Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this gimbal support the setup of Sony A7III with sony lens 24-105mm F.4? will this come with sony cable? Will the zoom button work with the lens 24-105mm ? Thank you

A: The Sony A7III and the Sony 24-105mm F4 lens are both on the compatibility list with the Ronin-S. You will be able to balance that combination of camera and lens. However this kit does not include any cables. You will need to purchase B&H # DJRONINP13CB which is the DJI Ronin-S Multi-Camera Control Cable (Sony Multi Port). However the 24-105mm is not a servo zoom lens. https://bhpho.to/2DZF5sE

Q: 2. Is camera control available for the Nikon D780?

A: We're afraid not. The D780 is not on DJI's list of compatible cameras for control.

Q: 3. What features of the Ronin-S will work with my D7500? How will I know when full compatibility will be available. If I buy a Ronin-S now with limited functionality, will it be upgraded later?

A: The D7500 has not been determined to be compatible regarding connectivity. Balancing and normal use should be no issue, but we are currently working on expanding the compatibility list.

Q: 4. Is C100 Mark II compatible?

A: This gimbal is designed to work with Mirrorless and DSLR cameras. However you still may be able to balance a camera like the C100 Mark II on it. More than likely you will need to remove the top handle from the C100 Mark II and you may not have the full range of motion with the gimbal when using it. However because of this gimbals 8 pound load capacity it is still possible to balance it.

Q: 5. Hi I m not sure whether my ronin is gen1 or gen2. Can I upload my ronin pictures & pls help to identify whether my ronin is gen1 or gen2

A: The 1st Generation Ronin has a square mount, while the 2nd generation has an angled mount. You are more than welcomed to email images to us at askbh@bhphotovideo.com if you feel that would be helpful.

Q: 6. Does the DJI Ronin-S support canon G30, G40, XA35, or similar cameras?

A: We have not tested those specific cameras, but there shouldn't be any specific balancing and mounting issues. Some longer cameras, especially those with eyecups, can hit the roll motor when tilting up.

Q: 7. Will it work with a Canon XA-35?

A: Ignacio, Lukas S is correct. The size and weight of that camera is no problem, but you would not get control compatibility.

Q: 8. Is the weight of 4.1 pounds including the battery and tripod grip, or is that without those items attached?

A: The 4.1 pound weight is in reference to the entire gimbals (sans camera), including the grip (the battery is internal, apart of the main grip) and the tripod legs.

Q: 9. is the Ronin s compatible with the Canon 1300D? And does the follow focus work with it too? please help me it my first gimbal purchase

A: Yes, this will work.

Q: 10. It the follow focus compatible with the Canon 5D mark 4?

A: Yes it is compatible when using the MCC-Mini cable (not included in the box).

[0.41 lb] If your camera is an odd fit on the Ronin, you'll probably want these. These extension arms easily screw on to the bottom of the Ronin to give you a little more wiggle room in balancing the camera. I would note, however, you may want to remove these for storage of your Ronin, as they are too long to allow the stabilizer to fold completely flat.

[0.41 lb] Solid replacement for the original DJI part that often breaks. A little heavier but worth the extra weight and cost. Ships with replacement bolts as well.

[0.41 lb] This allows me to use my RED Dragon with battery on the back and a LMB-5 mattebox and filters....I even used my DP s Sony F55 ! This really makes the Ronin so much more usable. a bit pricy but totally worth it. Since I dont have to buy IDX slim batteries or the freefly side plate.

[0.41 lb] Perfect fit, perfect measurements. As such the product I use this to take the camera off the DJI Ronin and put it on a tripod without having to remove the Ronin Baseplate. Saves a lot of time as I am constantly switching back and forth between Ronin and sticks.

[0.41 lb] The machining is very precise so getting it to fit took some work in terms of getting the price to sit in place while screwing it in but I eventually got them on. The wires on. The robin thankfuy extends when you pull them out of the long crease held in by plastic tabs.

[0.41 lb] I can now rig my Ronin up with bigger and longer setups. Great for using heavy cinema lenses and having the space to counter balance. Great product!

[0.41 lb] I got these several years ago and came by to send the link to a fellow looking to modify his rig so I thought Id leave a review while here. Installation was a bit challenging because of the wiring on the Ronin so get a pal to help you. Still, it wasnt difficult. You will probably want the extender for the upper arm as well. The only drawback is you will have to modify the foam in your case to it will fit. Nothing a box knife on the foam wont take care of. Ive found I can still fly DSLRs with no problem either. Highly recommend it. Its a highly machined piece so dont complain about the price. You get what you pay for in this business.

[0.41 lb] With these extenders it is now possible to use a Canon c100 and c100II on the Ronin-M. Without them, there is not enough clearance on the top to install and balance camera. There is still limited travel, however. Under slung mode on the Ronin works perfectly, over slung works if you fiddle with it. Briefcase mode didn't work at all because of clearance issues. Both cameras eyepieces restrict tilt. The c100 has better clearance than the mark II because of the smaller eyepiece. The Ronin motors did not seem stressed with the heavier camera. I did a 5 hour shoot in a concert setting... this is a much better rig than using a steadicam....by far
