Q: 4. Would this lens be too big for the xt30?

Q: 5. Is this a video, and photo, or photo only lens?

Q: 7. Does this RFi Softbox work on a B1 or B2 head? Will it mount on an OCF speedring? Or, is there a dedicated OCF version of this size?

A: The 1x6 mounts on both the B1 and B2. With the B1 use a regular size rfi speedring, or any profoto octa ring. With the B2 you will need the Profoto ocf speedring because of the smaller diameter. If you use a non rfi speedring with the B1, make sure the octa ring has the extra holes to mount a strip bank. The rfi rings make it very easy because they are color coded.I hope this helps.

[300] I was looking for that one lens to rely on to pair with my xpro3 and after copious amounts of reading and viewing review videos, I went for it and I absolutely love it.
The build quality is top of the class with nothing flimsy or finicky, just pure solid build with clean pro look.
Autofocus is actually really impressive, though some reviews may say otherwise, I have no issues with it.
The wide open 1.0 aperture is dreamy and crisp at the same time and the bokeh is just sooooo creamy, it's a little ridiculous.
I think I might shoot more shots wide open than I would with other lenses, because it's just got that great balance of clarity and dreamy backgrounds.
Even with auto adjusting iso, I can shoot with iso 200 @ 1/500 in a dimly lit room and still get a bright clear shot - it's amazing.
Hefty lens for sure, but you know you're getting a great lens. Glad I pilled the trigger on this.

[300] I had the chance to pick up my lens on my recent trip to NYC from B&H store. I used the lens around town mostly shooting portraits. Its low light capability and perfect bokeh was exactly what I had hoped to find. The lens did make my camera front heavy, but once I added my grip battery pack it was much easier to use.

[Clear] This lens has excellent qualities and I love the bokeh effect, it’s sharpness in the center and on the edges. I will use it quite often with my FujiFilm XT-4 camera. However, it has a couple of flaws. One doesn’t bother me too much, the second one is a little bit disappointing. 1st it’s a big heavy lens. 2nd Manual Focus is not exactly the way a user would expect it. I don’t know how to explain it well by words, but definitely is less direct and immediate than in other lenses. It’s like a sort of servo-motor is still engaged when you rotate the ring with your hand and that not only creates noise, but makes the whole operation of focusing manually, less pleasant and in my specific case longer. Now let me explain why I still have to this prime five stars, which is rare for me. Even though the manual focusing it is important, I have to agree that the AF is more than usable at f1.0 and many other prime lenses in this category are manual focus only, so basically the image quality is very, very good and the usability is good. Finally, I have seen a little bit of chromatic aberrations in the form of a slight purple color present in the highlights, but I think that in order to avoid that completely the lens would be way more expensive than what it is now. If this lens cost $200 less, then it would have a perfect value for money ratio.

[300] Great dreamy soft bokeh
1/43000 shutter speed needed under the sun so ND filter is a must
Very sharp wide open when you nail focus
Very sexy looking front element
Superb color and rendering
Af is fast enough for portrait shooting
Afc is ok (sufficient to follow regular movements during portrait shooting)

[Smart Card] Photos: Very nice. The f/1.0 is needed for best Bokeh. Kai Wong and Lok Chung, The digital Rev guys; would love it. I adjusted the ISO. Used f/1.0

For video, Get used to manual focus. Can be used, but you need manual.

[Smart Card] Without a doubt my new fave on the XT3. I do a lot of event photography and really don't like using flash. This lens is remarkable in low light. You can bump the ISO up and still get insanely beautiful results. Maybe rent first before you buy but in my opinion a definite must-buy!

[300] For a long time I had the Fuji 56mm lens which was okay but always hated standing too far away from my subjects. So finally traded it in for the 50mm 1.0 lens. This is a lens that is perfect for someone wanting to take their time with each shot (not ideal for moving objects if shooting at 1.0). The photos do pop more so than with other lenses. Yes it is a large heavy lens but I did not notice this while using it. Take your time with your photos and you will truly be pleased with this lens.

[Clear] I debated between this lens and the 56mm f/1.2 for a long time. I ended up purchasing this one due to it being ever so slightly wider, which I found worked well for what I needed. It is heavier than the 56, but it is honestly worth it for the image quality. The ability to shoot at f/1 is wonderful and I personally stop it down to around f/1.6 for really solid results for portraits. Highly recommend looking into this lens if you’re looking for something that can let in a ton of light and don’t mind the weight too much.
