The ART C2 Cardioid FET Condenser Microphone Pad Roll-Off Switchfrom ART C2 Cardioid FET Condenser Microphone Pad Roll-Off Switchis for capturing audio in live-sound and remote-recording applications. It features 48V phantom power, a low-mass diaphragm, and a high-quality 34mm capsule that delivers a clear tone with accurate sonic details.

The cardioid polar pattern offers excellent feedback rejection and is suitable for most vocal applications, solo instruments, background brass, woodwinds, acoustic stringed instruments, drums and percussion instruments, and more. It offers a full-frequency response at the front of the microphone with a very controlled and predictable proximity effect.

Additionally, controls on the microphone include a -6 and -12 dB pad switch, allowing for distortion-free reproduction of extremely loud at-source signals, and a two-position -12 dB/octave low-frequency roll-off switch at 100 & 200 Hz that reduces unnecessary low-end 'boominess' and low-frequency interference.

Furthermore, it is built with a precision-tooled microphone body and a dent-resistant, stainless-steel wire-mesh windscreen, which ensures long-term reliability. The C1 comes equipped with a custom shockmount. An aluminum carry case is also included.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this mic compatible with the Sony HXR-NX3/1?

A: Yes it is. The camera will provide the phantom power that the mic requires. You might want to get these o-rings (SAROCS) to keep it in place if you mount it on the camera's mount.

Q: 2. I do high school basketball play by play with an Irigpro. Can this ART SPLITCOM Pro be used to add another Mic for a second announcer doing commentary during pauses in my play by play while still running both mics through the iRigPro?? What does this do to the sound quality? We use the MIXLR app to do all our basketball games. Thanks, Jay

A: The ART SPLITCom Pro Microphone Splitter/Combiner can be used as desired to combine two microphones into one output signal. It will not allow for individual level control of each microphone however. For a solution that does allow level control, a small mixer such as BH #ARUSBMIX4 would be suitable.

Q: 3. Can this be used to split one phantom-powered mic into 2 tracks on an audio recorder for a low safety track?

A: Yes, you can use the ART SPLITCom Pro Microphone Splitter/Combiner to split the power on a phantom powered mic.

Q: 4. Will this work with a Canon EOS T6?

A: No it will not. This is the cord you need: https://bhpho.to/2VvM0Vf

Q: 5. I want to use this microphone with a wireless pack to record in stereo. Will it plug in to a wireless pack or does it need to plug in directly to the recording device?

A: This can work with some wireless systems. Please contact us at 800-606-6969, via live chat, or at audio@bhphoto.com so we can further discuss what you are trying to record, and help you find the best solution.

Q: 6. Does this switch make a pop when turned on or off?

A: You might hear a click (not a pop) when the switch is engaged.

Q: 7. Is the Rode SmartLav compatible with iphone 8?

A: This lavalier mic will work with the iPhone 8, with the addition of an Apple Lightning to 3.5mm Headphone Jack Adapter, BH #APLAADAP.

Q: 8. Why is the matched pairs expensive than the single Nt55?

A: The matched pair comes with 2 microphones. The single NT55 comes with 1 microphone.

Q: 9. When you use this as a combiner (for example, use two microphones and mix the audio signals from the microphones in this device) can you still split the output signal into two? I just need to use two mics but amplify the sound in a monitor as well as record it in my audio recording device.

A: Thank you for your email. Once the signal is combined you are unable to split the signal output of the combiner.

Q: 10. can i make this mic cordless? is these a piece what i can add to it it should get wireless ?

A: The Senal MXGN-18C 18" Gooseneck Condenser Microphone could be wirelessly extended using a wireless system such as BH #XVU3CSET.

[Phantom Power] I've used Sennheiser e835's for more than 10 years as flatter-sounding alternatives to mid-rangey SM57's and 58's. The boosted highs seem to work along with proximity effect to give a flatter more natural sound. They're just as rugged and sound great; the cardioid pattern works well at rejecting feedback (or as well as any other mic).

[Phantom Power] Solid performer with lovely and durable fit and finish. Probably my favorite vocal microphone of all time (I have been using vocal microphones since 1968 for live music, spoken word, computer speech recognition, ham radio, and other applications. I really like the way this handles and sounds - good heft and balance in the hand - very low handling noise (much quieter than the HEIL PR-20) - this has been a real workhorse and sounds as good today as the day I purchased it. Very balanced sound across the its useful frequency range. Clear, articulate, and rugged. I am confident you will like this microphone. TT

[Cardioid] These sound really good! I used 2 of them in an interview scenario for a video and the third I used to replace a mic on a piano just to hear if it was better. Never gonna look back for either use

They are heavier than the interview mic we used before but the talent really got used to the feel and ended up not wanting to go back either. I quickly got used to the sound which was richer than the previous solutions.

[Side Address] I picked this Mic up for use in a home based performance practice room. This room is setup with Behringer EPA900 PA sound system and a TC-Helico VoiceLive3 along with several Fender guitar amps. This is my first condenser mic and I am well pleased with the sound and quality of this Mic. As mentioned, very high quality build and comes in a very nice travel carrying case and the mic itself housed in a custom wooden box that fits inside the travel case. This mic is what I was after and turning your head to look at your guitar neck does not cut down the sound output level to the degree it does with a dynamic mic. The other thing noticeable the first time you use the mic is you can sing softly and the mic picks up your voice very will where-as with a dynamic mic it would not pick up a very low voice at all. I would certainly recommend this mic to anyone wishing a professional quality sound either in a live performance of used as a studio mic for recording purposes.
