Engineered and purpose-built for high risk industries such as mining, off-shore and underground oil exploration, and the petrochemical and chemical industries, Nitecore EH1S LED Headlight for Outdoor Adventuresruns on one factory-installed 18650 battery that power the primary CREE XP-G2 S3 LED to produce three white-light outputs from a low of 22 lumens up to a max of 260 lumens. Four secondary red LEDs can be used to perform tasks while protecting night or dark-adjusted vision. The red LEDs also have two special strobe modes for increased safety. In the event the user is incapacitated, an SOS distress signal can be activated to automatically cycle through the Morse code sequence, or a location beacon can be used to signal where they are. An intuitive single pushbutton interface makes it easy to use.

Since the housing is sealed at the factory, the EH1S is able to maintain an IP68 rating to be dust and waterproof as well as submersible to 10 feet. To charge the battery, Nitecore employs a magnetic charging system that eliminates the need for an open charging port to keep water, dust, and chemicals out. Their Advanced Temperature Regulation (ATR) technology monitors the internal temperature and automatically steps down the output to prevent damage due to excessive heat.

[4 Hours] I purchased the MH41 to use as a safety device while I run. Since I run at a very early (before sunrise) time in the morning and on a road shoulder, I need reflective clothing and a good illumination and signaling device to let drivers know where I am. This light functions very well for that purpose, but it is heavy. The turbo mode is extremely bright and overall the flashlight illuminates a long way off and has an efficient spread of white light from central to edge. I don't do Search and Rescue, but I would expect that it would be useful for that purpose, since it has a signaling mode, beacon mode and the necessary brightness to light a good area of territory. The flashlight comes with two rechargeable (in the light) 18650 Nitecore Li-Ion batteries, charger, lanyard, spare tail cap, etc., so it is a good value for the price. It is also waterproof, so you can use it in the rain. I can comment on the use of this flashlight for Law Enforcement also. While it would be useful as a general-purpose flashlight, as well as a self-defense, non-lethal weapon, it is too large and heavy to carry on a duty belt. It would probably best be left on the right front seat of a cruiser during rounds. For searching indoor and outdoor areas, it is very effective, due to its versatility and throw, so it's more of a general-purpose light. The light is so bright, however, that it will probably blind anyone who looks directly into it while on turbo mode, so each agency will have to determine policy if it's to be used for non-lethal defense. The only problem I have with the light, other than its weight, is that warranty service is done in China and the light has to be sent to B&H for them to forward it to the manufacturer for warranty service. That takes lots of time, so I figure that two to three months to get the light back is realistic. 5

[ 5 to 60 Hours] Love this light. Quality, the body is solid metal, metal buttons, lcd control panel. It's got perfect beam focus (more of a flood than a spot), daylight bright if you use 12K. But the softer mode work great as well. Holds charge for a ridiculous amount of time. Super product. 5

[ 5 to 60 Hours] This little guy rocks ! It fits nicely in pants pocket, light weight, and bright. The user interface is typical of many of these type of flashlights, easy to get to know once you have 'played with it' a while. What's outstanding is the beam pattern that comes from the 4 LEDs. It's broad and very smooth, no hot spots great for close-range inspections. The instant press and release turbo mode from any brightness setting is handy. also. This is an excellent short-throw light, just don't accidently leave it on high or turbo close to anything that can melt, it gets HOT !!! 5
