Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can this hold a lighter strobe like a Godox SK400 for indoors use? Wanted to buy 2 of these for background lights

A: Yes. The Godox SK400II Studio Flash Monolight weighs 4.6 lb (2.1 kg). As the Manfrotto Alu Air-Cushioned Compact Stand (Black, 7.7') has a maximum load capacity of 11 lb (5 kg), it will be able to support the weight of the Godox SK400II monolight fixture.

Q: 2. Can I attach an S bracket to this stand so I can attach my godox speed light and beauty dish to it?

A: Yes, the Impact Heavy-Duty Air-Cushioned Light Stand (Black, 9.5') is compatible with the Godox S-Type Speedlite Bracket for Bowens while using it with a speedlight and most beauty dishes.

Q: 3. Does this come with a bag?

A: This does not include a bag.

Q: 4. What is the stacked height of 3 of these stands? and 1 by itself. I am trying to figure out the collapsed, stacked together height of 3 stands lying on their side to put in a travel case.

A: Following units are 4 inches stacked together.

Q: 5. Do you know if the center column is detachable from the base (on the picture of the product, only one screw seems maintain the central column)? It is the same stand sold in the Manfrotto 1314B kit?

A: The center column does not (intentionally) detatch. The base plate that holds the center column in place is made of plastic, however, and is prone to breaking at a very thin and weak point.

Q: 6. Where are these manufactured?

A: These stands are made in Italy.

Q: 7. Could you stack a 1052BAC with a 1004BAC ? Thanks

A: No, Manfroto stackers will only adapt to the same stand models.

Q: 8. will they hold a strobe light (like an Einstein 640) and softbox securely?

A: Yes the stand can hold an Einstein 640 monolight with a softbox up to 2 x 3 ft safely and securely.

Q: 9. Is this the same stand as the 1052BAC?

A: Yes this is the Manfrotto 1052BAC.

Q: 10. The load capacity specs state 11lbs. Has everyone found that to be true or have lights of lesser weight still been an issue? What is considered pushing the limit ?

A: Good question. I spent too much time worrying about this. I shopped around locally ALOT to determine what is the most sturdy. I bought these stands and LOVE them. Now, I don't have them loaded to limit (using LED constant lighting and flash guns) but I love these stands because they are built well, they are light and the cushioning works really well. I didn't like a lot of the other stand I saw, because they were either too big, to heavy or to cheap. These stand also lock together into an easily transportable system. Pretty cool.

[8' / 2.4 m] Great lightweight stands. I feel very comfortable using my lowel lights on these stands, much more than I would with flimsy lowel ones.

[8' / 2.4 m] I so wanted the 12-ft Manfrotto 1004BAC-3 interlocking stands, but just couldn't justify the price as I am mostly a 'paid' hobbiest and the Manfrottos would take years to pay for themselves. I grabbed 2 of these Impact stands from the used department for $ (rated 8+), and can't tell them from the 3rd one that I bought new. Very pleased with B&H! Locking screws are a little soft and may strip if used every day. Don't over-tighten, but then I am only supporting light weight LEDS.

[6.5 lb] I normally use Manfrotto stands but I got this with a Photoflex Lightdome as a kit...It's pretty sturdy and I was surprised (in a good way) on the build quality. For the $$$...you can't go wrong!

[Optional] Rock solid with my monolight and softbox. The span between legs when set up is 38. Uses lever locks like a tripod rather than screw locks. These work well and are quicker. The stand come with a wrench to tighten these if necessary. Overall, a much nicer and sturdier stand than some more expensive Avenger stands that I own.

[Optional] Excellent fluid telescoping and steady at fill extension (always weight a leg when using as with any light. Locks hold securely and it is easily adjustable by novice and professional alike. Medium weight due to a durable construction. And excellent with user-friendly simple to locate features.

[Yes] Im a weekend photographer and only a fraction of that is studio type work.  These are tall enough and strong enough to work with my equipment.  No complaints so far.

[Optional] The stand is solidly constructed and sits firmly in place. The 10 foot height is a plus, though I didn't need to extend it to its full height. Was very pleased with my purchase.

[Yes] I bought this with the Air-Cushioned Light Stand (Black,10') by Impact; I have occasional use for these in photography, but I mainly use them as a general-purpose lamp, and for this they're great! The stand is very sturdy, and the light is bright and great, and dimmable, and consumes little power (20W). Tilt it down for reading, or up to light the room. The only problem is that the stand takes up a lot of floor space; not idea for squeezing between a sofa and a wall. Much cheaper than a high-quality floor lamp, much more functional, and has a certain industrial charm.
