A: Unfortunately the silicone skin would get in the way and not allow you to connect the battery grip.

A: Yes this would help protect against bumps/scratches or water droplets.

A: The camera's 3.5mm audio input only offers one channel. If you have 2 speakers with independent mics you can use a mixer and adjust the volume level in Real-time recording. If you need independent channels you need an audio recorder instead.

Q: 4. Would this one work for the D5100 model? I did not see one available for this model.

A: There is no issue with oil spots on the sensor.

Q: 10. It appears there is no built-in flash. Is that correct?

A: Metz makes a great flash for Nikon TTL with a 24GN, which is good enough for most situations. All built-in falshes on Nikons are GN12, There are larger Metz and look at the Bolt flashes at B&H or any other for under $89. They are just as good and much cheaper than the camera brands.

[2] The writing is very small, if you can't read VERY small print, I recommend having an inexpensive magnifying glass with you in order to read it, maybe one that lights up if you are going to be out at night. I know my camera well enough that I didn't really think that I needed this, but it has come in handy! I highly recommend it! 5
