Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will an RRS BH-40 Ball Head fit on this tripod?

A: The Sunwayfoto T3240CS comes with an embedded, non-end-user-removable ballhead. You can technically mount the RRS's BH40 on top of that, but that's highly irregular and not recommended.

Q: 2. Is this Tripod compatible with the Benro GH2 Gimble?

A: Yes, the Benro GH2 Aluminum gimbal head will adapt nicely to the Benro mammoth carbon fiber tripod.

Q: 3. Will the Manfrotto MVH500AH Fluid Video Head with Flat Base simply screw into the flat half bowl?

A: Yes it will. The Manfrotto MVH500AH Fluid Video Head with Flat Base has a 3/8"-16 thread which will connect to the platform on the Benro Mammoth 4-Section Carbon Fiber Tripod.

Q: 4. This looks like it would be an awesome tripod for astrophotograpy as it has no center column - but would the leveler cause any stability issues?

A: The leveler on the Benro Mammoth Carbon Fiber Tripod is very stable.

Q: 5. I am going on an Alaskan cruise through the Interior Passage. Four ports. Helicoper ride/dog sled run. Canon 5d Mark IV. Heaviest lens 24-105. Do you think this will work as a general lightweight all-around? Senior lady who wants an easy way to take photos without shaking using different lens. Thank you!

A: One of the great advantages of today's digital cameras is the very high ISO ratings they have. With these high ISO's, you can shoot at a commensurate high shutter speed. Shooting at 1000, 2000, 3000 shutter speed should negate mild and even moderate shake. Of course, if you have a muscular condition that creates more than a moderate shake, then yes, I think this is a good suggestion. It is light, compact even with the three little legs. It will be good even on board ship. Of course, you will not need it for the helicopter or dog sled. I would also recommend a monopod head. This will allow tilt up and down while the monopod is up and down with the legs deployed. Here is a affordable one: Oben VH-R2 Tilt Head for Monopods B&H # OBVHR2. Here is a mid level quality example: Induro TH2 Tilt Head for Monopods B&H # INTH2. Both of these heads have Arca-Swiss type quick releases. That is to say, the included quick release is a desirable industry standard which allows instant on and off the head. Have fun and don't take any wooden pictures.

Q: 6. What type of rifle clamp will fit on the ball head? Is it universal or is it specific to brand?

A: The Sunwayfoto T3240CS 4-Section Carbon Fiber Shooting Tripod (BH # SUT3240CS) fits M-LOK QR Plates & Arca Adapters. 3/8 & 1/4" sockets are available for additional gear. This should work: Leofoto GS-3 Rifle Clamp (B&H # LEGS3): https://bhpho.to/4egLME4

Q: 7. How much does it weigh?

A: The Sirui AR3204 4-Section Carbon Fiber Tripod weighs 4.41 lbs / 2.0 kg.

Q: 8. Is the carry case large enough to hold an attached head like the Benro S8pro?

A: The carry case of the Benro Mammoth Carbon Fiber Tripod is not large enough to hold an attached head like Benro S8Pro Fluid Video Head.

Q: 9. Does this tripod require a Benro GDHAD1 Geared Head Spacer to use it with a geared head?

A: Yes, the Benro Mammoth 3-Section Carbon Fiber Tripod does have a large base diameter of 75mm. If you are using the Benro GD3WH 3-way geared head it has a base diameter of 52mm. Since the tripod base is larger than the geared head, some knobs on the gear head may hit the tripod. The Benro GDHAD1 Tripod Spacer is a good option to use to make sure no knobs hit the tripod.

Q: 10. Is there a set of dolly wheels compatible for this tripod?

A: Yes, there are multiple dollies that are compatible with the Benro Mammoth 4-Section Carbon Fiber Tripod. Please review the link below: https://bhpho.to/4bHomXL

[Twist Lock] I have the 4 section, TMTH34C model which has a weight limit of 39.7 lbs and 75mm bowl. Everything about this tripod exudes quality and it is very stable. Without the included ball (which is all metal) and handle, it weighs only 3lbs 10oz. I have other Benro aluminum tripods that have been great, but Benro has taken a step up with the Mammoth line. The bowl, the leg locks/hardware and carbon fiber legs all have a premium look and feel. Even the included bag is upscale, they have changed to black for the bag from their traditional blue, all bag fittings are metal, it has enough space to carry both the tripod and my BV6 fluid head fully assembled. The only thing I am left wanting is a bubble level for rough leveling before adjusting the head (the BV6 has a lit bubble level).

[4.85 lb] The Benro Mammoth tripod is well constructed and definitely has the load carrying capacity for my 200-600 zoom lens mounted with gimble.

[Removable] Not much to say here. Outstanding built quality, very robust feel and plenty adjustments. It also has a very good payload capacity for the price. No complaints here!

[Removable] Had a cheaper Benro model before and wasn't too impressed. This one has changed my mind about Benro! It's solid in every way.

[Twist Lock] This tripod is a beast. It checks off all of my wants and meets all of my needs. I can’t get over the quality and features for the price. I have been using my friends Pro Media Gear 57” tripod, which I absolutely love, but when I saw this come out and with a few more inches of height and the fact that it is a bowl and even comes with a leveling center plate, I had to give it a try. Also to add, it’s one third the price. Now I get that the PMG is made in the USA and that it is truly premium grade, but after using the mammoth for just a short while, I have found myself liking it better. I’m not writing this to bash on others or steer anyone away from the PMG, I’m just saying, this thing competes with the big boys and in some regards I think it even exceeds. At this price, it could get you in the game much sooner instead of saving up for the high end gems. Who knows, you may get it with the expectation to upgrade later and end up falling in love with it. Because of the price, I was able to pair it with a RRS 55 ball head at the same time. Definitely not looking back.

[20 x 9.6 x 4"] This is my first carbon fiber tripod and I love it.
Bought it for my upcoming November trip to the Bald Eagle Preserve in Alaska. This tripod is well built, I highly recommend it. I purchased the Benro Gh2 Gimbal at the same time. This tripod will also fit in my carry on bag (on an angle) for when I fly. The included tripod bag is a very nice bag though and it is padded and holds the tripod very secure.

[Removable] I intended on getting the tortoise 34c but couldn't find it with legs only. I came across the Mammoth and couldn't be happier. Stronger and lighter than what I was looking for originally.

[Twist Lock] Very stable platform for long lens bird shots. Well built. A bit heavier than I thought it would be, but manageable. Love the height. So far very happy with the purchase.
