this lens! 5

[1.3" (33 mm)] This lens is the 'gold-standard' for a true macro lens that reaches a real 1:1 ratio and goes one step beyond that, plus can take close up portraits as well. Optical quality is simply stunning. 5

[2x] This lens is super sharp. The build quality is great being full metal. It's easy to use and its light wight. There is a little bit of focus breathing but that doesn't bother me. 5

[28.2mm] This lens makes great images! It's a bit heavy, but very sturdy. The manual focus means the photographer has to do a little more work to get a desired image- there's a learning curve if you've gotten used to auto focus, but it's fun to experiment, and having control over what's sharp and what's not, without the constant readjusting of an auto focus lens, is a real pleasure. Very nice lens, plus a filter and a padded storage bag. 5

[<0.01%] As long as you're okay with manual focus and aperture adjustment, this is an outstanding lens. As you focus in tight, you gain the additional 2x magnification. If you are focused out toward infinity, there is no magnification and it makes a really nice portrait lens. It has a smooth, creamy bokeh and sharp, crisp optics. Overall, I am very happy with this product. 5

[C] It is hard for me to talk about sharpness without being able to compare it to something. I don't own the 1-5x Canon standard so I can't speak to that. However compared to a 100mm L Canon lens it was sharper at 1x. When judging a lens with high magnification you really gotta have a solid setup. Rock solid rails and tripod or gtfo with your claims about image quality unless you're totally locked down. Loads of chromatic aberration but I don't care because that's so easy to correct. Super ugly rectangular vignette when focusing on infinity. I almost feel like it should be disqualified from making the claim that it can focus that far. I guess on a crop sensor it wouldn't be an issue? Not sure. I have pretty weird requirements and it fits those perfectly so I'm thrilled. The build quality is good but the focus ring is a little crunchy. It's well damped but not smooth. Feels gross. The aperture ring extends beyond the stop points. Weird. Why? Feels sloppy. Whatever! Great value. Get it. 5
