A: Yes in JBOD mode you can eject and replace a drive without disturbing the other drives.

A: This adapter is currently thunderbolt 3 to thunderbolt 2/1 connection only and is mainly used on PC to connect older thunderbolt hard drives. No macs currently support thunderbolt 3. I managed to create a 10Gb network connection between a PC and a Mac Pro using this adapter.

Q: 5. What drives do you recommend using to make archives - disks I will load up and then set aside as archives of my photo files? I am looking for less expensive drives than the WD Reds recommended here since I don't need them to perform 24/7.

A: As per the manufacturer, this is compatible with Windows XP and above; MAC OS 10.2 and above.

A: No, it only flows in one direction from TB2 device into TB3 port

A: Current qualified drives are 12TB disks (5x 12TB).

Q: 10. Can I use Pro Tools software with this?
