[Key Lock] Having owned the Nikon loupe for several months, I now feel qualified to review it.1. Nikon's assertion that their loupe has a resolving power of 63 lines per millimeter would make it sharper than most of their FX format lenses. I cannot verify, but have no reason to doubt, Nikon's assertion.2. The assertion that the lens is coated comes from B&H, not Nikon. The lens is uncoated. Most people are unaware that coatings alter the spectral transmission of a lens. In the jewelry industry, nothing must interfere with a jeweler's ability to discern the quality of the revered blue-white diamond. The Nikon loupe satisfies this need.3. The lens frame fits the cover so precisely that a fingernail will not fit between them. The owner of this Nikon loupe need not worry about pocket lint getting onto the lens. A short lanyard or wrist strap would be useful to keep the loupe from getting lost in a pocket.4. The lens frame is precisely 10mm thick; the lens being symmetric, the nodal point is 5mm from either edge. With a focal length of 25mm, the working distance is 20mm from either edge of the frame. With a lens diameter of 13mm, this loupe is in effect a 25mm f2 makro lens.In summary, this Nikon loupe is one of the sharpest and most precise 10x magnifiers available, and will please anyone who enjoys owning fine quality optical instruments. Everyone working in the diamond industry should have one of these.
