Telephoto zoom is designed for DX-format Nikon F-mount cameras and provides a 105-450mm equivalent focal length.

One extra-low dispersion element greatly reduces color fringing and chromatic aberrations in order to produce greater clarity and color accuracy.

A Super Integrated Coating has been applied to individual elements to suppress internal reflections, flare, and ghosting for improved contrast and color accuracy when working in strong lighting conditions.

AF-P pulse motor uses stepping motors to deliver impressively smooth, quiet, and fast autofocus performance that is well-suited to both stills and video applications.

VR (Vibration Reduction) image stabilization helps to minimize the appearance of camera shake by four stops to benefit shooting handheld in difficult lighting conditions.

Rounded seven-blade diaphragm promotes a pleasing out of focus quality that benefits the use of shallow depth of field and selective focus techniques.

Autofocus and VR switches have been removed from the lens design for a sleek profile; these operations are now accessible in compatible cameras' menu systems.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this lens, AF-P DX NIKKOR 70-300MM F/4.5-6.3 ED VR LENS compatible my Nikon 3000?

A: No, the Nikon AF-P DX NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-6.3G ED VR Lens would not be compatible for use with the Nikon D3000 DSLR camera.

Q: 2. Is this lens compatible with Nikon AF-S Teleconverter TC-20E III?

A: No. Unfortunately, the 70-300 is not compatible with any Nikon OEM teleconverter. For the full list of lens + teleconverter compatibility, please see this chart on Nikon's page: https://cdn-5.nikon-cdn.com/Assets/Common-Assets/Images/Teleconverter-Compatibility/EN_Comp_chart.html

Q: 3. HI,i want to buy d5300 as my first DSLR so which lens should i buy along witj 18-55 mm kit lens ?

A: It would depend on what you would like to photograph with the lens you wish to purchase as to which lens would be recommended. However, most people do purchase a telephoto zoom lens as a second lens to complement the standard zoom lens included with the camera. The Nikon AF-P DX NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-6.3G ED VR Lens would be a good option for this purpose. For a two-lens kit, this setup would give you a relatively wide range of flexibility from being able to capture wide-angle images indoors (interior and group shots) using the kit lens, as well as switching to the Nikon AF-P DX NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-6.3G ED VR Lens to capture images of subjects at a distance when you cannot physically get close to the subject, such as images of sports, kids playing at a distance, images at the zoo, or other wildlife or distant subjects.

Q: 4. what is the compatible lens hood for this model?

A: The Nikon AF-P 70-300mm lens uses the Nikon HB-77 lens hood. Unfortunately, the lens hood is not currently available.

Q: 5. Will this lens work with the D800. When I bought my camera, I was told by B & H photo that this lens is compatible. Is this true?

A: This is a DX lens primarily meant for APS-C cameras such as the D3500, D5600, and D7500.

Q: 6. Will this work on a D50 camera? it has a "G" lens now. Does this lens have auto and manual focus?

A: No, the Nikon AF-P DX NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-6.3G ED VR Lens would not be compatible for use with the Nikon D50 DSLR camera. The Nikon D50 DSLR camera does not support the AF-P Pulse stepping motor, and this lens cannot be used with the D50 DSLR camera. If you need a lens with a similar focal length that would be compatible for use with the Nikon D50 DSLR camera, I would recommend the Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 55-200mm f/4-5.6G ED VR II Lens, B&H # NI5520045, the Tamron SP 70-300mm f/4-5.6 Di VC USD Telephoto Zoom Lens for Nikon Digital SLRs & 35mm Film Cameras, B&H # TA70300N, or the Tamron 70-300mm f/4-5.6 Di LD Macro Autofocus Lens for Nikon AF, B&H # TA70300MNAF, for your usage needs.

[Autofocus] Just starting to play with it. Seems great. Very, very sharp at 300mm;(have not really tried it at shorter focal lengths; assum it would be just as sharp if not sharper). 100% crops to pixel peep look excellent. Using it on a D500 helps, of course. Relatively light; no sense that it is heavy. Distortion control on D500 works well with it--no noticeable distortion. Autofocus is very fast and quiet. Hits on flying birds good. Smallish maximum aperture not an issue for my use. Bottom line, I love it.

[58 mm (Front)] B&H is a reliable business, top rated for a reason!
I can't afford to pay for a new lens like this. I also can't afford to lose my money purchasing a too good to be true deal. I can trust B&H and their refurbished items... thankful my favorite camera shop allows me the opportunity to enjoy high quality items at a price I can afford!

[Yes] We got this lens right before we went to the beach. We were able to get some amazing photos! My 14 year old loves photography and is learning more and more. She thoroughly enjoyed taking pictures with this lens and coming home to view and edit them. She said the pictures turned out even better than she thought!

[Nikon F] This lens is delivering good results, but the only thing that's going to give me that next 200mm is a 500mm. For the money, though, it works beautifully. The AF is almost inaudible, and it is quite accurate within the limitations inherent in all AF lenses, but it's easy to override the AF if you need to do so. It's giving good results at both extremes of its range. Check compatibility before you buy. It works with my D3300 (with the latest firmware updates). Check Nikon for the definitive compatibility list. -Joseph

[1.335 lb] Lens arrived late this afternoon. Took it to my backyard to play with it. Used visitors to my bird feeders as my subjects. Shots were taken in relatively low light as it was around 7:30 P.M. and the sun was lower in the sky. Also, there were a lot of trees around which reduced available light. I was pleased with the results. Can't wait to shoot in better lighting conditions. No, this little zoom won't produce professional results in low light, but it has potential to take great shots. Lens was used on a d500.

[58 mm (Front)] This is a great lens. It's super light and when attached to my d5500 it's lighter than my p900! Great for arthritic hands! Focuses fast and images are sharp for a consumer lens. Original image at 300mm, P mode, straight from camera. 2nd image cropped. Not bad for a lens in this price range.

[0.22x] I bought this lens as part of a bundle and I'm so glad I did. I wasn't sure I needed something like this with the types of images I shoot (mostly documentary portraits in smaller spaces), but at this price, it was worth trying out. I'm using it way more than I thought I would and loving the results.

[f/4.5 to 6.3] My wife and I make jewelry for sale in our retirement. I have been using a Nikon D5300 for about a year. I was not quite happy with the sharpness of pictures with two kit lenses. After reading reviews of the 70-300 AF-P I decided to buy it. I couldn't be happier I get sharp pictures with correct colors. (The kit lenses also had correct colors.)
