If you're a vocalist looking for the classic sound of a FET condenser microphone in a USB form-factor, consider the ART C1USB, a USB mic designed for sung vocals, podcasting, VO, and anything else that applies to the voice. Combining FET circuitry with the ease straight-to-computer recording, the C1USB can come in handy for home-studio use.

Monitor your vocals without latency straight from the mic over the 3.5mm headphone jack. Controls are on hand for headphone volume, mic gain, a -10 dB pad, and a high-pass filter to kill low rumble. Because of the mic's cardioid polar pattern, you won't pick up nearly as much of the room as you would with an omnidirectional or figure-8 mic; this makes the C1USB perfectly suited for untreated home/bedroom studios. A desktop mic stand, a mic mount, and a USB cable are included.

This mic is designed for your voice, whether you use it to sing, podcast, narrate audio books, or record voice-overs. You'll find the FET technology will help your voice sound full, yet clear and polished.

The mic will operate with both Mac and Windows computers, without requiring a dedicated interface, preamp, or mixer.

The microphone makes use of a directional cardioid polar pattern to minimize off-axis sound. This polar pattern naturally, yet effectively tamps down room tone and focuses the audio capture on what's directly in front of the mic, so everyone can clearly hear your voice.

The mic offers a headphone jack for monitoring. Just plug a pair of headphones into the 3.5mm jack, and you'll be able to listen to your broadcast-quality audio in all its glory. A convenient volume dial helps you raise or lower the headphone volume, so you won't have to change the volume on your computer or your recording software to hear audio at your desired level. Finally, the mic offers low-latency blend and mix controls monitoring for your vocals. These come in handy for tracking to prerecorded material: you can use it to adjust the balance between your mic's pickup and the existing mix; adjust these knobs to your liking, and you won't hear any latency as you record.

The mic records audio at sample rates and resolutions up to 16-bit / 48 kHz, giving you the broadcast standard for media playback. When it comes to the digital technology in this mic, you need not worry about recording a substandard sound.

With an included desktop stand, mic mount, and USB cable, you can get up and running right away. Simply place the mic in the mount, attach the mount to the stand, and run the USB cable from the mic into your computer. When you're done, stow the mic in the included pouch for safekeeping.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Would any usb-c wire work with this microphone?

A: The Sennheiser Profile USB Condenser Microphone Streaming Set with Boom Arm will work with USB-C cables which are capable of carrying both data and power.

Q: 2. Does this micrphone Support being used on iPhone when?? Recoring audio?

A: The mic comes with a cord that needs a USB port. The iPhone doesn't have a USB port, so you'd need some type of adapter. I've seen a YouTube tutorial that says the Apple Lightning to USB Camera Adapter will work with any USB mic and iPhone 6. I've never tried it, though. B & H sells the adapter.

Q: 3. The product states with Accessory Pack. What is included in the Accessory Pack? I have seen other online that include a pop filter, does this product include that?

A: Here's what's included:Blue Snowball USB Condenser Microphone with Accessory Pack (Ice)Tripod StandUSB Cable1-Year Limited Warranty

Q: 4. Does this work with apple devices such as iPad, iPhone, iPod?

A: With Apple's iPad camera connection kit you can use this mic with an iPad but not an iPhone or iPod. B&H # APIPCCK.

Q: 5. latency?

A: When using headphones connected directly to the C)!U Pro you will receive a mix of the direct signal that the microphone is picking up with zero latency and the return audio from your software. When direct monitoring is disabled you are hearing return of all signal from your software and latency will depend on the computer specs and settings. With the speed and efficiency of currently available processors, latency is rarely an issue.

A: This Microphone is compatible with ChromeOS. However, I do not believe this will work.Instead, plug it directly in. If this is a USB-C chromebook such as what I own, I would recommend a USB-C adapter.

Q: 9. is this made out of aluminum or plastic that is painted to look like aluminum?

A: The body of the microphone is plastic with highly reflective chrome-like paint, that has been very lightly brushed with a concentric circular pattern.

Q: 10. I purchased this mic a year ago and it has given me hollow mono sound. Am I doing something wrong?

A: The Samson C01UCW is a mono microphone. A hollow sound can be caused by several factors. Condenser mics are very sensitive, and will be affected by room reflections and reverbaration. If you are using the mic in a large room with reflective walls it may cause this type of sound. Many times just by relocation the mic or even turning it slightly may improve your sound. You can also look into purchasing a reflection filter which will effectively cut down on the amount of indirect signal to the mic. a href= http://bhpho.to/1x7rIsB target= _blank http://bhpho.to/1x7rIsB/a

[16-Bit ] We use them in our church to emplify the choir and we want to make CD's from singing groups or instrumental groups. They emplify the sound very clear.

[48 kHz] Logitech owns the Blue brand now, and they will be discontinuing ALL of the non-USB, non-gamer oriented products. Snowball and Yeti will stick around, but grab this piece before the XLR side of the brand dies. It sounds great! And I thought I got a good deal at $90. It was $73 at time of review!! Get it!

[Large Diaphragm] Rode delivers with the NT3, crisp clear audio with low noise. I use it for recording DSLR dialogue and the cardioid pattern means I don't have to be super critical with aiming it. I use Neutrik connectors which do lock into the NT3, just give them a push, for a secure XLR connection. I mount it into an Audio Technica AT8415 shock mount, if it slips a bit in the vertical, I wrap a rubber band around the mic shaft to offer some purchase to the shock mount bands, keeps it secure. 4 stars due to weight, 5 stars for sound.

[48 kHz] A very nice mic. I am not an audiophile but this mic sounds excellent to me. Very low noise and a very high peaking threshold. Outstanding build quality if a bit heavy. Love it.

[2.9 lb] I got this mic to interview a friends pre-wedding interview in our home. I'm a novice by audio standards but I must say I was very delighted in the sound quality this mic provided. Was also glad it uses 9V battery or phantom power.

[2.9 lb] I purchased two of these to use for both acoustic guitar recording and also for drum overheads. They are beautifully constructed as I have come to expect from Sennheiser products. A very useful feature are the small adjustment controls which allow you to add a pad to reduce very loud sources and select from three bass roll-off profiles allowing you to tailor the microphone to match its intended use. I have so far only used them for acoustic guitar recording and was very happy with the super clear and entirely natural sound reproduction. They are nice and compact as well. One small gripe is the average quality pouch that comes with them, but most people will probably use a road case anyway. Thanks again B&H ...

[16-Bit ] Purchased in 1999 this mic still works after all these years. It didn't get much use, as I only used it to record acoustic guitar. Nevertheless, it can do a lot more than just acoustic recording. Build quality is great, sound is excellent, a wide dynamic range, and frequency response. With small condensers mic placement is critical, and the NT3 is a lot more forgiving than my AKG C1000s.
