Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is there a white diffuser cover that is designed to fit the Angler umbrella? Like those made to cover parabolic umbrellas?

A: Unfortunately, a white diffusion cover is not offered for this product.

Q: 2. Can I use this umbrella as a bounce with a GVM SD650B Pro?

A: Yes, the Impact 7' Parabolic 3 Umbrella Kit is compatible with the GVM Pro SD650B Bi-Color LED Monolight (650W). However, this light does not have an umbrella mount.

Q: 3. What are the dimensions of this case? Is it slotted?

A: The only information from Cavision is boom pole double tube carrying case. Dimensions - length 45.27".

Q: 4. The pictures don't really show it but are these fiberglass ribs, that are more durable?

Q: 5. Can I use this product with speedlight SB-900 without strobe?

A: well i have 3 speedlight and this thing is a bit biger, the light is not enought...

Q: 6. What is beaded silver, and how is it different from any other silver umbrella?

A: A beaded silver umbrella would have increased contrast over a bright silver non-beaded umbrella. The effect would generally result in sharper shadows and brighter highlights.

Q: 7. Where is B&H getting that this umbrella is safe for up to 1000 watts? Westcott's specifications web page for this item says the maximum is 300 watts.

A: I have seen other stores say the same thing as B&H rated at 1000 watts. My lights are 640 watt strobes and being a strobe there is no heat to speak of because the flash is so quick. My shoots will typically be around 300 hundred shots with zero issues. Continuous lights or hot lights as they are commonly called might be another thing.

Q: 8. How does this compare to the westcott 7' umbrella, and how does the diffusion materials compare?

A: The Impact 7' Improved Parabolic Umbrella (Silver) has more reflective material with texture on the inside while Westcott 7' Umbrella (Silver) has smooth texture and could be described as a coated silver.

Q: 9. what is the shaft diameter for Broncolor, 7mm or 8mm?

A: The Broncolor Umbrella White/Black 105 cm (41.3") BH #BRU105WB uses the standard 8mm shaft size.

Q: 10. When the 45 umbrella is in horizontal what will be the size in height?

A: i have the 60 inch and when horizontal, the other dimension is 40 inches

[Silver] Few things are more then this simple on a set. These umbrellas are robustly build and function as one would expect. Worth the price? Sure why not.

[Silver] I bought this because I actually want a Para-series. There arent many reviews as to what or how the Focus 110 does compared to other Broncolor modifiers but its the the same/similar to what Profoto Deep Silver umbrellas do but slightly (or significantly, depending on discounts) cheaper. The Profoto equivalent is the Medium / 41.

Build-quality is excellent -after working with budget brand umbrellas for over a decade I am pretty much sold on purchasing only professional-quality modifiers from here-on.

I think my only disappointment is that Broncolor doesnt make a larger Focus -Ill have to wade into Profoto waters to get to 65.

[2 lb] I purchased two of these from B&H after one of my 10+ years old umbrellas was smashed in a fall. Thankfully the monolight survived. The light quality is beautiful as would be expected from Broncolor. Note that some key components are made of plastic rather than metal. Time will tell how well these umbrellas hold up. They are shipped with a well made protective bag. I am glad that I made the purchase.

[34.8 x 4.2 x 2"] A good medium sized softbox that can easily be packed away with the rotalux system. The case that comes with it is solid too. Overall a great softbox that can be used with any brand strobe. Just get the speed ring for your brand of strobe.
