Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What is the difference between the Kodak m35 and m38?

A: As far as we are aware, the difference is that the M38 has a more powerful flash and has an easier-to-use film loading mechanism.

Q: 2. Do you still need to develop the film first?

A: Yes, you need to develop the film first.

Q: 3. What is the file size for a scan from a 35mm color slide?

A: It creates a jpeg image that is 5472 x 3648 pixels (roughly 20mp). The megabytes used for each jpeg varies slightly due to the jpeg compression. But roughly speaking a 32GB card would be able to hold around 5000 or more photos.

Q: 4. Does it work with 120 format film?

A: Yes, it works with 120 film.

Q: 5. PanaVue or Wolverine F2D 120: Which is best for 120 film negs?

A: The Pana-Vue Pana-Scan 120 Transparency & Film Scanner and the Wolverine Data F2D Saturn 120 Medium Format, 35mm & 127 Film to Digital Converter are both good options. While I have not seen any side-by-side comparisons of these two items, the Wolverine option is the more popular option and does have higher resolution compared to the Pana-Vue option.

Q: 6. Is this description correct? I've never heard of 135mm film, maybe there's a typo?

A: Yes. 135 film is more popularly referred to as 35 mm film.

Q: 7. Can it scan 6x7 format?

A: Yes, the Wolverine Data F2D Saturn 120 Medium Format, 35mm & 127 Film to Digital Converter (Red) can scan 6x7cm 120 medium format film.

Q: 8. My slides are from 127 film and are mounted in aluminum frames (2x2). They are much thicker than the cardboard mounts. Will they work in this device? Second question: The 127 slides were clipped all around with the Kodak Scanza. Will I get the full size scanned image?

A: It may work, it depends how much thicker your slides are. The only way to truly know is to try it. We do have a 30 day return policy.

Q: 9. Is it cropping 35 mm film?

A: This is compatible with 35mm film so it would not crop the scan.

Q: 10. Crazy Question: Can one scan negative at two or three different density ranges and then take results from each and pin together in photoshop?. Little like HDR.

A: According to Wolverine Data, they state that the unit cannot scan at different densities. It can only scan one image at a time.

[1000 (Images)] I am an amateur photographer who shoots a lot of landscape shots. I try to do everything possible in camera to minimize my post processing time. These filters are great tool for that. I am able to expose my subject while keeping the sky from being over exposed. I highly recommend these filters.

[Blue] This printer has been around a year or so and the firmware updates are great and simple to preform. It is a solid(resin) preformer. Got it on sale and I do not see a better printer for the money. Uses open source software so you are not locked into any eco system. Any issues some have had in the past are fixed with the firmware updates. Mechanicaly sound and quiet. The wifi is a great addition; no usb sticks or cable needed.

[1000 (Images)] I've always used Cokin w/ my film 35 mm. Now I've graduated to DSLR and purchased a larger circumference lens that requires the Cokin Pro. I've added new filters to my collection too.

[Blue] I purchases these to replace my B+W filters. They're much more versatile than my existing filteres! Image quality is also great. Highly recommended.

[1000 (Images)] I use the hard filters the most in my landscape photography, especially for hard horizon lines. While the resin filters aren't as great as all my other ProGlass, LittleStopper, and BigStopper LEE filters, they server their purpose and so far I have not seen any degradation in image quality. I am producing BEAUTIFUL photographs all thanks to LEE. And it's even more fun to play with my results in post.
