Power your camera continually, and without interruption, with the Tether Tools ONsite Relay Power Kit for Sony NP-FW50 Camerasfrom Tether Tools. Equipped with a built-in 7.4V, 1,200mAh lithium battery and a 5 VDC input via USB, this system will provide power, while being connected to an external power source for a nearly constant source. When connected to a 2A USB battery pack or an AC adapter, the ONsite Relay can still be able to provide a constant supply of power to your camera, and thanks to the internal battery the system will support hot swapping of external power sources. An LED indicator light will shift from green to yellow to red to show battery percentage so that you will not accidentally lose power during a long time lapse or video production. This system is compatible with numerous camera systems through the use of a separately available coupler. This coupler fits into the battery compartment of your camera and acts as a dummy battery to supply power.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. How to power shogun recorder that uses Sony L series batts?

A: Hi there. I bought the kit for my Sony a6300 which uses NP FW50 battery, a much smaller battery in size as compared to the L-series battery. I am not sure if TetherTools make the same thing for L-series battery. Best way is to check with TetherTools direct. Good Luck.

Q: 2. Does anyone have experience using this system with the Nikon D750?

A: The Tether Tools Relay Camera Coupler for Nikon Cameras with EN-EL15C Battery with the Tether Tools Case Relay Camera Power System works great with the Nikon D7500. You could use any battery with a usb port. The Power System has a built-in battery that will allow you to change batteries without losing power to the camera. You could also use this system for AC power by adding a USB to AC adapter.

Q: 3. Does this come with the AC adapter?

A: No, the Case Relay Power System does not come with an AC adapter.

Q: 4. Will this work with a Canon EOS R?

A: No, to use the Case Relay Power System with the Canon EOS R, the required battery coupler is the CRCE6 coupler.

Q: 5. Could this in theory power up a BMDPCC 4K which uses the same LPE6 battery model?

A: The Case Relay Power System will not power the BMDPCC. The issue is that this camera requires 12v power. And the Case Relay operates between 7-9v and would not be able to sufficiently power this camera.

Q: 6. Does this work with A7S III and FX3 without the battery warning? The two cameras mentioned would spit "the operation and safety of this battery cannot be guaranteed, continue" warning on most third party batteries and couplers.

A: If you use the Tether Tools Relay Camera Coupler for Sony Cameras with NP-FZ100 Battery with the Tether Tools Case Relay Camera Power System Both cameras are fully compatible and they won't display the warning message.

Q: 7. Does this have a 5.5/2.5 mm size connector?

A: Yes, it has a 5.5 od and a 2.5 id.

Q: 8. The description says its only compatible with 3 sony cameras. Would this work with any sony camera that uses an fz100 battery?

A: Under the Compatibility section we list the current cameras this will work with. It is more than three at this time.

Q: 9. What kind of connector is on the end of the cable?

A: It's a proprietary connector that is designed to only connect to the Tether Tools Case Replay Camera Power System. The Coupler is merely the lightweight battery that fits into your camera, with a connector to the external power supply.

Q: 10. When camera/coupler/Tether Tool is operating, suggestions of how to keep battery drain from exceeding the simultaneous charging? I have found it will not do both at the same time. Thanks.

A: It works for me. Keep in mind you have to use a power bank or charger that outputs at least 2 amps (the one i use is 2.1 amps). I tried with a power bank that only outputs 1 amp initially and that gave me the same problem as you have.

[8 VDC, 2 A] This unit plugs into the battery compartment of my Sony A7S II. I use a USB power supply to power this and it runs for hours, perhaps 4 hours. I haven't tested it yet on a real video gig but I'm hopeful this will do the trick. If you already have a USB battery pack then just plug this think into it and put the dummy battery into your compatible Sony camera.

[0.54 lb] Coupled with the camera appropriate cable, this system works great. If you do long time-lapses it is a must have. If your external power-pack is running low simply switch it to a new one without the camera losing power. I'm probably going to pick up another system for my wife's camera.

[7.6 x 7 x 1.45"] When live-streaming with my Sony camera, changing camera batteries every 30 min wasn't workable. This is the SOLUTION. Of course, you will need a fake battery for your camera that attaches to the Case Relay Power System. I get PERFECT, instant power, and I never have to worry about batteries again while I am on-line doing virtual presentations. LOVE IT!

[8 VDC, 2 A] As every sony a7s owner I have problems dealing with poor battery life. This system works perfect for using external batteries with the camera and stop suffering for ridiculous battery life.

[8 VDC, 2 A] I do a lot of night photography that includes meteor showers, time-lapse, and eclipse tracking. Changing batteries means lost frames, missed meteors, etc. For years, I have used DIY external battery solutions where I bought the components and soldered them together. This product makes that unnecessary. This is well thought out and allows hot-swapping of external phone chargers to keep the camera running. A typical 10,000 mAh battery pack will run the camera all night.

[7.6 x 7 x 1.45"] Well packaged, very straightforward to use. I love that it holds an internal charge allowing you to hotswap batteries while still shooting. I've been using it for night timelapses. I can just set my intervalometer, plug in the case relay and go to sleep while my camera shoots all night long.

[8 VDC, 2 A] So far, these work really well. No issues yet. Haven’t gotten a chance to extensively test it out, as my last start shoot was cut short due to clouds and smoke in the air.

[7.6 x 7 x 1.45"] This product is incredibly smart. It works so well, and even comes with the internal battery charged. I love the freedom it gives you. Partnered with a high capacity battery pack (external battery) it is an awesome workhorse. It gives me a lot of time to use my camera without having to recharge small batteries.

[0.54 lb] I use the case relay to power my Sony A7RII while Im shooting a timelapse. Even when the camera shows the low battery warning the camera keeps running. I did some really long timelapses with it. The battery of the camera only let me record a 3 hours timelapse, but with the case relay there is no limit. The longest timelapse I did had about 8 hours, but I know that with this product Im able to do a 24 hours timelapse very easily.
