Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this come with the necessary brackets to use it rack mounted?

A: yes.

Q: 2. will rack ears alone support this unit's 50 POUNDS? seems like rails would be required to not damage the rack or equipment.

A: Yes, the rack ears that are included with the CyberPower CPS1500AVR Smart App Equipped Uninterrupted Power Supply BH #CYPS1500AVR are able to hold if properly secured. A rail kit is available separately if you prefer that. CyberPower 4POSTRAIL Rackmount Rail Kit B&H # CY4POSTRAIL

Q: 3. Will this support Windows 10?

A: Yes, it's just a UPS (nothing to do with OS's), you can use it with or without management software.

Q: 4. Does this have the two front usb charge ports (type-c and type-a) 3.1A?

A: No, unfortunately this item would not contain any front facing USB type-c, and type-a ports.

Q: 5. Could this unit supply enough power for a CPAP breathing device. If so, for how long? Does it have a standard plug in portal so that I could plug in my device to this power supply?. This unit would give me the ability to breath during a black out. Please advise. Thanks.

A: You should consult the manufacturer of your breathing devise for this. I am an electronic engineering technician and to service or work on any medical equipment takes a special licensing. Medical equipment is extremely finicky and your life could depend on it, so don't take any advise form the internet; you never know who is answering you. Only the manufacturer of your breathing devise can properly advise you for back up, go to them and get what they tell you need.

Q: 6. What are the benefits of having a UPS with pure sine wave as opposed to a UPS with a stepped approximation to sine wave?

A: For most devices simulated sine wave is adequate. However, if you are backing up a device with an Active PFC (power factor correction) supply they require pure sine wave to operate correctly. Active PFC supplies are considerably more efficient than standard power supplies but need a clean input.

Q: 7. Will this work with Mac OS X, like the CyberPower Rackmount CPS1500AVR?

A: Not at this time. The PowerPanel power management software has been fully tested and is compatible with Windows 8 32/64, Windows 7 32/64, Vista 32/64, XP 32/64, 2000, 2003, Server 2008 and Server 2012.

Q: 8. Can the included PowerPanel software automatically shut down connected PCs in the event of a power failure?

A: Yes, it can. Accord to Cyber Power's website, "connect your UPS via USB or serial cable to your computer or storage device and install PowerPanel® software to automate a graceful shutdown when there’s a power outage. PowerPanel will trigger the operating system to shutdown, save all open files, and help prevent data corruption or data loss."

Q: 9. Will this be sufficient to power a 16 core 2019 Mac Pro 7,1?

A: Assuming a power load of about 400 Watts for the computer and one monitor, this CyberPower 1500 VA Smart App LCD UPS would run for about 30 minutes. (calculator: https://bit.ly/3Rn2G8S).

Q: 10. What's the point of a 1 minute UPS?

A: In an event where power shuts off suddenly, a computer can crash and data can be lost. A UPS can give you time to shut off safely.

[Yes] I say so far because i have not lost power yet to test battery backup, but seems to be functioning as it should for power and surge protection. It has plenty of power for computer, monitor, printer, modem to remain on for 300 minutes if I read the display correctly. I like the power stabilization especially if I have to go to generator power during a hurricane or other outage

[120 VAC ] I'm using this to backup our 75 inch TV. It's able to last 10 minutes which is plenty enough time to power down when the power goes out.

[12.5 lb] So far, so good.

[11 Minutes] I've only had the unit for about a week but so far so good. It's whisper quiet. I have a 4 bay NAS, workstation desktop and 24 monitor connected to the battery and it's indicating 35 minutes of battery time and only 19% load capacity - not bad. I like the fact that it regulates the incoming voltage and also have my main laptop hooked up. Overall I'm very pleased so far.

[12.5 lb] This was a replacement for another/aging UPS unit by another vendor. Very happy with the performance and overall operation. This is my third CyberPower 1000 unit running at the home office and the two other/older UPS units still work great (I test them periodically to make sure the batteries are still strong enough). Not the cheapest UPS on the market but it does exactly what it needs to (reliably and well).

[Yes] If you have a Server the software that Cyberpower provides will work to provide a graceful shutdown. Bought a similar product by APC and found out that they no longer support Server shutdowns. Installed this on 2019 Server STD edition.

[4 ms] This is my first UPS. The instruction manual is a little weak and you will have to go online and find the CyberPower UPS utility software. The size seems to be reasonable given the 9 output outlets. I tested it by unplugging it and running the battery down with my desktop, 2 LCD monitors, printer, and USB Hub. I would definitely recommend it and buy it again.
