The FotodioX M42 to MFT Adapter with Macrofrom FotodioX M42 to MFT Adapter with Macrois an all-metal adapter that allows you to connect a M42 screw-mount lens to a Micro Four Thirds body. It is designed for macro focusing, featuring an extendable helicoid that covers focus from infinity to close distances with variable magnification ability depending on the lens. For mounting, the adapter comes with chrome-plated brass mounts that help ensure a tight fit and connection.

Please note that this is a manual adapter, and so any electronic communication between the lens and the camera is disrupted. Any lens without a manual aperture control ring will stop down to its smallest f-stop by default. Manual exposure and metering are still possible with your camera's aperture priority mode.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Hello. If the adapter has a lens 1.4x, does it mean that a Helios 58mm in a Nikon D5600 will become in a 113mm (58 X 1.4 X 1.4) (correction factor of the camera and correction factor of the adapter)?

A: If you are looking for the 35mm equivalent focal length of a full-frame lens with a native 58mm focal length used on a Nikon APS-C sensor with the FotodioX Pro Lens Mount Adapter for M42 Lens to Nikon F Mount Camera, the new equivalent 35mm focal length would be 121.8mm. Your math was close, but in your (58 x 1.4 x 1.4) equation, you mis-typed the camera's crop factor, which is 1.5x. As such, 58mm x 1.4 would be 81.2mm, which is the equivalent focal length when using the Fotodiox adapter on a camera with a full-frame sensor, and you would then multiply 81.2mm x 1.5, which equals 121.8mm, which would be the 35mm equivalent focal length when used on the 1.5x APS crop sensor found in the Nikon D5600 DLSR camera.

Q: 2. Hi there I'm very confused between this one and the one which not mentioned about type (FotodioX M42 Lens to Sony E-Mount Camera Pro Lens Mount Adapter) I have Sony A7iii and Helios 44-2 58mm Which one do I have to buy???

A: This adapter takes M42 screw mount , if your lens is that it will work

Q: 3. Will this adapter allows the Helios 44M 58mm f/2 focus at the infinity?

A: Yes, this adapter supports infinity focus.

Q: 4. Hello, is this adaptador compatible with a Pentacon 50mm f/ 1.8 to mounted on a Fuji XT-1? Or should I use the other type (1) of adaptador?

A: This adapter can work with a Pentacon 50mm f/1.8 lens being that it has an M42 mount.

Q: 5. Thanks for the previous answer but that was not what I was asking. I was asking about compatibility. Fotodiox makes a distinction between Type 1 and Type 2. The answer on the other adapter to a question about compatibility was this: "Possibly, If the aperture pin of your M42-mount lens depresses all the way down, your lens is considered type 2 and this V2 lens mount adapter is compatible with it. However, if your M42-mount lens has no aperture pin, tabs, or levers; or if it has an aperture pin that does not fully depress (small tabs stick out), it is considered a type-1 lens and is compatible with V1 adapters (available separately)." Do I need to worry about that distinction with this adapter?

A: No you don't need to worry about that distinction with this adapter. The adapter is listed as compatible with both M42-mount types.

Q: 6. Is this the correct adapter for Carl Zeiss Jena Biotar 58mm F2 to Nikon D800 ? Will it allow infinity focus?

A: Yes, the FotodioX Pro Lens Mount Adapter for M42 Lens to Nikon F Mount Camera can be used to mount the Carl zeiss Jena Biotar 58mm f2 lens to the Nikon D800 Digital SLR Camera.

Q: 7. is this adapter will work on a revuenon 55mm

A: As long as the version of the Revuenon lens has the M42 mount and you want to attach it to an E mount camera that lens should work with that adapter. Note lens as well as the adapter too is all manual. So no autofocus, f/stops are controlled from the lens not the camera. And you need to use the camera in manual.

Q: 8. Approximately How much mm will be 58mm lens with this adapter?

A: The FotodioX Pro Lens Mount Adapter for M42 Lens to Nikon F Mount Camera has a 1.4x multi-coated focus correction lens. As such, you would have to multiply the focal length of the M42 lens you use with the above adapter by 1.4x to find your full-frame equivalent focal length. As such, a 58mm lens would have the equivalent focal length of a 81.2mm lens as 58mm x 1.4 = 81.2mm.

Q: 9. Other Fotodiox M42 adapters specify Type1 or Type 2 depending on if the the lens has an aperture pin or if that pin depresses all the way down (e.g. see Q&A on FotodioX M42-FXRF-V2). Is that the same for this adapter? Thanks!

A: The Fotodiox M42 has no coupling or manual way to control the 42mm lens. The aperture and focus must be controled by you.

Q: 10. Is this compatible with m42 smc takumar f1.8 to fuji x camera?

A: This mount will take any m42 screw mount lens such as you mentioned and mount it to a Fujifilm X mount camera. Happy shooting.

[Metal, Brass] The item works very well. I put it on the lens, then on the camera and I was shooting immediately. It's like the lens itself is a C-mount.
I chose this adaptor over a slightly cheaper on because it's made of brass and not aluminum. I figure with my heavy lens that the aluminum might some day start sagging and brass wouldn't. (Just a guess on my part.)

[3.15 x 3 x 1.4"] How refreshing to find a company that actually does what you pay for.. The Fotodiox adapter allows me to mount lenses on my Pentax Q which give immense focal length due to the Q's crop factor. This is allowing me to enter the revered world of bird photography on a budget. My Sigma 500mm lens becomes a 2400mm lens. I watched this on Graham Barker and Graham Houghtons YouTube channel and they both used the Fotodiox adapter. And guess what? It works!

[0.315 lb] This is the th least expensive M42 lens to Pentax Q mount adapter. Focusing to infiniti seems to be no problem. I used three lenses 50mm 135mm and 28mm. Focusing was easy and sharp. M42 lenses are relatively cheap and extreemely popular. M42 mount was used from Zeiss to Pentax! I still own eight of those lenses. Very recomended adapter. Price better....
