Designed for use with the TX4M, the Radial Engineering Catapult RX4M is a snake which accepts four channels of mic-level signal over Cat5/Cat6 cables, and routes them into the eight XLR jacks provided. Four of the XLR channels are direct outputs, while the other four are isolated. The unit is useful in live-sound reinforcement applications, as it allows live sound stage techs to use relatively affordable cable to secure quality audio connections around large stages and venues. It’s also suitable for system contractors who can utilize the Catapult with pre-wired networks to move audio throughout disparate rooms.

The Catapult RX4M gives you 2 banks of XLR channels, each sporting four channels. Phantom power can be provided over the direct outputs (so long as a shielded Cat5/Cat6 cable is used), while the mic-level isolation provided helps in eliminating noise issues that can arise from ground loops. You’ll also note the two RJ45-type etherCON connections. One is a multi-channel input, for use with the TX4M on the transmission end. The other is a throughput, and can be implementing in routing signal to additional Catapults.

With three different destination pathways possible via the XLR banks and the etherCON throughput, you can split audio to multiple sources, if that's your desire. A ground-lift switch helps eliminate any noise issues on the Cat5/Cat6 line, while a steel handle provides easy transport, and four bumpers protect the Ethernet jacks and ground-lift switch from wear and tear.

Q: 1. IS THIS COMPATIBLE WITH LOGITECH H800 HEADSET ?

A: That headset uses Bluetooth. Here is an option for a Bluetooth dongle: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1015079-REG/asus_usb_bt400_bluetooth_v4_0_usb_2_0.html

Q: 2. Could this unit be used to split clearcom or rts units?

A: This unit is meant to split audio only, and is wired differently than communication systems. We do carry a splitter for RTS, which is the Telex TW-5W 1 In, 5 Out Splitter Box, B&H # TETW5W.

Q: 3. since this is passive, does it only output mic level? Or can the outputs also be Line level?

A: The XLR pass throughs are mic level, and the 3.5mm audio outs are line level.

Q: 4. So Bought this through B&H. I notice it does not come with an AC power Outlet... Is that the case? If so, Where do we buy it from I guess.

A: That is correct. You would have to buy the Henry Engineering Henry Engineering Multi-System Power Pod. This is the B&H part number for the Power Pod BH #HEPP.

Q: 5. Will it work with later wireless mouse 3dconnexion models?

A: This is a Universal connector with 3Dcoonexion product line of items. It does work with their newer items as well.

Q: 6. Will this work with the Adesso iMouse E10? I can't find the RCV-130R receiver that came with the mouse and need to replace it.

A: No, it will not work with the Adesso mouse. The 3Dconnexion Universal Receiver is a replacement USB wireless receiver for 3Dconnexion peripherals.

Q: 7. Does this work if any Bluetooth or wireless keyboard

A: No, this is a replacement USB wireless receiver for your 3Dconnexion peripherals.

Q: 8. Can this unit accept a direct microphone feed from a press conference without a mult box? And is it powered by batteries?

Q: 9. Is this the Pico version? Or the Nano version? The product listing shows both.

A: Logitech refers to it as the Logitech USB Unifying Receiver with Part number 910-005235. They don't mention the words Pico or Nano. It is very small and the dimensions are: Height x Width x Depth: 0.59 in (15 mm) x 0.35 in (9 mm) x 0.23 in (6 mm)

Q: 10. This system looks like a copy of the Phottix Ares system, is this receiver compatible with my Ares transmitter?

A: Unfortunately, this receiver is only compatible within the Vello FreeWave LR system and would operate on a different frequency than the Phottix Ares System.

[0.003%] Good quality metal construction, rugged cables, lossless sound. I'm extending over 110 feet with unshielded Cat5e and the sound quality is flawless.

[140 dB] I bought this for the 300’ run from my location sound cart to the video village IFB transmitter. Camera department didn’t mind it living on their cart since it’s so small, and the transmitter end fits in mixer bag nicely. It’s robust, small, noiseless, and perfectly fit the bill for my application.

[> 113 dB] I used a pair of Catapult (TX + RX) to replace some long RCA cables. Not only does the flat CAT5 cable take up less space under the carpet, but now there is less hum and buzz because the balanced outputs can be used.
