Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does it work on a canon rebel T5?

A: Yes, this fits on EF-S cameras like the Rebel T5.

Q: 2. Will this connect to an FTZ adapter? Even if there is no electrical connections.

A: Yes it will , with no electronic connection it means you would have to do everything manually (focus and aperture control ) assuming your lenses are D line ore manual F mount not G type

Q: 3. Would this fit on a canon t7i 58mm lens?

A: These extensions tubes fit directly to the lens mount on a Micro 4/3 camera. If looking to fit directly to a 58mm front diameter on a Canon lens, you might want to check out the Hoya 58mm HMC Close-Up Filter Set II (+1, +2, and +4), B&H # HOCUS2MC58. This close up kit will help shorten the focusing distance of your lens for macro work. https://bhpho.to/2MNghaX

Q: 4. Can you use these rings to duplicate slides?

A: Yes, with the right lens. Your slides will have to be evenly back lit and you will also need to have the system optically centered, aligned and stable. Extension tubes are made for general close up and macro photography. If you only want to copy slides check out "slide copiers" listed at B&H.

Q: 5. Do these change the long distance focus or infinity for normal picture taking. Or can it be used only for closeup photos?

A: It does shift the entire focus of the lens. It will be different for different lenses.

Q: 6. Could you put a adapter on the end for a Nikon Micro-Nikkor 55mm f/3.5 and use it to scan film on sony e mount cameras?

A: It will work but I would advise getting an adapter with an adjustable aperture ring or if the lens itself has an aperture ring you can control.

Q: 7. I assume these various tubes screw together to form one long extension tube. Are the screw threads a 52mm thread as you would find in a standard filter? Or do the tubes use a bayonet to join together instead of a screw thread?

A: These are bayonet Nikon f mount

Q: 8. what's the diameter of the threaded spacing ring? It that compatible of an ordinary step-up/step down ring?

A: We cannot find any information suggesting that these rings can use step-up rings.

Q: 9. I have a Fuji XE2 with the 18-55 kit lens. Is it compatible?

A: Yes. This will work with any X-mount Fujifilm camera. Keep in mind that this is a manual-focus only extension tube with no electrical contacts. You will need to enable "lensless shooting" in the menu of your XE2.

Q: 10. Will this work with a Canon 80d? That's the only camera I don't see on the list.

A: The FotodioX Macro Extension Tube Set for Canon EOS (EF, EF-S) Cameras: for Extreme Close-Up Photography will work with all EF, and EF-S lenses, and will connect to cameras using the Canon EOS EF, or EF-S lenses. There are some newer cameras that are not on the compatibility list, such as the Canon 70D, 80D, 7D mark II, the 6D, mark II, and 5D mark IV among others. These cameras are not listed because the extension tube set became available before some of these canon cameras were available, and the list is not complete at all.

[Close-Up] I wanted to take extreme close-ups, and I thought the options were, in order of expense, macro tubes/extenders and macro lenses. Someone mentioned magnifying filters so I headed to B&H and found this set for under $12. That's under 3 bucks a piece. I put the 4x filter on, and wow! A whole new world. Not pro, obviously, but I live the results, and I've learned how to focus (a skill to learn indeed) and use flash in close-up mode. The glass is good enough, but the blurry edges and color aberrations create interesting effects for video. So for $3 a piece, what's stopping you?!
