Telephoto zoom is designed for DX-format Nikon F-mount cameras and provides a 105-450mm equivalent focal length.

One extra-low dispersion element greatly reduces color fringing and chromatic aberrations in order to produce greater clarity and color accuracy.

A Super Integrated Coating has been applied to individual elements to suppress internal reflections, flare, and ghosting for improved contrast and color accuracy when working in strong lighting conditions.

AF-P pulse motor uses stepping motors to deliver impressively smooth, quiet, and fast autofocus performance that is well-suited to both stills and video applications.

Rounded seven-blade diaphragm promotes a pleasing out of focus quality that benefits the use of shallow depth of field and selective focus techniques.

Autofocus switch has been removed from the lens design for a sleek profile; this operation is now accessible in compatible cameras' menu systems.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this lens support auto focusing on d5300?

A: AF-P lenses are compatible with the D5300, but you need to be certain you have the newest firmware installed.

Q: 2. Does this lens is compatible with d3200?

A: No, according to the Nikon website, it is NOT compatible with the D3200.

Q: 3. What does limited compatibility with the d7100 mean?

A: The AF-P autofocus system is a newer technology and cameras designed and manufactured more than a couple of years ago will not communicate properly with this AF system. Some cameras can have firmware updated to become AF compatible, but AF-P lenses are pretty much manual focus only on these relatively old bodies. Look for alternatives with AF or AF-S designations. Nikon has a lens compatibility chart on their website, if you do a web search. I don't think I can post the link for that in this answer.

Q: 4. Is this lens compatible with Nikon D3300?

A: I'm sorry but this lens is not compatible with the D3300. You can go with the 55-300mm. Please click on the link below to view; https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/729938-USA/Nikon_2197_AF_S_NIKKOR_55_300mm_f_4_5_5_6G.html

Q: 5. Does this lens(70-300mm f/4.5-6.3G ED Lens No VR) support Manual focusing?

A: Yes, it certainly does!!!

Q: 6. Does it work on a d3400?

A: Yes. It is fully compatible with the D3400. This means there is a menu option to turn VR ON/OFF on the D3400, on bodies not fully compatible you cannot shut off the VR since there is no longer a physical switch on the lens like on AF-S VR lenses.

Q: 7. What firmware do you need to use all of the camera's features?

A: You should always have the latest firmware to use all the current camera features.

Q: 8. What does this lense come with? Pictures above display a lense hood and soft case bag, but it is not listed in the in the box tab.

A: Just the lens

Q: 9. Does this lense have a have a built in motor required for Nikon d3200/d3300? Is it compatible?

A: Yes, it has a Pulse Stepping Motor AF System.

Q: 10. Will this lense work with the D60 using manual focus? Will all settings need to be manual?

A: AF-P lenses use the latest Stepping Motor technology to move the lens focus. The ability to change focus settings are in the camera menu rather than as switches on the lens barrel. As the first Nikon AF-P stepping motor was created in 2016, while the Nikon D60 is much older, being released in 2008, the AF-P lenses will not operate on the Nikon D60. As the lens does not have an AF/MF switch on the lens, there is no way to change the focus mode. Nikon states lenses with the AF-P are not compatible for use on your camera. You would need a Nikon lens that uses the Nikon AF-S Silent Wave Motor on your camera.

[0.22x] I bought this lens with the D5600 lens kit and I have loved it ever since. Although this is not a Vibration Reduction lens and people might think it is a cheap lens, it is the opposite. Very good for fast action shots and any other genre from a further distance. Not the best lens for close up shots but everything else is very good for such a cheap lens.
I highly recommend this lens.

[Autofocus] This came with my Nikon D3400, so I probably wouldn't have sprung for it right away. Now that I have that extra zoom capability, in a fantastic Nikon lens, I don't know how I could be without it.

[Nikon F] I use this for personal use. I received this 70 - 300mm lens as part of a kit when I purchased the Nikon D3400 Thanksgiving weekend. I probably would not have brought this, but so glad it came with a special B & H offer. Amazing lens, the zoom is just incredible! A definite recommend for anyone. B & H is my go to for any and all electronics. Free shipping and prices can not be beat.

[Autofocus] I recently purchased and tried this lens extensively paired with the D3400 camera before sending it off to replace my son's older model 55-200 stolen from him in London. Although this lens sports a polycarbonate lens mount, it feels robust, and the manual focusing action is beautifully smooth and precise. Additionally, I was astonished at how quickly it focused on this the D3400, particularly in video mode--night and day from the sluggish focus of my D7100 with higher priced, older model, considerably larger 70-300 (or any other lens on that camera)--very impressive. This lens was well worth the price, and the only precaution I would issue is that if you are accustomed to VR (vibration reduction), this may not be the lens for you.
