[1.35 lb] I upgraded my home editing setup to include a neutral gray surround for color grading. A little research led me to this product and it has proven to be a great choice.

The lights are D65 and high CRI (the key factors). Additionally, they are dimmable, though I honestly doubt I will ever use them below their full strength. The light reflected off the wall isn't super-bright, but that's correct (and comfortable) for bias lighting. Because these are strip lights (as opposed to some bars or tubes that I looked at), If you wanted a brighter surround for a smaller area (one or two monitors), you could double up the strip as needed. Similarly, where my monitors are not all the same distance from the wall (due to angles and corners), I was able to even out the brightness along the wall by mounting the strip on the back of the monitors in one place and on the monitor support arm (closer to the wall) in others. I considered adding some kind of diffusion, but I found that the large quantity of LEDs does a reasonable job of spreading the light.

The sensor (receiver "eye") for the remote control is on a short pigtail, which meant that even though I wanted all cables out of sight, I was able to have that part poke around the front so the remote control can see it - and the remote works quite reliably.

Just for fun, I tried some other power sources and dimmers, none of which worked. I recommend using the Medialight as designed with the included components.

Considering that the least expensive strip light on Amazon is around $20 (and the light from that product is terrible (in both color and brightness), the Medialight price is pretty easy to justify.

[Aluminum] If you have a cage, this will relocate the port on the OG BMPCC and also convert it to full size HDMI. Great way to protect the fragile mini HDMI port on the camera.

[1.35 lb] This light comes in handy on set in all sorts of ways and takes different types of bulbs/Kelvin. I use it on every shoot, as it provides great soft fill light but can be used as a key as well.

[Cage] High quality product, well worth the premium price. Easy to
install, even left the 65 TV on its wall bracket while installing.
Cleaned the back of the cabinet with alcohol, then installed. Great adhesive, and corners were easy to make the 90 degree turns. Lights are very bright, remote works great as well for adjusting brightness. The included adhesive cable clips came in handy for keeping wiring neat and tidy. Highly recommended! Thanks MediaLight!

[1.35 lb] Did a talking head shoot last week with one of these, a 300 watt Arri fresnel and a reflector. These come apart (though the instructions do not mention it) and compact down greatly. It will take you about 3 minutes to put it back together when it comes time for the shoot. Managed to fit the two mentioned lights and reflector in an Anvil briefcase. Sure beats dragging a big kit around. The flexibility of these lights make them desirable for the kit. Works great on their side as an uplight, placed on a counter top as a fill, or even a key. They do get a bit hot. They come with a 500 watt bulb, but I suggest trying something a bit smaller. They also are standard with a Mogul base, and the smaller base adapter is included. I will try a 250 watt next time, so I don't have to diffuse down as much. Also, try putting a piece of straw gel around them. Works great.

[1.35 lb] This is such an amazing device. I have it on all my monitors, and I'm buying it for the 3rd or 4th time because I include this strip when selling my used monitors. It helps a lot in maintaining the white point and brightness level at the right spot for color grading. I highly recommend it.

[Cage] The unit creates a wonderful 3-5k halo rim/feather back-light. Also dubs as a wonderful pool/poker table light and for my most used feature - a miraculous low lamp (horror or extreme drama) ground lit masking of subject (front or behind). Everyone needs to have this one in their arsenal.

[1.35 lb] It is just the right length to get the fragile smaller HDMI out of the camera safely and then transformed to a full size cable.

[Cage] It's very easy to install. Comes with everything you need (minus an USB-C to USB-A adaptor for my case).
