The TubeMix from ART is a 5-channel mixer with an integrated USB audio interface well suited for studio and mobile recording and performance applications. The mixer features two tube-driven microphone preamplifiers, a stereo line-input channel, and a dedicated Hi-Z instrument-input channel with an on-board amp simulator. The two tube preamps can be reconfigured and stacked on the instrument channel for added warmth and tone with guitar or bass.

Each channel is fully featured with a 3-band EQ, two aux sends, and pan and level controls. Channels 1, 2, and 5 offer input trim controls and clip indicators for optimum level setting. The output section allows for separate stereo monitor mixing on the main bus while recording via the aux buses, or vice versa. A flexible Control Room / Headphone section allows routing to monitor the main mix, USB input, and aux sends. The TubeMix features a metal enclosure with wooden sides and ships with a power adapter.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What is the country of origin for this product?

A: The Yamaha MG16XU Mixer is made in Malaysia.

Q: 2. Can I connect a mic pre-amp to this board? I assume the TRS input of the combo jacks will bypass the internal pre-amps. Thanks!

A: Good Morning, We do not use a preamp with the MG10XU as For our setup there is no need we use a amp after the MG10XU. This allows us to connect a smart phone or a computer to the amp to be heard over the speakers when needed.I do hope this helpsArt

Q: 3. Is this mute switch quiet? How noticeable is the mute switch for livestreaming? Also will this pre-amp drive a gain hungry microphone?

A: Yes, the mute switch on the Yamaha AG03MK2 3-Channel Mixer & USB Audio Interface is quiet and can be used to silence the audio while livestreaming. The input gain level for a microphone is most likely not going to be sufficient for a mic that requires a lot of gain. If you have a dynamic microphone that requires high gain, you may need to use a separate booster or preamp to supply the gain needed for your mic.

Q: 4. How to connect this mixer to a subwoofer?

A: If the subwoofer has a Left / Right input and output, you would go from the Yamaha MG10XU Left / Right main out - into the subwoofer - out from the subwoofer to the Left and Right top speakers. Alternatively, if the subwoofer does not allow you to send the signal out, and the speaker has a line/mix output, you can connect that to the subwoofer.

Q: 5. How stable is the USB connection? Can you use it during gigs?

A: I have not heard any complaints about stability of the connection itself. I have heard about some of the most recent Windows OS updates not being compatible with this mixer. Another small mixer with a usb connection that is known for its reliability would be B&H part # MAPROFX12V2.

Q: 6. Can you confirm that you can run all 24 analog outputs from the DAC at 192Khz simultaneously, and at what bit depth (24 or 32) ?

A: Yes, the MOTU 24Ao USB/AVB 72 Channel Audio Interface can run 24 analog outputs simultaneously. The analog outputs offer 32-bit trim in the DAC and are also adjustable in 1 dB increments.

Q: 7. If I connect to a laptop via USB, is it possible to mix recorded channels separately with DAW software? E.G. Record a live band to laptop and then mix each input post recording. If so, which software would I need? Thanks

A: The USB interface is 2in/2out. You will be transmitting the main stereo mix to your computer via USB. Individual channels are not able to be routed to separate channels in a DAW via this mixer.

Q: 8. Do I need an interface for this or does it's USB channel work the same way?

A: This unit features a built in interface. When connected to a computer the mixer will pass the main stereo mix via its USB connection.

Q: 9. How FX send works?

A: The FX level on each channel also feeds to TRS FX send (TRS output) for routing to devices such as external FX units or monitor mixers

Q: 10. Is this an analog or digital mixer?

A: Analog

[18 VDC] I’ve been using ToneMatch since 2012 and Iam BLESSED with this Product. I use this device so much that I was hoping BOSE would release their next version with more channels and added features. With T8S mixing will be awesome yet compact with KN the move gigs. ToneMatch is so good that I hope Bose will release its 16 Channel or 32 Channel full grade mixer, and best part are the presets that has always made my setup-Olyg & Play so Easy. I’ve literally setup my entire band sound with L1 Conpact and 3 Musicians And 2 singers in less than 20 minutes, just using the presets.

Thank you BOSE.
Best Wishes!

[2] I bought this device in order to mix my acoustic guitar preamp, which requires phantom power, and my electric guitar. I can match the respective output levels and process a single signal or pan them stereo and process separately. Works perfectly for my application. Haven’t used the USB interface. Not sure if I ever will. I was also surprised at how heavy it is. Time will tell how robust the components are, but the chassis is very solid and has the feel of piece of pro gear.

[1x USB-B] As the CEO of the Boomerang Loop pedal company, I have very high standards for sound quality. The ToneMatch is unparalleled. No other mixer comes close to what the ToneMatch offers in size, ease of use and most importantly sound quality. BEST pre-amps I've ever heard. It's far more than just a mixer.

[1x USB-B] Great product in a nice metal case. Perfect for mixing a microphone and a line level (stereo) input.

[2] This is a great mixer, it makes anything sound better without almost any tweak, I tested it with my two Bose S1 Pro speakers, and it sounds amazing, also I tried it with other "bad sounding" Harbinger speakers that were sounded very bad with the harbinger mixer, and it makes a huge difference, it makes the sound shine impressively, every person in the gig was impressed of the good sound it can produce. Also, it helped me a lot by improving my installation/ setup time using the scenes feature.

Missing features would be:
1) to include a Bluetooth channel as the S1 Pro integrated mixer,
2) to be able to recall volume of every channel when saving the scenes.
3) add the xlr/ plug option for the auxiliary inputs
4) allow the user to specify to what channel phantom power will be applied.

[18 VDC] After first month of usage, I can safely attest to the unit's functionality, reliability and ease of use within my current setup. I'm a hobbyist composer who needed to get first footing into the digital recording realm. Perusal of current products led to realization that a mixer-interface hybrid would be best fit for my context. With limited budget, an old under-powered pc and unwillingness to deal with any steep learning curves; I conducted my evaluations. ART USBMIX4 topped the list.

In main setup, digital piano (Left & Right) line outs connect to Channels 1&2 w/ respective Pan controls set to L and R. Drum-guitar unit line outs go to 3&4. Headphones used to monitor. USB connection to pc provides electrical supply. To record acoustic-electric, condenser mic plugs into CH1 (for 48V) and drum-guitar unit's individual guitar out into CH2. The AUX-MP3 IN serves well for my guitar amp's stereo line out when required.

Admittedly there is significant hiss when CH1 gain increased beyond middle position with mic connected but I get acceptable results despite that constraint. INST-HI-Z on CH2 is rather bland and underwhelming; perhaps this may suffice for DAW software effect plug-ins for which my pc not geared up.

All considered, I am quite pleased with my decision to purchase and have no regrets.

[Main Mix] I'm somewhere between a beginner and a novice, when it comes to creating, mixing, and recording music. Even though I'm not ever going on tour, I like upper end equipment, with a pretty simple user interface. That is why I picked the Bose T8S. I have a lot to learn, but I have been able to make great progress in just a couple of weeks. And purchasing from B&H, I know my products will get here in great shape, and on time.

[Main Mix] Quality hardware, full metal case and connectors. POTs have a good consistent feel. I was already familiar with Audacity so this was another plus. My WIN7Pro laptop detected it and installation was a breeze.
