Explore the great outdoors confident in the knowledge that your gear is safe and secure thanks to the black Ruggard Alpine 600 DSLR Backpack for 600/800mm Lens Blackfrom Ruggard. This well-made pack is designed to store and protect either an 800mm lens with hood or a DSLR with an attached 600mm lens. To secure the gear from unwanted movement and provide added cushioning, the Alpine 600 comes with a movable, padded, touch-fastening shelf and lens supports.

A robust assortment of interior and exterior pockets facilitates finding the perfect place for your accessories. On the front of the pack are two zippered pockets with inner slip-in pockets for smaller items. And on one side of the pack is a large pocket with a touch-fastening flap and an interior slip-in pocket for more gear. Unzipping the main compartment with the dual zipper pulls reveals two memory card pockets and one clear-mesh pocket under the lid for items such as a wallet, filters, and more.

On the opposite side of the Alpine are two adjustable strap loops for securing the upper and midsections of a tripod and a cup with an adjustable height for holding the tripod base. Best of all, the cup is removable for when you want a more streamlined pack. The airmesh padding underneath the shoulder straps, on the back panel, hip belt, and lumbar support provides cushioning comfort, improved airflow, and helps wick-away unwanted moisture.

For comfort and easy carrying the Alpine 600 may be worn with the shoulder harness or carried with the padded carry handle. The shoulder straps are adjustable and feature a sternum strap for added stability and arm mobility. On longer journeys, an adjustable waist belt with padded hips helps reduce fatigue. And a yellow quick release buckle has a useful integrated whistle for sounding an alarm or communicating with others. The pack has rubber feet to resist abrasions and improve water resistance.

At the base of the pack near the bottom of the lumbar support is a zippered pocket for storing the included rain cover. This pocket features a strap for securing the rain cover from loss. For strength and durability, your Alpine 600 Backpack is made of quality materials such as heavy-duty nylon and airmesh padding.

Designed to store and transport a DSLR with an attached 600mm lens or a select 800mm lens with hood.

The two-piece padded lens support attaches with touch-fastening fabric on the inside of the pack for secure, movement-free transport. A padded lens bumper wraps around the end of the lens and hood for additional security. The base of the lens or camera receives additional protection with the use of a padded, movable, touch-fastening shelf.

Interior and exterior pockets keep your gear organized and handy. Two zippered front exterior pockets with interior slip-in pockets, and one side pocket with a touch-fastening flap and inner slip-in pocket provide numerous storage options.

Two, adjustable, quick release tripod strap loops on the side of the bag help secure the upper and midsections of your tripod. At the base of the pack is an adjustable cup for holding the bottom of the tripod. This cup is removable when not needed for a more streamlined setup.

The heavily padded, contoured shoulder harness conforms to your body and adjusts easily with a simple pull on the adjustment straps.

The sternum strap keeps the shoulder harness snug and secure for added stability and comfort. Best of all, the strap allows you to move your arms and hands freely without worrying that the shoulder harness might slip off.

The wide, adjustable waist belt has airmesh padding at the hips for added comfort and stability. The straps adjust to a maximum length of 24" on either side for a total circumference of 58".

Airmesh padding at the base of the pack provides added lumbar support with cooling, cushioning comfort.

Generous amounts of cushioning airmesh padding are employed on the underside of shoulder harness, upper back panel, lower lumbar support, and at the hips on the waist belt. These airmesh sections provide cooling comfort by helping to wick away moisture.

Included with the Alpine 600 is a removable rain cover. The cover stores inside its own zippered pocket at the base of the lumbar padding on the lower rear of the pack. Photographers will appreciate the rain cover's quick release security strap.

Built into the sternum strap is a quick release buckle with an integrated yellow whistle for summoning help and communicating with far off companions and others.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Do you think this bag is better than the Rugged Alpine 600 Lens Backpack?

A: I also don't have any experience with the Alpine backpack. I did my research prior buying and went with the Lowepro 600 and couldn't be more satisfied. It carry's very well with a Pro body and I slip a seat belt through the shoulder straps and it rides very well secured in the back seat when we travel. Good luck with your choice.

Q: 2. Hi...Side pocket size is enough to carry Wimbley Gimble head?

A: No, I don't have one, but the ones I have seen (heads) have been large. The pockets are ample in shapebut don't expand much. I love this backpack. So light.

Q: 3. will it hold the tameron 150-600mm lens?

A: This would be far too large for a Tamron 150-600mm lens. You may view options to store the Tamron lens on its product link under the Accessories tab.

Q: 4. Does canon 500mm f4 isi ii with 1.4 x teleconverter attached & canon 7d mark ii will fit in this bag?

A: It easily fits my 1Dx M2 with 600mm f4.0 gen2 on a 1.4x teleconverter, the front pocket is very small , it can accommodate lens caps sighting device and gloves only

Q: 5. Is this bag too big for a Sony A7riv + FE200-600mm with or without the 1.4x or 2.04x Teleconverters?

