$329.85 $451.89

The FotodioX Macro Focusing Helicoid allows a Nikon G or DX lens to be used as macro lens with variable magnification ability on a Canon EOS DSLR camera body. It features a leaf spring design to hold the lens tightly to the camera body, ensuring there is no play between the camera and the lens. In addition, the helicoid features an all metal design and a polished surface for smooth mounting. Although the lens will fit physically, automatic diaphragm, auto-focusing, and other functions will not operate correctly while using this adapter. In this case "stop-down mode" will need to be used when metering since the lens does not have the ability to have its aperture controlled by the camera. You can shoot with manual mode or aperture priority mode.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. When it says minimum extension 1.6, does that mean the minimum distance between flanges?

A: Poor mount, Don't waste you're time!!

Q: 2. What is the weight of this item, and what are its dimensions?

A: 70mm diameter x 20mm thick and weighs about 8oz.

Q: 3. The photos of this adapter don't show any electric contacts on it. How can it work on the Canon R without communicating with the lens through the absent contacts?

A: This adapter would offer completely manual operation on an EF lens while mounted to an RF body.

Q: 4. Does it have tilt and shift like a 4x5?

A: No, it does not. The FotodioX Macro Bellows for Nikon F Mount Camera Systems is only designed for macro photography needs, and it does not offer any tilt/shift capabilities.

Q: 5. what adapter can be used to attach a Nikon enlarger lens with L-39 threads?

A: Fotodiox makes a Nikon F to L39 adapter, click the link below to view; https://bhpho.to/336ypp5

Q: 6. Will the FTZ adapter work on this?

A: You could mount Nikon F lenses on the FotodioX Macro Bellows for Nikon Z with the Nikon FTZ adapter. When the lens is on the bellows there is no communication between the camera and the lens. So it is best to use lenses with an aperture ring.

Q: 7. Two questions: 1) is it necessary to use a lens designated as macro with this bellows and 2) if using a lens without a manual aperture ring (Nikon), it will stay wide open, is that right?

A: Question 1, no you don't need to use a macro specific lens with the bellows. Question 2, the bellows unit doesn't any sensors on it to connect with your camera, meaning everything is going to be manual. The rails on the unit do get in the way at times if you plan on using a ring flash.

Q: 8. I am hoping to attach my 1 Nikkor 10 - 30 lens to the macro bellows; is there an adapter for that lens that fits?

A: The FotodioX Macro Bellows for Nikon F will connect Nikon F mount for full frame, and APSC sensor DSLR cameras. Unfortunately, there are no adapters to connect your 1 NIKKOR VR 10-30mm f/3.5-5.6 PD-ZOOM to and F mount camera body.

Q: 9. Given that there are no electrical connections passed between body and lens, couldn't it also be used on film SLRs?

A: Yes, you can mount the FotodioX Macro Focusing Helicoid (Nikon G & DX Lenses to Nikon DSLR Body) on SLR camera bodies.

Q: 10. So this is a close-focus adapter, similar to the VM-E adapter for Sony? Then I can use this to mount the Voigtlander Heliar 40mm/2.8 on my Z7?

A: Yes, the KIPON Lens Mount Adapter for Leica M-Mount Lens with Helicoid to Nikon Z-Mount Camera would be similar in performance to the Voigtlander VM-E Close Focus Adapter, except it is designed for use on Nikon Z-mount cameras, not Sony E-mount cameras. As the adapter provides 5mm of travel (compared to the 4mm of travel of the VM-E adapter), the above adapter should allow you to connect and focus the Voigtländer 40mm f/2.8 Heliar Lens on the Nikon Z7 Mirrorless Digital Camera.

[0.65 lb] I use this Bellows with a 50mmm nikon Manual lens. i fell that it is a great value for the money. Especially with the added diopters package from vivator. i also own a 40mm macro and a 85mm macro. They are good in the field but I still love the bellows for home studio use.

[Brass] A lot of bang for the buck. It will not work with the lenses from DSLR camera systems unless they have an ability that allows you to manually adjust aperture, otherwise with a regular SLR lens, they work well . Best results are with a 45 to 60mm focal length lens, or longer. At about 50mm focal length, you are focusing at about an inch from the lens, as the image reflects. With the bellows retracted a bit, the third image was the result. With a 135mm focal length lens, you are focusing at about 5 to 6 inches with bellows at full extension with a field of view of about 1?? inches to 2 inches. As with all Close up schemas, you lose depth of field, but if you shoot coins, rings/ jewelry, or smale scale models, this is a perfect combination. Once set up, it is pretty much a WYSIWYG with an ISO of 125 or 100. Since the camera is unable to hold the iris open while you are composing, if you stop the lens down after composing, then you can adjust your ISO accordingly to improve depth of field, but you will need to resort to a tripod. The only down side is the measuring scale is that it is glued on rather than etched in the rail. A minor detail unless you require compious complete notes to save time on reproducing results as you are more likely to be advancing or reversing the bellows with the left hand knob rather than analyzing a measuring scale. If the right knob set screw is allowed to drag slightly on the rail, you right hand to operate the camer and the bellows will hold position. If you take this into the field, it is not indestructable, however if the camera and bellows are mounted to a rail and the rail then mounted to a tripod, you should do okay if you are careful and mindful of the physics of levers. Also decent lighting of the subject is essential. Relying on the light you can constantly throw on the stage will give you the most predictable results without undue shadows or nasty surprises.

[Canon EF] An excellent low cost solution that allows me use three 40 year old Nikon lenses (in manual mode) with my new Canon DSLR. The fit to the lens is quite snug and locks in place, preventing any chance of the lens coming loose when attaching to or removing from the camera. The adapter can be swapped between lenses by pressing down the little lock release lever while twisting but this takes just enough effort that I've decided to order two more and leave them mounted. Very pleased!

[0.65 lb] I am coming from large format film (4x5) and so a bellows is a sensible accessory for me. I was unsure of what to expect for quality, given the price, but I am impressed. I wish I could get tilts and shifts for this price, but the extensions are worth it to me. I already had a slider for stereophotography, which makes fine adjustments easier. I am glad that I was to get this versatile accessory for my first DSLR.

[0.65 lb] I use a Canon60D in a remote camera trap. I want the (more modern) camera, but not the modern lenses, which tend to respond slowly and lose (focus) settings over time. This adapters allows me to use older, manual, Nikkor lenses in my sets. The apapter is solid metal, and fits both the EOS camera mount and Nikkor lenses well, with no slop, and no excess tightness. Based on experience with first one, bought another for a second camera/lens pair
