Pairing an incredibly fast maximum aperture with a standard focal length, this black Mitakon Zhongyi Speedmaster 35mm f/0.95 Mark II Sony E Lensfrom Mitakon Zhongyi Speedmaster 35mm f/0.95 Mark II Sony E Lensis designed for APS-C-format Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras and provides a 52.5mm equivalent focal length. The bright f/0.95 maximum aperture offers increased control over depth of field and focus, as well as benefitting working in low or difficult lighting conditions. Maintaining a high degree of image quality throughout the aperture range, a sophisticated optical design features both low dispersion and high refractive index elements to control chromatic aberrations and reduce color fringing.

Balancing the optical components is a robust all-metal lens body that facilitates a smooth manual focus design along with a manual de-clicked aperture ring for smooth, silent exposure adjustment. Depth of field and distance scales are also featured on the lens barrel to aid working with pre-focusing techniques.

A versatile standard prime, this 35mm lens is designed for APS-C-format Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras where it provides a 52.5mm equivalent focal length.

An extremely fast f/0.95 maximum aperture benefits working in low-light conditions and also avails considerable control over depth of field for selective focus applications.

The 11 elements, eight groups optical design incorporates one extra-low dispersion element, two extra-high refractive index elements, and three high refractive index elements to significantly reduce chromatic aberrations and fringing, as well as contribute to a high degree of sharpness and resolution.

Manual focus design is complemented by both depth of field and distance scales for utilizing pre-focusing and zone focusing techniques.

De-clicked aperture ring offers silent, smooth adjustment that is well-suited to video applications.

Nine-blade diaphragm contributes to a pleasing bokeh quality.

Metal lens barrel offers increased durability, yet remains lightweight at 1 lb.

Q: 1. hi. How this performs in GFX 50? Thanks!

A: This lens is not compatible with the GFX 50.

Q: 2. For wish camera this lens please?

That mount is on the Canon mirrorless cameras.This is the cameras,1.Canon EOS M3 Mirrorless Digital Camera with 18-55mm Lens (Black) B&H # CAEM31855B MFR # 9694B0112.Canon EOS M10 Mirrorless Digital Camera with 15-45mm Lens (Black) B&H # CAEM101545B MFR # 0584C0113.Canon EOS M5 Mirrorless Digital Camera with 15-45mm Lens B&H # CAEM51545B MFR # 1279C011AA

Q: 3. Can you change the de-clicked aperture? Make it back to clicking when changing settings?

A: Unfortunately, there is no way to change the aperture ring from de-clicked to clicked.

Q: 4. Can this be used on the Sony a7R III?

A: This lens is for APS-C sensors, so although you can put it on a A7R III, there will be heavy vignetting due to the smaller image circle

Q: 5. Has anyone compared the micro contrast of the Mitakon 35mm/f0.95 to any equivalent from Zeiss? Does this MitaKon35mm has the same 3D look? Thank you for any help given

A: It's an outstanding lens, amazing wide open and slightly closed down. Most people purchase it for its artistic rendering when open. It's sharp at the center when at f/0.95 and slightly closed until it becomes a 'regular' lens closed down with an apparent 53ish mm field of view. It's really amazing. Since you want to know about the microcontrast, you may wish to search YouTube for Ken Wheeler aka 'Angry Photographer' then search for his multiple reviews of the lens. Spoiler alert: He loves it. The 3D look comes from properly using the extreme shallow depth of field. That's sorta up to you and your level of skill. You should also search Flickr. Flickr has lens groups. Yeah, the Mitakon is there and you need to check it out. Search for: SnailsPlace (me) for photos from Singapore's Gardens by the Bay for lots of photos. Anyway, hope this helps... Check out Angry Photographer and the Flickr Mitakon lens page.

Q: 6. Why is the silver version more expensive than the black alternative?

A: Hi, since the lenses are identical except for the color, Mitakon is pricing the silver higher only because of the color. We have many products that vary in price due only to color. It's a feature that manufacturers can choose to price differently.

Q: 7. How Can I use it on canon 5d full frame

A: No you will get extremely heavy vignetting on a full frame camera.

Q: 8. Is this compatible with the Fujifilm X-T20?

A: Yes, It most certainly will!!! It's AWESOME! FYI: ALL FUNCTIONS MANUAL -- Focusimg & Aperture, also NO CONTACTS so that means NO METADATA. It's a 35mm, but on the Fujifilm it amounts to about 52.5mm Field of View. Again, it's not a 50mm. It's a 35mm looking about 50mmish. Set the camera to Shooting Without Lens and in the menu set up a 35mm (NOT 50mm) profile. Use Fujifilm's AWESOME Focus Peaking. I set it on High (You have several colors to choose from. I use White for color and Red for B&W photos. The Aperture Ring IS CLICKLESS. If you bump it, it'll change. Wide open their will be noticable purple fringing in high contrast areas. A breeze to fix in post processing. You're buying the lens to shoot wide open. It's an artsy lens that you will fall in love with. I could keep going but suggest you go to FLICKR and check out the Mitakon 35mm Lens User Groups. Fabulous photos!!!!! Enjoy! Oh, once you catch the manual everything bug the VOIGTLANDER 58mm f/1.4 Nokton SL II S AIS (Nikon F-mount - get an adapter) WILL BLOW YOUR MIND! Again, check out the FLICKR Lens Pages.

