The BlackRapid Backpack Breathe Camera Strap SEO Titleis designed to integrate with a backpack that features two shoulder straps so that it can be worn across a right or left-handed user's body, draped from one backpack shoulder strap to the opposing hip. A connected camera can then rest upside-down along the hip so that it can be quickly raised for use.

Aluminum-alloy snap-lock carabineers allow the Backpack Breathe to securely attach to any D-rings or loops along a backpack's shoulder strap that are typically above a backpack's sternum strap. The other end of the Backpack Breathe can then be clipped below the ladder-lock buckle on the backpack's other shoulder strap. This design allows right or left-handed photographers to sling their camera along either side of their backpack while adding a minimal 4.5 ounces to their load. Whether moving uphill or along a flat trail, the length of the Backpack Breathe can be easily adjusted by its own front D-ring and ladder-lock buckle. Spring-loaded bumper locks that can be slid up and down the length of this camera strap's nylon webbing make it especially easy to limit excess camera movement along the length of the Backpack Breathe.

To attach to a camera or a lens, the BlackRapid Backpack Breathe Camera Strap features a durable, brass and zinc-alloy CR-3 ConnectR locking carabiner. An included BlackRapid FR-5 FastenR Breathe creates a connection point using a camera or lens's 1/4"-20 tripod mount. The FR-5 FastenR Breathe has a large, integrated D-ring for easy use with BlackRapid straps that utilize a CR-3 ConnectR.

The length of this strap is adjustable from 20 to 31.5" and its nylon webbing measures up to 1.0" wide. A nylon pouch is included for storage and transport, as well as a plastic BlackRapid Lockstar Breathe Carabiner Protector, which is compatible with BlackRapid straps that feature a CR-3 ConnectR locking carabiner. By folding over a CR-3 ConnectR, the Lockstar Breathe prevents unintentional user contact with a CR-3 ConnectR that could cause it to accidentally unlock. Additionally, it helps to block the metal surface of a CR-3 ConnectR from scratching a connected camera or lens.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. I just ordered this strap and I'm worried about the FR-5 FastenR Breathe that comes with it. Is it really made from stainless? cus it seems like plastic material. thanks

A: Definitely not plastic. Not the one I bought. Best strap I ever owned.

Q: 2. Purchased Black Rapid RS 4 Classic and Sport. Really like the Classic. Concerned on the sport the main strap attaches at one end with a click clasp. If the clasp opens camera falls. Classic doesn't have the clasp and appears no chance for strap to open. Is there a way to double secure the clasp on the Sport ?

A: The main strap is permanently attached. The underarm strap is not.

Q: 3. Do the straps expand/stretch? Or do I need to remove the camera every time in order to use it?

A: The straps do extend to fit each individual frame. Q: 4. How much weight can be carried with this system? I currently have a Canon 5D mkIV with battery grip and 70-200 for one side, and a 7d mkII with battery grip and 300mm f2.8 for the other side. Needless to say, it's a good bit of weight and a lotta bit of $$$. Will typically be walking around at racing events for 8-10 hours easily. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

A: Up to 10lbs. on each side.

Q: 5. Due to childhood illnesses I am 59 with a short torso (about 19 ) and as a result many camera straps are too long and the camera bangs on my lower thigh. Could this strap be shortened to fit me?

A: I am 5'4 and portly. I wear the strap across my chest with the camera at belt level, and have not needed to adjust the strap to its shortest length. I don't think you'll have a problem, but the only way to know for sure is to try it.

Q: 6. The BlackRapid website says this strap is made of polypro webbing while this website says it is made of nylon. Which is correct?

A: I would go with what the Black Rapid site says, as I'm no expert on the differences. It is an excellent strap.

Q: 7. Is there an attaching mechanism that can be used with a RRS ballhead QR plate for easy transfer to the tripod?

A: There is the BR Tripod Plate 50 which is Arca-compatible and it comes with the FastenR, which is a screw that holds the plate to your camera; the screw is fitted with a ring that you use instead of the fastener that comes with the strap. It is made to hold the weight of the camera, and folds into a recess after you unclip the caribiner. Then the camera will fit into the ballhead clamp. After you're done with the tripod just clip the carabiner back into the ring and away you go.

Q: 8. Would it be safe to screw this into the SmallRig cage for Fujifilm xt-4 and could I use any "-20 hole on the cage?

A: Yes, you can connect BlackRapid Cross Shot Breathe Camera Strap (Black) to your camera cage. You can screw down the BlackRapid FR-5 FastenR Breathe on any 1/4-20 threads that can offer a good balance when carrying your camera on the strap.

Q: 9. Two of the photographs show the binocular straps attached but I find no mention of them in the specs nor in the accessory's... Info please?

A: They were not included with mine. I believe you can purchase the binocular neck strap separately. https://a href= http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1278393-REG/blackrapid_362002_binocular_breathe_single_strap.html target= _blank www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1278393-REG/blackrapid_362002_binocular_breathe_single_strap.html/aYou can disconnect the clips (zoom way in to see) - and then connect to the camera harness. If it's of any worth, the harness is one of the best purchases I've ever made - especially if you often switch between cameras. It's ridiculously comfortable and eliminates any neck/shoulder strain altogether.

Q: 10. Can this be connected to the telephoto lens tripod plate ? I have a 600 mm lens and would like the support to be there rather

A: Yes, the BlackRapid Cross Shot Breathe Camera Strap screws into the tripod socket, which is commonly found on long lenses such as a 600mm.

[Yes] I was one to keep my camera in hand, unsecured, even while walking/hiking. A SLR with dual battery grip with a 100-400mm pro lens is NOT compact or light. Carrying a backpack with multiple lens, filters, flash and other gear made the BlackRapid Backpack strap a perfect solution before I experienced a catastrophic camera accident! The strap attaches easily to both camera and backpack, allowing immediate access for that quick photo. Thanks BlackRapid!

[Yes] Not ideal when used on a rucksack, as it gets in the way when you need to remove the backpack or get in the back, however when i started using it on my camera sling (Mindshift), its perfect...I can leave it on and not have to remove.

Agree with previous reviews and changing-out carabiners to a locking-type to ensure the strap doesn't slip out.

[Yes] Super cool concept and execution. Great for hikes and snowshoes to make sure my camera is always quickly accessible. Using with the Z7ii + 400 4.5 and it's great.

[0.37 lb] Great strap to use when walking around or hiking with a back pack.
I will, however, replace the carabiniers at both ends with a lockable type for added security.

[Nylon] This is a very well made strap. I feel my camera very safe when attached to this strap. I recently connect it to a Sony 200-600mm with a teleconverter and full frame Sony camera. It was very comfortable to use.

[Black] I bought this strap for use with a backpack and Think Tank’s harness that holds up their belt system. Excellent idea and use, though too expensive like all specialty products. I did make one modification, though. Since my wife is handy with needle and thread, we substituted the screw-in device with a QD fixture. Now I’m completely switched over to QD.

[Yes] The Black Rapid products in general are always outstanding. This one is ideal for when you are hiking and shooting with a backpack or doing street photography around the city. It works the same as the stand alone straps they make which are very comfortable and functional. It is easy to un-hitch too, when you have to take off or get into your pack. Highly recommend this strap. I bought one for my wife and she loves it too. She can be pretty fussy about her gear.
