The BlackRapid FR-5 FastenR Breathe Camera Strapis designed to screw into a 1/4"-20 tripod mount for a camera or lens. A connection point is then created for attachment to a BlackRapid strap's ConnectR locking carabiner. The FR-5 FastenR Breathe features a large, integrated D-ring for easy use with BlackRapid straps that utilize a CR-3 or CR-4 ConnectR.

The FR-5 FastenR Breathe is constructed from stainless steel with a nylon coating for durability. An included rubber washer can be used to prevent overtightening during installation to a compatible tripod mount.

If it's of any worth, the harness is one of the best purchases I've ever made - especially if you often switch between cameras. Q: 2. The BlackRapid website says this strap is made of polypro webbing while this website says it is made of nylon. Which is correct?

A: I would go with what the Black Rapid site says, as I'm no expert on the differences. It is an excellent strap.

Q: 3. Is this strap for DSLR use?

A: Can be used with most any camera offering a 1/4 -20 tripod mount.

Q: 4. Does this strap fit women comfortably?

A: We recommend the Double Breathe Slim/Small version for most female clientele, as the slimmer straps fit much more comfortably.

Q: 5. Due to childhood illnesses I am 59 with a short torso (about 19 ) and as a result many camera straps are too long and the camera bangs on my lower thigh. Could this strap be shortened to fit me?

A: I am 5'4 and portly. I wear the strap across my chest with the camera at belt level, and have not needed to adjust the strap to its shortest length. I don't think you'll have a problem, but the only way to know for sure is to try it.

Q: 8. Purchased Black Rapid RS 4 Classic and Sport. Really like the Classic. Concerned on the sport the main strap attaches at one end with a click clasp. If the clasp opens camera falls. Classic doesn't have the clasp and appears no chance for strap to open. Is there a way to double secure the clasp on the Sport ?

A: The main strap is permanently attached. The underarm strap is not.

Q: 9. Is this the older version of the double strap?

A: This is the Double Breathe Original Series.

Q: 10. can I modify it to carry a Gimble?

A: I'm sure you can , if the Gimble has 1/4-20 threads you can do it without any problem

[Steel] I have purchased this item but with a different account. I’m now placing an order to replace the strap and this faster. The blackrapid strap comes with one but I’m ordering two more because I’d hate to hear the product is discontinued and can not obtain it in the future. My camera is heavy. I travel a lot and frequently need to put the camera down. This fastener has never come undone. Never even loosened. It’s likely the best deal possible to secure your expensive camera. It is even more impressive because I frequently drop the camera to quickly free the hand and am confident in the rapid black strap and this fastener to secure my gear. Highly recommended. 5

[0.045 lb] Well build and sturdy little fastener. I bought this as an extra anchor for my Black Rapid Curve Breathe strap, to keep full-time on my (very heavy) Sigma 150-600mm zoom lens mount. With the original mount on my camera body, it makes it easy to swap the strap between lenses. 5

[Steel] It's great, I understand the coating costs money to put on and prevents your gear from getting scratched up. You can get the same for less like the Kupo D Ring, which I also have, but some cameras will get scratched up if you use those. These BlackRapid ones have a coating on it that makes it smooth and not mess up your accessories and gear. 5

[Black] I have only used a Black Rapid strap for the past few years and the rubber washer is starting to wear out from switching between the strap and tripod mount. I bought this to replace it and couldn't be happier. 5

[Black] Got this to yours with my shoulder strap. Easy to use, stays tight. It replaces this crazy mount that came with the shoulder strap that was always coming loose. The new ring gives greater piece of mind which is worth a lot 5

[0.045 lb] This well-made fastener can be attached to the tripod mount of a tele lens. This makes switching camera/lens easy. The only disadvantage is that you lose the tripod mount. On the other hand, it is the best fastener for a camera strap. 5