Q: 9. Can I use this for the Canon M50?

A: Yes, the lens is an EFM Mount, so it can be used on any M system camera without an adaptor. It is manual focus only and can only be used in Manual or Aperture priority mode for exposure.

Q: 10. Does this lens have a moving element? I can hear a element sliding when I gently tilt the angle of the lens

A: There are no moving elements in this particular lens.

[f/0.95] Paired with the Canon M6, this is a perfect travel lens. I was able to get great shots of the Sydney NYE fireworks with this lens, handheld. Everyone around me has big dSLRs and bigger tripods. I was able to take photos as easily as the smartphone people, but my image quality was much, much higher.

I even managed to get an acceptable photo of Orion and the Orion Nebula with the help of an undersized Gorillapod.

[APS-C] I just fell in love with this lens. It is not that easy to master the focus when wide open, hand held and using live-view. But the images that it produces are very nice. The Bokeh is like creamy butter. I recommande this lens for people who like using manuel lenses.

[Sony E] Mahdollistaa työskentelyn jopa kuun valossa. Taustan sileä pehmennys antaa kuville erityisen ilmeen. Objektiivi on hyvässä tasapainossa XPRO2 kanssa, käsitarkennus on miellyttävä ja kokonaisuus huokuu laatua. Täydellä aukolla on tykättävä vinjetoinnista

[1.64 lb] It's super sharp, with beautiful Bokeh.

[APS-C] Between the color, bokeh, and sharpness of this lens... WOW. When using it on my Fuji xPro2, the images are almost indistinguishable from those I get using my Leica m240 and 50mm f1.4 Summilux. Obviously, not as good at a micro-level. But it really, really, surprised me just how similar the images looked (FYI, I primarily shoot street and travel photography).
I don't know if every lens (this model) is as good or well made as the one I got, but mine is fantastic!
If I could change anything, it would be for click-stops on the aperture ring. As I tend to shoot this lens wide open, it's disappointing to see—after I've taken the shot—that the aperture ring moved accidentally while I focused. No biggie. But that would be the one thing I'm unhappy about.
And again, as I like to shoot wide-open, I also bought the B+W Variable ND filter. Highly recommended.
My final words... Get this lens!

[Sony E] It has some defects like flare or soft edges, but definitely beautiful lens especially for portraits. It has a character. Sharp in the middle. shallow DOF due to f/0,95. There is no connection between lens and the camera so you have to activate the shoot without lens option in the settings. I am using a xe3 and it is hidden in the menu set up button/dial setting shoot without lens.

[55 mm (Front)] This lens is simply amazing - especially at it's price point. I have owned and used 3 different versions of the Leica Noctilux over the years and this lens is 95% of the Noctilux quality at a fraction of the cost. It works perfectly on my Fuji Xpro 2 and XH1 and focusing is quite accurate and easy using focus peaking. The only down side is that the aperture shows as F/1 in exif data as there is no electronic coupling. The image quality and bokeh, however, must be seen to be believed. Even at F/0.95 the center is super sharp and crisp. Color saturation is very similar to the Leica equivalent as is it's micro contrast. CA and fringing are slightly present wide open but easily correctable in post processing. The only thing I dislike about this lens is the clickless aperture ring but, lets face it, you buy this kind of optic to shoot wide open anyway so it really is a non-issue. Build quality is superb and image quality is unbelievable . To get slightly better image quality you'll need to spend $10,000+ for the Leica and that is only marginally better. There are comparisons between the 2 lenses on the net and you'd be amazed at how hard it is to see a difference . Buy it!

[APS-C] I was skeptical about purchasing this lens. I previously had a Rokinon 50:1.2 and it was ok, just ok. I was able to focus with it without issue but it just lacked the magic wide open. After receiving the Mitakon 35:0.95 I was floored. The image wide open (I only want this for wide open photography) is amazing. It is sharp in the center where it counts and the bokeh is probably the best I have ever seen with my lenses. I am using it with a Sony A6600 which has a nice feature set for manual focusing. I am able to nail the focus most of the time assuming I don’t move (a fraction of an inch will put the image outside the focus zone)when hand holding it.  Not an issue with a tripod. I am using a 3 stop ND filter so I can shoot outside in full daylight wide open. The A6600 conveniently has a low ISO of 50 which sometimes allows me to shoot without the ND filter.  This lens has the magic and it is a keeper.
