A telephoto zoom designed for use in trying conditions, the FUJIFILM XF 50-140mm f/2.8 R LM OIS WR Lens Kitis a weather-sealed lens spanning the popular 76-213mm equivalent focal length range and featuring a constant f/2.8 maximum aperture. Built for FUJIFILM X-mount mirrorless digital cameras, this fast zoom further distinguishes itself with a sophisticated design, highly effective optical image stabilization system, and a Triple Linear Motor AF system for refined focusing performance.

In regards to the optical design, this lens incorporates five extra-low dispersion elements and one Super ED element, which reduce chromatic aberrations and color fringing for increased clarity and color accuracy. Additionally, a Nano-GI coating has also been applied to elements to alter the refractive index between elements, to minimize surface reflections, and to prevent lens flare and ghosting. Additionally a rounded seven-blade diaphragm contributes to a pleasing bokeh quality when working with selective focus techniques.

Flexible telephoto zoom is designed for APS-C-format Fujifilm X-mount mirrorless cameras and offers a 76-213mm equivalent focal length range.

Constant f/2.8 maximum aperture offers consistent performance throughout the zoom range and excels when working in difficult lighting conditions.

Five extra-low dispersion elements and one Super ED element are used to greatly reduce color fringing and chromatic aberrations in order to produce high clarity and color fidelity throughout the zoom range.

Nano-GI (Gradient Index) coating has been applied to lens elements and alters the refractive index between the glass and air in order to better suppress lens flare and ghosting for diagonal incident light.

An HT-EBC (High Transmittance Electron Beam Coating) coating has been applied to the entire surface of each element for controlling ghosting and flare for greater contrast and color accuracy.

A Triple Linear Motor autofocus system delivers smooth, near-silent performance that is especially beneficial to video applications and when working in noise-sensitive areas.

Complemented by an enhanced gyro sensor and unique series of algorithms, the optical stabilization system minimizes the appearance of camera shake to enable sharper imaging when working with longer focal lengths or slower shutter speeds.

The lens body incorporates 20 distinct weather seals to protect against dust and moisture, and to enable worry-free use in inclement conditions and freezing temperatures as low as 14°F.

Rounded seven-blade diaphragm contribute to a pleasing out-of-focus quality to benefit the use of selective focus and shallow depth of field techniques.

A tripod collar is included for well-balanced mounting and shooting when working from a tripod or monopod.

Compatible with optional XF 1.4x TC WR and XF 2x TC WR teleconverters.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Recently, I was told that there was significant moisture in my Fuji 50-140 lens. Have others had this problem? I never used this lens in the rain. What do I do about it?

A: I would recommend contacting Fuji for warranty service, (800) 800-3854 http://www.fujifilmusa.com/

Q: 2. Is this lens compatible with the Fuji X-Pro1?

A: yes this lens and ALL XC and XF lenses are compatible with the Fuji X-PRO1 camera.

Q: 3. is this len made in japan?

A: Yes, this lens is made in Japan.

Q: 4. Does the tripod collar include an adaptor to connect to a tripod? The image does not show one.

A: Yes, the tripod collar is included. If you look at the lens without the filter, lens only, it shows a photo of the collar and foot.

Q: 5. What does the XF 50-140 weigh?

A: the 50-140 weighs 2.19 lbs or 995 grams. the telecoverter weighs 4.6 ounces or 130 grams.

Q: 6. What has Fuji done to eliminate the loud noise this lens makes, even when OIS is turned off? This makes it awkward to use in theaters, churches, or other quiet surroundings.

A: There have been no reports of this lens producing any noise when the OIS is turned off.

Q: 7. This lens seems to get rave reviews online but in this forum it's really getting trashed. Heavy, poor bokeh, hissing sounds, burns through batteries, etc. For virtually the same price I can get a 56 f/1.2 and a 55-200. Should I?

