Their 10x magnification is ideal for bird watching, hiking, and sightseeing, and the larger 42mm objectives, coupled with multi-coated optics, draw in copious amounts of light versus smaller-objective optics to produce bright and clear images with competent low-light performance. Utilizing an open-bridge/dual-hinge configuration helps to cut weight without sacrificing stability while providing plenty of room to wrap your hands completely around the optical tubes for a better grip.

The combination of long eye relief, wide exit pupil, and twist-up eyecups ensures comfortable use by most people with or without eyewear in all light conditions. The optical tubes are nitrogen-filled and O-ring sealed for water and fogproof performance, so you can be confident bringing them with you anywhere you go. A: You probably can get one from B&H - if not Google Canon and you should be able to get one there.

Q: 2. There are many reviews that complain of decomposing rubber housings. Did Canon fix this issue?

A: I haven't heard of an issue like this in a very long time. I believe the Model has been updated since that issue has occurred. They offer a great Limited 3-Year Warranty that does cover against this kind of Defect.

Q: 3. what is the difference between ultravid hd and trinovid ?

A: The Ultravids are slightly better quality. The build construction is better too. The Ultravids are also made in Germany, and the Trinovid's are made in Portugal.

Q: 4. Are these waterproof? How are they in for use in the rain - will rain damage them?

A: The optical tubes are O-ring sealed and argon filled to be waterproof and resistant to internal fogging if the weather turns or they take an accidental spill in a stream or puddle.

Q: 5. Does this come with the Canon USA warranty?

A: The Canon 10x42 L IS WP Image Stabilized Binocular comes with the Canon Limited 3-Year Warranty.

Q: 6. What case can be purchased for these binoculars?

A: Hi Colleen I own Codyshuttle/Yellowstone Tours. I purchased the Viper 10x42 for use in our tours of Yellowstone Park . If I remember correctly I never purchased an extra case, the case that came with the binoculars has worked great for us .

Q: 7. Whats in the box?

A: Binocular and case. Wide Canon strap for the binocular, plain skinny strap for the case. AA batteries, objective and eyepiece lens caps, a tether for the objective caps, manual, registration card. No cleaning cloth.

[42 mm] Bought these for my 4 year old grandson who hikes and watches the birds in the woodlands of southern New Hampshire. They were inexpensive. They are colorful. They are easy to see because of the yellow. They are small and light and they are optically much better than I expected at the price level. Go Morgan!!!! 5

[4.2 mm] I bought these binoculars for birdwatching. They are built quite well, not too heavy, and are adequately protected. They give me a bright crisp clear image. They are easy to focus, without the centre focus wheel being too easily turned. I would recommend these binoculars especially for those on a tight budget. BH Photo gave good service. Packed the time well for shipping to Australia. I would consider buying from BH Photo again. 5

[2.1 lb] i use this one more often than the other 8 i have even more than my omni 120 telecope great for views of the milky way in saggitarius/scorpius cygnus area. also the great orion nebula is a sight. i esp like the big wide field eye piece which shows as many stars as possible in one field 5

[4.2 mm] These are great binoculars for the money spent!!! Orderer them through B&H photo in New York,Very fast deliverycame a day earlier than expected the imaging through these bino's,very small trace colorations around the edges but not enough to hinder the view by far. The image attached was taken through these mounted to a Sunpak medium duty tripod 6630 LX, also ordered through B&H photo as well, these two items work perfectly together, and using a cell phone through an adapter. The only editing that was done was a slight contrast adjustment. 5

[15 mm] Upside: I have used my Barska 10x42 Level ED Waterproof Binoculars for birding and other wildlife observations having owned multiple other binoculars of high quality made with expensive glass and in accordance with established, high-end specifications and standards. This Barska ED version cost less, is comfortable in my grip and feels solid. The quality is comparable to other brands costing $500-$1,000. There does not appear to be any compromise on the same, important specs. I am getting the same brightness, definition performance and field reliability I had for binoculars costing hundreds more. Other Considerations: These are full size binoculars (not the giant kind however). They are made with quality materials. As such, they may be experienced as being on the heavy side by some users, particularly those who are frail or elderly or if they are used over extended periods during a long day of hiking and birding. I'm in my mid 60's and in reasonable shape and I seem to do okay with them on extended bird outings. Conclusions: I highly recommend this model to serious wildlife observers. These are not cheap knock-offs. You're getting more than you paid for or a good value; especially if you shop around for a better deal when special buys are made or when sales are available. B&H is a quality vendor having competitive pricing and excellent customer service. Best Wishes 5

[4.2 mm] This Binocular comes with 30x lens the highest magnification lens you can get without a zoom. All Zoom Binoculars gets a darker view after 25x, so the higher the zoom, the darker the view gets. But this Binoculars comes with Professional 80mm Objective Lens that brings in all the light needed to get a clear view of anything small or large. You will need a tripod to hold this one still but its worth getting. It comes with a professional case and B&H delivers on-time. 5
