The RIG-VARICAMLTOR is a large, rigid-frame protective carrying case with removable off-road wheels. The case's Shoot-Readysymbol design allows for the camera rig to be transported with minimal or no breakdown of the rig components. The case walls are constructed of lightweight, rigid, hollow-core plastic that maximizes protection without being too heavy. The main compartment is accessed via strong YKKsymbol zippers and a secure Velcro-fastened front flap.
There are two large exterior accessory pockets and a front slip pocket for various quick-need items. The RIG-3SRKOR comes with a retractable handle and off-road wheels that are removable to prevent axle damage during air travel. The wheel system has solid rubber tires, ball-bearings for extra-smooth rolling over almost any surface, and solid-steel axles for reliable strength and performance.
This large and flexible case is durable and complete with accessory items that will assure your gear is held safely and comfortably in place. The case is made from rugged 1000 denier Cordura and features 1" thick padding surrounding a hollow-core plastic frame. The bottom is bolstered by a layer of waterproof rubber to assist with ground protection. It's carried by wheeling or using its two top suede leather carry handles or an optional HB-1040 suede leather shoulder strap.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Has anyone flown with strobe heads packed in this? Looking for an all in one in terms of lighting gear for flight. Comparing this to the Think Tank Production 40. I've got three einstein heads, some stands and a couple small soft boxes.

A: This is a well protected and padded case. If you use it to transport lights they would be safe. The interior dimensions are 39 Long x 12 Wide x 12 High, you would just want to measure out your gear before making the purchase to make sure that is adequate space.

Q: 2. Is there a difference in material and the degree of water resistance between the black and grey versions of the Vault V525?

A: Both the Pelican Vault V525WD Wheeled Case with Padded Dividers (Gray, 25L) and the black version are weather resistant and are made of the same material.

Q: 3. Does the camera fit in the case with the battery grip attachment?

A: No, the SKB iSeries Case for Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro was not designed to accommodate a BMPCC 6k Pro with the battery grip attached.

Q: 4. will the Sony PXW Z190 fit in this case with accessories?

A: This will be a very tight fit for the Z190. Instead I would look at something a bit larger, such as the Arco Video Dr. Bag 30, B&H # ARCSD30B. This bag will be able to handle the Z190 and accessories. https://bhpho.to/2xRoYaa

Q: 5. Does it have a strap to fit on top of a rolling bag?

A: There is a shoulder strap on the PortaBrace Cinema Compact Soft Case for Assembled Cine-Style Camera that can be used to fit onto a rolling bag.

Q: 6. Does an H5 with foam and a dead kitten fit inside the Porta Brace AR-ZH5 Case?

A: Hi Dan, there is enough velcro straps to do about anything you want. It's almost annoying. LOL Cheers

Q: 7. Will this fit 3 Litepanels Astra 1000 1x1 panels, as it claims?

A: Yes this bag can accommodate 3 Litepanels Astra units.

Q: 8. Does this come with 2 15mm rails?

A: This Matte Box will not come with 15mm Rails. However we have a wide assortment of products with 15mm rails that you will be able to use this with, such as B&H Numbers INDIB, RESR1500 and GLRR100.

Q: 9. Will the bag work for a FX6 video set up?

A: Yes, the PortaBrace CS-DV4 Camcorder Case will fit the Sony FX6 with a 24-105mm lens.

Q: 10. How many regular light stands could this carry?

A: We currently use 3 heavy-duty Avenger light stands in there, with plenty of room to spare. I think you could easily get 2 more of these large stands in with no problem. If you're talking about smaller, thinner stands, I'd estimate 7-8 or more. My one piece of advice would be to get the version of this bag with wheels. We did not and it can get pretty heavy and bulky real quick.

[Carrying bag] This pack is built for large projects requiring cameras, lights, audio recorders, and batteries. Yep, it can handle all of these items with no problem, you need to ask yourself if your back can handle lifting all the gear at one time!

[Yes] I love this case. We use it for all of our gear for producing a portable sports show. I was able to divide the inside of the case for our purposes and it works great. Very durable and can hold a lot of heavy equipment. Wheels work great. Handles are great. I love it. It is heavy and takes a lot of space, so be prepared.

[Yes] I originally bought a Smith-Victor rolling case (B&H # SMCW), but now wish I had bought this Porta Brace case first.

The PB wheels are wider apart, meaning the case is more stable than the SV case when rolling. The SV case tends to wobble from side to side (or even tip over) unless you're on a smooth surface. And the SV case has cheapo wheels that tend to break easily. The PB wheels are larger, more durable, and on steel axles. Much better.

One thing not immediately apparent from the product info is that the PB case, like the SV case, has a telescoping handle for pulling the case behind you. I think the PB handle is a bit better made, but they are both adequate.

Size-wise, the cases are close to identical.

I'm very pleased with the quality of this product.

[1000D Cordura] I purchased this case for a long (approximately 1 meter) refractor telescope--(Takahashi TSA120N, with the non-retractable dew shield). I added 1 inch foam padding on the bottom, put some more foam padding in the long side pockets, and voila--I have the perfect case. This thing is VERY well made and has some internal straps by which to secure the scope.

[For camcorder] At the end of the day, all these type of bags are limited by how much you can lift, but this is excellent quality. Expensive (probably too expensive) at full price, but much better value on sale. I'd certainly trust it in an aircraft hold as long as it wasn't too stuffed full.

[For camcorder] I've been looking for a case like this for a while. I have a Sony F5 with an Angenieux 25-250, MB, FF on other accessories. This bag is big enough where I can configure the camera in advance and safely transport it locally. That way, on location I can pull it out and start shooting with out too much fussing. There is plenty of extra room for camera mounted mics, monitors, cables and other goodies so the kit is self contained. But be aware, this is a big bag. You are not going to throw this over your shoulder heading out the door. Thank goodness it has wheels.

[1000D Cordura] I love B&H sales as much I love good gear cases. Porta brace never lets me down and this bag is no exception. I'm able to fit 2 Intellytech LC 160's with a small LED panel, all the gear and reverse foldable light stands in this case. The wheels and handle work great.

[Zipper] We bought this bag so we could consolidate our field gear into something that was easily transportable. It was tremendously helpful to be able to customize the interior panels for a tight fit. The zipper pockets are great for storing hard drives and other production accessories. The case is made from extremely durable material... exactly what you would expect from Porta Brace.
