[2.53 lb] Versatile and portable. Add a camera tripod to make it even more versatile. Unless you use a camera with a telescope the only celestial object you can see with any great detail is the moon--so this is sufficient for the moon and some detail on planets--also excellent for land use. 5

[2.53 lb] Made the right choice buying the Kinesis L311 case for my Sony 400mm f2.8 prime lens. It fits in with my Sony A1 (body) attached. It's lighter than the bag I'd used before buying this. I was out in the woods yesterday looking for Red Headed Wooopeckers to photograph - this bag made so comfortable for me to lug my big prime lens around.
