The Rain Shield is designed to fit a camera and lens combination measuring 12" from the rear of the camera body to the front of the lens. Use with a lens hood is recommended so the rain shield can offer complete protection to the front of the lens.

When shooting in inclement weather, this rain shield will protect your camera and lens from rain, snow, and moisture. Water-resistant 210D ripstop nylon ensures that moisture won't reach your camera.

The adjustable bungee closures assure a snug fit so water or moisture can't reach the camera or lens. With enough extra room, the closures can completely surround the camera and lens when not in use or when the weather is too bad to shoot.

The Rain Shield can be used during handheld shooting, or while mounted on a tripod. The convenient bottom opening is designed to fit over a tripod mount

The included carry pouch conveniently hangs from your belt or camera bag so you can take your rain shield anywhere and be prepared to use it anytime.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can you access the zoom on your lens, or do you do that through the fabric? Same with the shutter release?

A: The zoom is not accessible without opening the velcro on the bottom, however, the fabric is loose enough to twist it from the outside. The back can be left open, so the shutter release is not an issue. The rain cover is large enough for most lenses to leave the back open and let the cover hang over the back without having to pull the back closed.

Q: 2. My Canon R5 with RF 100-500mm extended measures 17" from back of eyepiece to front of lens hood. Measured to the back of the lens hood it is 14". Is this Medium size the right one?

A: Either the medium or large would be a half-decent choice, but it'll be up to your preference. The medium should fit snugly and can also be used cinched half-way on the hood rather than all the way. The large can be semi-scrunched up in order to accommodate a slightly shorter lens.

Q: 3. Would any of these Ruggard Rain Shields work with a Sony PXW-X70 camcorder? I've looked at the accessories listed on the X70 page but aren't crazy about any of them. Thanks.

A: This one may be a bit too small, I would go with the 23" if anything.

Q: 4. Can this be used with the original camera strap?

A: It is predominantly built to be used on a tripod. The strap can be attached but will be of little use. If you carry the camera around on your shoulder or what not the rain hood is basically useless. However it does a very good job in pouring rain,or in my intended purpose doing time lapse photos outside in a snow storm.

Q: 5. Can this rain shield be used off the tripod? Handheld!

A: Yes, the following rain jacket will accommodate any ball head/DSLR combination with lens up to 12" long and up to 8" in diameter.

Q: 6. What size would you suggest for a Nikon d500 and 200-500 zoom What size would suggest for a What size would you suggest for the Nikon D500 with 200-500 zoom lens?

Q: 7. Please advise size required for a Lumix G95 and 100-300mm lens?

A: The correct size of the Ruggard Fabric Rain Shield Medium for a Lumix G95 mirrorless camera and the Panasonic Lumix G Vario 100-300mm f/4-5.6 II POWER O.I.S. Lens is the Medium.

Q: 8. Will this length in size Medium work with Sony A7Riv with 200 -600 mm zoom lens with extender? Or should I get the large size?

A: The medium should be fine. The camera and lens are 15" long.

Q: 9. What size should I get ? I have a Nikon D850 with a Nikon 200-500 zoom glass. Small, medium or large ?

A: Get the Ruggard Fabric Rain Shield Medium (17") BH #RURCFC717 for the Nikon D850 and the Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 200-500mm f/5.6E ED VR Lens.

Q: 10. Why can the LCD screen be exposed?

[Yes] Quickly & completely cover your camera & lens when the rain starts yet still have the ability to access all the back buttons. Handling the camera is still secure. The front opening tightens around the lens, perfect if you leave the lens hood on. The back opening is also adjustable so you can still see everything. Bottom opening for tripod.

[Yes] Just the thing to keep your gear safe and dry in a light or possibly moderate rain with minimal wind, especially if your gear is not weatherproof. (Personally, Im not shooting in a driving rain, or putting a camera on a tripod in stronger wind, anyway.) Id previously tried cheaper solutions including a poncho (too unwieldly; too easy to lose control of the gear on a tripod) and a shower cap (better than nothing, handheld, but not great).

Drape the narrow end around your lens hood, near the outer edge, and leave the back of the camera near the big opening. You have full access to all controls and can see the screen and viewfinder. Works handheld or on a tripod. If youre careful, the only thing that gets wet is the end of the lens hood.

Note the sizes carefully before ordering. Measure your biggest lens and body, because you may well need a smaller size rain shield than you would predict. The *small* size rain shield is intended for most lenses up to about 200-300mm.

[Black] The person this gift was intended for often works in less than stellar outside conditions. This rain cover will help keep precious cameras away from the elements.
