The Icy Dock ToughArmor 4-Bay 2.5" SATA Drive Cagefrom Icy Dock ToughArmor 4-Bay 2.5" SATA Drive Cageis designed to fit inside your desktop's 5.25" bay to provide your system with four hot-swap 2.5" storage drive bays. This design allows you to expand the computer's storage capacity with 2.5" internal SSDs and HDDs without opening up the computer case each time to install an internal drive. This cage accommodates drives that are 7mm to 15mm tall and have a SATA interface.

Icy Dock includes EZ-Slide Mini trays so you can quickly mount your drives to the backplane or replace a failed drive. To reduce the amount of cables, this cage powers your drives by utilizing a single 4-pin Molex cable. For cooling, two 40mm fans are on board, and a fan switch lets you turn them off when using SSDs. Furthermore, you may configure the drives in a RAID array to enhance the drive's read and write speeds as well as provide redundancy.

[4x 2.5"] I bought this because I liked the fact that it didn't have a rail/caddy
system like many of the other models. There's really not much to this
simple design, which is why I like it. You're just sliding an SSD into a
power + SATA connector. Not much to go wrong here.

The SSD's I've tried in it fit somewhat tightly in the slot so a bit of force is required to push them in, and quite a lot of force is required to pop them out by pressing the button. I'm not sure if this would be the case with all SSDs or just the model I'm using. If I were going to be popping SSDs in and out multiple times a day, I might be bothered by this, but for my usage pattern, it's fine.

[Aluminum, Steel] Using it don't need additional power supply for 2,5 HHD, cheap, easy and comfortable in use.

[4x 7-Pin SATA] I am very pleased with the ease of use and performance of this product. The only thing that would make it better is that if it were trayless, but I knew what it was when I bought and am extremely pleased with it.

[2x 40 mm] This is a great product if you have limited space and power. Use 1- 5.25 Drive Bay and then mount up to 2 - 2.5mm drives and one slimline (Laptop) dvd/blueray Drive in unit. I'll be getting another :-) :-)

If the screws don't fit then use other screws.
Extra power connectors on the back if you don't have the right one coming from your power supply.

[SATA 3 (6 Gb/s)] The material is sturdy and almost intuitive to use without any instructions.

[SATA 3 (6 Gb/s)] I bought this because I am transitioning from spinning disks to 2 1/2 inch SSDs and when this arrived I was impressed by how well it was made, its ease of installation and the fact that for 4 SSDs I only needed 1 power cord thus reducing some of the clutter of cables inside my case by 3.   The fan has 3 settings, automatic, low and high and is attached to the rear of the unit and really quiet.   Good price for a great little unit.

[Yes] My Super Micro has only 4@ 3.5" internal drives but the SEAX11 system board supports 8 SATA ports. This drive cage gives me devices for the other 4 ports.
I now have two BIOS selectable boot systems each in RAID-1 configuration. No data is stored on this storage, just the boot configuration which is quite small compared to today's 2.5" drive capacities.

[Aluminum, Steel] SFF computer from many brands only come with a single SATA power connector and this allows using the one SATA power for 2 HDD/SSD.

Easy to use and the hot-swap insert and removal functions as expected.

[4x 7-Pin SATA] Very solid, all metal construction. Definitely a tougher build than other removable-rack drive decks.

[Aluminum, Steel] I recently built yet another video editing PC. Previously I combined them with an external SAS Raid. This time, I populated 3 of these cages with 2TB SSDs (24 TB total) and used an Areca ARC-1883ix-12, and put them inside the PC case. Doing this saved me 3-4K over my usual raid costs.
