Fotodiox Macro Helicoid Nikon G To Fujifilm X

Fotodiox Macro Helicoid Nikon G To Fujifilm X
  • Product Code: eq180241

$164.85 $227.49

The FotodioX Macro Focusing Helicoid allows you to mount Nikon G Lenses on a Fujifilm X (FX-Mount) system camera. A built-in dial on the adapter allows you to control the aperture of the lens while it is mounted, and allows a Nikon lens to act as a variable macro extension tube. Although the lens will fit physically, automatic diaphragm, auto-focusing, and other functions will not operate correctly while using this adapter. In this case "stop-down mode" will need to be used when metering since the lens does not have the ability to have its aperture controlled by the camera. You can shoot with manual mode or aperture priority mode. Infinity focusing is guaranteed.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will the FTZ adapter work on this?

A: You could mount Nikon F lenses on the FotodioX Macro Bellows for Nikon Z with the Nikon FTZ adapter. When the lens is on the bellows there is no communication between the camera and the lens. So it is best to use lenses with an aperture ring.

Q: 2. Will this mount onto the Nikon Z9? Or is the Z9's grip prevents the mounting of this unit?

A: This FotodioX Macro Bellows for Nikon Z-Mount Cameras is not compatible with the Nikon Z9.

Q: 3. I noticed it has a hole in the front. in the old Nikon PB-4 or PB-5 models you could use the PS-5 slide copying attachment. Does anyone know if the PS-5 will work with this Fotodiox nodel?

A: Yes, it will attach.

Q: 4. Does this maintain correct infinity focus?

A: Once the helicoid is adjusted from its original position, infinity focus will no longer be available. When the adapter is in its original position, the infinity focus function will work.

Q: 5. How much extension can this helicoid provide?

A: The extension provided by the FotodioX Macro Focusing Helicoid (Nikon G & DX Lenses to Nikon DSLR Body) is approximately 3".

Q: 6. What is the weight of this item, and what are its dimensions?

A: 70mm diameter x 20mm thick and weighs about 8oz.

Q: 7. what adapter can be used to attach a Nikon enlarger lens with L-39 threads?

A: Fotodiox makes a Nikon F to L39 adapter, click the link below to view; https://bhpho.to/336ypp5

Q: 8. Does it have tilt and shift like a 4x5?

A: No, it does not. The FotodioX Macro Bellows for Nikon F Mount Camera Systems is only designed for macro photography needs, and it does not offer any tilt/shift capabilities.

Q: 9. Can I use the z mount 105 micro lens with this bellows?

A: Yes, you can use the FotodioX Macro Bellows for Nikon Z with the Nikon NIKKOR Z MC 105mm f/2.8 VR S.

Q: 10. Given that there are no electrical connections passed between body and lens, couldn't it also be used on film SLRs?

A: Yes, you can mount the FotodioX Macro Focusing Helicoid (Nikon G & DX Lenses to Nikon DSLR Body) on SLR camera bodies.

[Aluminum] Works very well with Fuji X mount. The construction is a mixed bag of very cheap plastic knobs, decent bellows material and good quality metal rails. Be very gentle with it and it will last long. i bought two thanks to B&H for their support and vast catalogue.

[Aluminum] I use this Bellows with a 50mmm nikon Manual lens. i fell that it is a great value for the money. Especially with the added diopters package from vivator. i also own a 40mm macro and a 85mm macro. They are good in the field but I still love the bellows for home studio use.

[Aluminum] For the price it is an excellent way for beginners and people on a budget to get into macro photography.

[FUJIFILM X] This very well made device allows you to mount any Leica-M mount lens to your Z6. That alone is interesting, but the kicker is that this little ring also has an internal helicoid, which extends the close focus range of your lenses. Instead of being stuck with the typical 0.7-1 meter MFD, this reduces that by about half. It's like you get all new lenses! I particularly enjoy using my very old Leica thread mount lenses on my Z6. Quite fun, and a totally unique look. Highly recommended.

[3 x 3 x 1.4"] A lot of bang for the buck. It will not work with the lenses from DSLR camera systems unless they have an ability that allows you to manually adjust aperture, otherwise with a regular SLR lens, they work well . Best results are with a 45 to 60mm focal length lens, or longer. At about 50mm focal length, you are focusing at about an inch from the lens, as the image reflects. With the bellows retracted a bit, the third image was the result. With a 135mm focal length lens, you are focusing at about 5 to 6 inches with bellows at full extension with a field of view of about 1?? inches to 2 inches. As with all Close up schemas, you lose depth of field, but if you shoot coins, rings/ jewelry, or smale scale models, this is a perfect combination. Once set up, it is pretty much a WYSIWYG with an ISO of 125 or 100. Since the camera is unable to hold the iris open while you are composing, if you stop the lens down after composing, then you can adjust your ISO accordingly to improve depth of field, but you will need to resort to a tripod. The only down side is the measuring scale is that it is glued on rather than etched in the rail. A minor detail unless you require compious complete notes to save time on reproducing results as you are more likely to be advancing or reversing the bellows with the left hand knob rather than analyzing a measuring scale. If the right knob set screw is allowed to drag slightly on the rail, you right hand to operate the camer and the bellows will hold position. If you take this into the field, it is not indestructable, however if the camera and bellows are mounted to a rail and the rail then mounted to a tripod, you should do okay if you are careful and mindful of the physics of levers. Also decent lighting of the subject is essential. Relying on the light you can constantly throw on the stage will give you the most predictable results without undue shadows or nasty surprises.

[FUJIFILM X] Although pricey, it is indispensable if using the superb 45-85 mm Pentax 645 zoom lens for close focus and macro at the full zoom range of this lens. Very well made, sturdy, and super smooth helicoid. Other helicoids I bought do not have a throw long enough for the longer end of the zoom range of this lens. If you need a helicoid for your Pentax 645 lenses on your Fujifilm GFX, this is the one to get.
