The 18" A3 (Selectable Cardioid/Hypercardioid/Omnidirectional) from Countryman is a podium condenser microphone designed to provide clear voice reproduction for use in meetings, conventions, lectures, and houses of worship. It features dual capsules tuned for clarity, wide frequency response, low noise, and a high maximum SPL of approximately 130 dB.

Integrated damping, along with the dual-cartridge design, attenuates thumps, rumble, vibration, and handling noise. The mic’s shielding and circuit design protect it from picking up interference from radio frequencies. The supplied windscreen reduces the level of breaths and plosives.

A standard XLR 3-pin male connector allows you to connect it to most mixers and mic preamps. The A3 is powered by 48 VDC phantom power. A protective case is included.

Q: 5. Anybody have trouble with the usb cable staying in the usb connector?

A: The USB port on the Shure MV51 is a micro-B. Perhaps an angled plug may be a good option if you are having problems with the straight plug disconnecting. We have a 6' long StarTech USB 2.0 Type-A Male to Left-Angle Micro-USB Male Cable (B&H# STUUSBHAUB6L) that you can try.

Q: 6. Are there any frames used to hold 5x7 glass negatives

Q: 7. Will this work with a UWMIC10 reciver?

A: No, the Saramonic Vlink2 HU Cardioid Handheld Microphone Transmitter for Vlink2 System (2.4 GHz) is not compatible for use with any of the Saramonic UwMic wireless microphone systems and is intended for use with the Vlink2 Wireless Microphone System. There is no UwMic10 series, but there are UwMic9 and UwMic9S series wireless mic systems which operate on the UHF band. The Vlink series components operate on the 2.4 GHz band which is not compatible with the UHF band used by the UwMic9 and UwMic9S components.

Q: 8. How does this system compare to the Sennheiser G4 system or the Sony UWP-D?

A: The Saramonic UwMic9 2-Person Camera-Mount Wireless Omni Lavalier Microphone System is most similar to the Sony UWP-D system. There is not currently a dual-channel version of the Sennheiser EW 100 G4 available. The UwMic9 transmitters feature a similar output spec of 10/20/30mW to the Sony UTX-B40's 5/30mW and Sennheiser's 30mW output. The UwMic9 features less potential frequency options, topping out at 96 frequencies, where Sony offers up to 2,772 and Sennheiser offers 1,680. All makes do feature the ability to scan for an open channel based on location. Saramonic's RX9 receiver features a single TRS output for both micropone channels, where Sony's URX-P03D offers an individual output for each. Overall, however, the Saramonic UwMic9 2-Person Camera-Mount Wireless Omni Lavalier Microphone System provides significant value at its price point.

Q: 9. What is the difference between this mic and the Verifact E LE-075?

A: The microphone has Electronic Gain control which allows you to control how sensitive the microphone is. The LE-075 does not have that.

Q: 10. I want to use this microphone with a wireless pack to record in stereo. Will it plug in to a wireless pack or does it need to plug in directly to the recording device?

A: This can work with some wireless systems. Please contact us at 800-606-6969, via live chat, or at audio@bhphoto.com so we can further discuss what you are trying to record, and help you find the best solution.

[Phantom Power] Excellent microphone for singers. We had one already at our Church and purchased as second for switching out the pastor's wireless pack.

[1 lb] E6 head mic is wonderful sounding mic for speech and singing. Much better than a traditional lav.(unless you do not want to see anything, then a lav dressed into the hairline is best. It can make a sound system in a bad environment sound pretty good. I use them mated to Sennheiser wireless system on our pastors. In my early career as a Sound Designer, I used them exclusively on theater productions. I also like that if the cable goes bad you can replace at the ear mic. This opinion is based on ROI. I do like the DPA's, but for the money go Countryman.

[1 lb] I have two Isomax 4RF microphones used at church. The 24-inch Cardioid we use at he Lord's table and a 18-inch Supercardioid on the podium. Compared to numerous other brands, the Isomax is very tolerant of feedback, has a very rich tone even using a flat EQ and is hotter than comparable microphones. While we need acoustic panels to improve clarity in our auditorium, this microphone help significantly to overcome the loss of clarity due to poor acoustics. It is a great microphone and comes in a plastic tube for protection. Another attribute is it ability to not pick up background noise from bumping the podium.

[Phantom Power] We use it weekly. They don't pop or pick up wind noise like a lapel mic.

[Black] Our new Countryman sounds great, just like the others we've used before. The 2mm cable is more robust and the flexible earpiece stays in position better.

[Black] We have a small church with big speakers, and our pastor likes to walk around a lot. This Mic has given us so many advantages over every other microphone we us in our church. No doubt the best investment we've made. The Sound is natural, Virtually no feedback and it's steady and holds it's place. Comfortable and strong.

[Phantom Power] I use the countryman for my sermons on sunday morning and/or sunday nights. It is crisp clear and easy to fit to the ear. I followed the directions to fit my countryman to me and it fit so well that once I started speaking I forgot it was there. I did have one small issue with feedback but that was due to the soundtech putting me into the stage monitors too much.

[Phantom Power] Needed mic for church with as low of noise as possible. It is incredible. So much better than the Shure micro flex.

[Phantom Power] We use several of these in our church for primary speakers and some dramatic groups. The consistent mic position on the talent keeps audio quality high, and the small size keeps it mostly out of sight. They take a bit of care to place around the ear; for regular users we recommend one be permanently assigned to reduce constant flexing. The 1mm adapter cables (vary with wireless pack) hide nicely and put less tension on the earset, but are particularly fragile. For heavy use, I recommend using 2mm cables.