A: As stated below, this bag is a little big for that combination but I still think it would be a great fit. An A7RIV with a 200-600mm lens and a teleconverter would be well padded and secure in a bag like this. You'll have extra room to toss in some extra stuff like batteries and other small accessories.

Q: 6. Would this pack accommodate an attached 1dx and mounted 2x extender on a 600 mm canon lens?

A: I think so. It yolds my Nikon body with 600mm and 1.4 TC with room to spare. Nice bag!

Q: 7. Is the bag as good as the Lowepro 600 mm bag? This bag is much cheaper, so I am not sure if it is as well made or not.

A: I'm not familiar with the other bag, so i can't compare. I just got this bag because i bought a 500mm lens and it seems to be a good quality bag.

Q: 8. Specs says weight is 6.0 lb but package weight is 5.6 lb. Kindly clarify what is the actual empty weight? Thanks!

A: The empty weight of this back is 5.6 lbs.

Q: 9. Would this bag handle an 800mm lens with camera attached (1DX Mk2)?

A: On some level, it would depend on which 800mm lens you have. Though, as long as your lens isnt wider than 7.5 and the total length of the lens with the camera attached isnt longer than 24, you would be able to fit it in the Ruggard Alpine 600 with the 1DX attached.

Q: 10. Will it fit the width of a 400 f/2.8 lens?

A: Yes,the 400mm 2.8 will fit without any issues.

[26 x 16 x 10.5"] I am currently using the backpack with a Nikon 7200 and a Nikon 200-500 zoom lens, and tripod. It holds the setup tightly with room for extras. I use the room at the top for a hydration pack, and snake the tube out the top.

[Black] I'm using the Ruggard Alpine 600 to lug my 600mm f/4E FL ED VR with an attached D810 on small hikes (4-6 miles). The bag is well built without being heavy. I have been pleasantly surprised with the weight distribution on the back. Definitely worth the price if you have heavy gear that you need with you at all times. I highly recommend this backpack. [Yes] I use It to haul around my 70D with battery grip and a Sigma 150-600mm C with the lens hood fully extended and is well secured inside plenty of storage as well, I also own another backpack which is the thunderhead 75 which is a great buy as well. Great service from B&H.

[Universal] When I purchased my Nikon AF-S Nikkor 400mm f/2.8 FL ED VR Lens last year I also purchased a Kinesis L522 Polycore Long Lens Case. Additionally, I purchased a Kinesis Long Lens Foam Insert to protect my lens. I used that case on two separate trips and I never felt comfortable about it fully protecting my lens. I often included bubble wrap within the case because it felt so flimsy. At a substantially reduced price when compared to the Kinesis, I now have a case that I feel comfortable carrying my lens, teleconverters and camera body. You are wrong if you think you are getting a better product with Kinesis because it costs more.

[6.05 lb] I put off purchasing something like this as an unnecessary expense. I usually just pack my 600 in a large back pack and wrap it in a towel which I can always use on the trail. I finally purchased this when I saw it go on sale in a notice from B&H and am very glad I did. This is designed to hold this configuration of weight and is soooo much more comfortable and less backbreaking. And once the lens is in there is plenty of room for accessories, lunch or s small lens or 2. Built very well also.

[6.05 lb] Received this from my wife for Christmas 2016. This backpack is the ultimate for Supertelephoto lens carry. I have the Nikon AF-S 400mm 2.8 with lens hoods and Pro Body attached inside with my Gitzo 1548 tripod and Wimberley Gimbal Head attached in the tripod pocket outside. It carries the load well and is surprisingly balanced. The backpack is very well made and all attachments are heavy duty making it very comfortable and stable when wearing. I wouldn't be worried to carry this for several miles if required. There are ample pockets for additional items or a bottle or two of water. It has an included rain fly that is packed in the lumbar area. Great backpack for it's intended use. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a soft pack to carry large lenses.

[Black] The alpine 600 lens backpack holds my AF-S NIKKOR 600mm f/4 G ED VR lens with my Nikon D4s camera body attached and there is sufficient room for the Nikon D500 in the space above. The side pocket holds my Nikon TC-14E III 1.4x AF-S Tele-Converter. The inside pocket holds an extra Lexar 128GB 2933x XQD 2.0 Memory Card. The other pocket holds my Monster Superstar High Definition Bluetooth Speaker as well as my iPhone. It is well balanced and comfortable to carry.

[26 x 16 x 10.5"] I bought the Ruggard Alpine 600 Lens Backpack for DSLR and 600/800 Lens because my existing backpacks and camera bags struggled to accommodate my Nikon Z 180-600mm lens. Honestly, I had in mind a lens bag to just carry the 180-600mm lens, but I'm happy to pick up this very Ruggard backpack. I used it last weekend on a fairly rigorous hike in a nearby National Park. It easily carried my Nikon Z8, the Nikon Z 180-600mm lens, some lens filters, a couple water bottles and snacks. It also has straps to accommodate a tripod or monopod if necessary. I own two other Ruggard bags for my tripod and monopod and have been happy with their products from a value for money perspective.