A: First, may I suggest that you discount 95% of what you read in any forum? Most of what is posted is posted either by disgruntled people, trolls, or people who have been given equipment by manufacturers. Now, to respond to this nonsense: Yes, the lens is heavy compared to other Fuji X lenses - of course it is: it's an f 2.8 equivalent of the 35mm standard 70-200, in this case 75 to 210. However, it is smaller and lighter than the comparable top of the line Nikon and Canon zooms. If you want a lighter lens, get a kit lens. If you want quality, this is the lens to get. I am principally a prime shooter, but I have a love this lens: It is fast focusing, the image stabilization is nothing short of spectacular - I can hand hold it at a 15th, and sometimes at 1/4 second, racked out to 210mm; it is sharp and contrasty, comparing in image quality to the best of the Fuji primes; it is build to last. Poor bokeh? I haven't noticed. Hissing sounds? Haven't heard them. Burns through batteries? I haven't noticed that. But, if batter consumption is an issue, turn off the IS. But who goes out shooting without extra batteries? All I can tell you is that in a week I am taking this lens to Haiti for it's third trip, and I wouldn't go without it.

Q: 8. I want to use this on an XH-1. Is there any benefit to OIS when you have IBIS?

A: The body and the lens will work in tandem to offer the best stabilization, typically the ibis will do most of the work.

Q: 9. Does this lens extend in physical length throughout the zoom process or does the lens remain the same physical length throughout the zoom process?

A: It maintains the same external length throughout the zoom range.

Q: 10. Advice for a Pelican hard case to fit this lens only?

A: Sorry, don't use a case, it's in my backpack when not in use. I do use the following: MindShift Gear Ultralight Camera Cover 30

[Autofocus] I recently purchased this lens to use for short-range wildlife (e.g. shorebirds) portraits and as my all around zoom lens. I first used it on my XT-1 in tandem with my Canon 6D and the new 100-400L IS II. While some complain about the weight, in relation to the 6D/100-400L II set up, its as light as a feather the Canon rig was heavy, bulky, and unwieldy by comparison. The XT-1 with the 50-140 worked quite well, even without a grip (I've never used one). Even in low light, images were really sharp. I've walked about 10 miles on the beach with this on my shoulder and really didn't feel very heavy. Very easy to focus in all lighting conditions, quick, and tack sharp images. I would say on par with the Canon 100-400L IS II I mentioned earlier. I could not be happier with this purchase!

[Autofocus] I just purchased this zoom lens because it had a larger aperture than my current Zoom for the XT 5-

What I was surprised at was how amazingly sharp and nimble this zoom link is.

My only negative visits, larger size, but that is mitigated by the handy grip that is on the bottom of the lens making it economically a sweet deal with my t

[7, Rounded] I am trying this out on actions shots, it is very sharp but I am not use to how the electric view finder delays in finding the subject after a burst. The lens itself is very well made and takes super sharp images when the camera locked on. Great lens for portrait work. I shoot a lot of horses so not sure the Fujifilm XT1 is quite there yet, but the lens definitely is capable

[31.7° to 11.6°] This is not a technical review:
I have never had a f 2.8 mid range zoom lens and thought this one would be great for many situations. But when I took it out of the box I realized it was not going to be a walk around lens- at least if the walk was very long. So I had a moment of temporary disappointment until I put the lens on the camera and saw what f 2.8 can do. Sweet bokeh with sharp center and clear and contrasty elements made the photos nearly jump off the page. I was sold even before trying out the video. The video was effortless with excellent focus. It kept up with hummingbirds zooming in and out of the frame. I have tried the lens in back lighting situations, sunrise and sunsets and early morning and evening environmental birding photography and it does well if the user gives more exposure in back lit situations. I am using the lens with the Fuji XT5 camera.

[f/22] Love this lens. My first event I shot with it was Formula Drift. The lens is light and easy to use. This is a must own for any Fuji kit. You won't be disappointed.

[31.7° to 11.6°] This lens is supper sharp!, even at f2.8 and at any zoom setting. Fiji needed something to match the Canon and Nikon 70-200mm and this does the job. It's fast focusing with my X-T1 in daylight, and is well balanced hand held. Haven't tried it in low light situations yet but so far I'm extremely happy with it. Fuji seems to be coming on strong with its pro orientated cameras and lenses.

[Autofocus] I bought this lens the same time I purchased the Fujifilm X-T5 camera when my D800 died. I highly recommand this lens as I have noticed it's sharper than my nikon lens was and so much lighter to carry. In testing I have found I need to add at least a stop and a half to my exposures for the best results. The X-T5 in my tests have been able to handle a plus 3 exposure with no loss of high ligth details

[7, Rounded] I'm a casual photographer and took this to my niece's wedding. I was told by several attendees that I should try my hand at becoming a paid photographer because of the images that came out of this lens. STUNNING!!!
