The 4x1 3G/HD/SD-SDI ASD Switcher with GPI Option from Link Electronics is a four-input video switcher that provides a convenient, low-cost way to route high definition and standard definition serial digital signals. This switcher is compatible with 270 Mb/s, 1.5 Gb/s, and 3 Gb/s serial digital interface signals. It can also be used for ASI and SMPTE 310M (19.4 Mb/s) signals, and the reclocking will be automatically be turned off. This switcher automatically equalizes the incoming SDI signal, compensating for greater than 1,000‘ of cable at 270 Mb/s, greater than 250’ of cable at 1.485 Gb/s, and greater than 100’ of cable at 2.97 Gb/s. The signal is then reclocked, with automatic rate detection for all popular data rates. The LEDs on the front panel indicate the data rate of the output video.

This multi-definition SDI 4x1 video switcher is capable of equalizing and reclocking all common serial digital signals, since it supports both standard and high definition signals. This makes it suitable for any application. The switcher’s versatility is illustrated by its ability to switch from SD to HD, SD to 3G, HD to 3G, and vice-versa. Another feature of this switcher is its ability to vertical interval switch when the inputs are synchronous. Vertical interval switching means that the switching takes place in the vertical interval of the video and therefore no glitch is seen in the active area of the video.

The 4x1 3G/HD/SD-SDI Switcher is a 1 RU chassis that is housed in the same case as the well-accepted 700 series. A black front panel distinguishes between the two series. Three 500 or 700 series can be mounted in the PRT-700 rack tray (sold separately).

A: The monitors are very similar to one another. The P7 comes in at a slightly higher weight than the FW279, but overall the differences are negligible.

Q: 2. When I convert from sdi to hdmi, does the multivew still work?

A: Yes, if you need to convert the SDI output of the Blackmagic Design ATEM SDI Pro ISO Switcher to HDMI so that you can work with an HDMI display on hand, it will still show the Multiview display. A: The clean feed of all the inputs can be recorded when using the switcher for ISO recording. There's no 'clean program' option as an output on this model. Yes, you can output 2 different sources on the 2 SDI outputs on this Blackmagic Design ATEM SDI Pro ISO Switcher .

Q: 5. What D/S key capability does this unit have?

A: The Blackmagic Design ATEM SDI Pro ISO Switcher downstream Keys are Luminance keys. The SDI Pro ISO has one DSK.

Q: 6. For the Pro SDI ISO can you have Multiview output on 1 SDI output and Clean Program on the other SDI output?

A: Yes, the Blackmagic ATEM Pro SDI has SDI outputs that are individually configurable.

Q: 7. Has anyone installed this monitor in a 17" deep rack case? I see conflicting answers. Please advise from someone who's installed

Q: 8. Can you input HMDI and output HDMI and SDI at the same time?

A: the loop out will work from one input to another (Loop-Through HDMI and 3G-SDI Outputs) but it isn't possible to do both at the same time

Q: 9. does the zoom function appear on the hdmi output?

A: Not that we are aware of. The outputs on this monitor are loop-through outputs only and should only display what you input in to the unit originally.

Q: 10. How does this camera do in low-light/IR situations?

A: The camera Marshall Electronics CV346 would work well in low light or in IR setups. Here are some of the cameras settings for Night mode. MODE: Set camera to either color mode or B&W mode. (Day, Night) DAY: When set to DAY mode, camera stays in color and IR cut filter is engaged. NIGHT: When set to NIGHT mode, camera stays in B&W and IR cut filter is removed. NIGHT COLOR: When on, camera stays on color mode. Night (B&W) can be selected from this mode. (On, Off)

[3.43 lb] I was skeptical that this was actually going to work, but it said it passed 3-G SDI signal in an 8x8 format matrix. AND IT WORKS GREAT! Easy to install, operate and best of all- delivers! And at a fraction of the cost of several other SDI matrix brands. I have my iMac, Security Camera Feeds, and Black Magic SSD Recorder hooked up to this (HDMI to SDI converter) all going to 7 Televisions and 1 Projector (SDI to HDMI converted) all giving off a great HD picture. I recommend it. 5

[BNC] setup was a breeze - I don't care about the 'auto' setting, so I turned it off. The only complaint I have at this point is that the status lights on the front panel are much brighter than they need to be. I haven't played with the audio options yet - this is for switching a 4K monitor between a couple of computers and (future use) one or two cameras, so audio is much less important for me 5

[75 Ohms] Had to send HD-sdi to some older displays in our balcony that are fed from 5-bnc. Had to cycle through the resolutions to find the best one, but it works great, and we were able to take out an old scaler that was messing with the image!! 5

[BNC] I've gone through so many SDI Cables, but this cable is by far the best cable I've used for my RED Gemini and my FX6 like hands down the best cable. I ordered 2 more as backups as everyone on set just falls in love with these cables. 5

[5 W] I am using it to connect a wireless transmitter to a Sony PMW and it works great. Fits closer to the camera to prevent the cord from snagging or bumping into objects. 5
