Q: 1. If I have a 70V distributed system and want to only control volume for one zone, can I use this as a speaker level input/output? Setup is one 120W, 70V amp with 4 70V attenuators to split into 'zones'. We would like to install the noise control after just one attenuator so we can still set base volume level (or even use this to replace a single attenuator). Trying to avoid having to use multiple amps and an expensive mixer. Thanks!

A: Hi Chris, first please accept my apologies for late answer but I hope it will help.As you describe how you want to use ANS501 ,it will not work because you cant control 70V signal with it.ANS501 accept only line input(balanced or unbalanced) so you have to put it between signal source(for eg. cd player, tuner) and 70V amp.You said you would like to install ASN501 after attenuator -this is also not possible.ANS501 electronically adjust a level of the background music in places where ambient noise levels are continuously changing so in case that you cant hear good the BGM or page announcement you have to turn att in the room louder and latter turn att lower .With ANS501 you dont have to do this because it raise up the music level automatically( microphone sensor module measure ambient noise level) ) in the zone which supply your 70V amp no matter how many 70V att you have.ANS501 raise up input signal to 70V amp and sound is higher no matter in which positions are 70V att.(except in off position-no sound). Conclusion is that you cant control 70V signal with ANS501 and you cant use it to control speaker level input/output (only when you have system with active speakers).BRKresimir PoslekAudio Video Medij

Q: 2. The ME-52W was rec. in a Pocketalker review, along with the ME-15. Wilaa this be a significant improvement over the storck Pocketalker headphones, or should I pay double and get the ME-15?

A: The Olympus ME-52W Noise-Cancelling Microphone (BH # OLME52W) should be an excellent improvement. over the stock, included microphone. We have not tested it specifically with a Williams Pocketalker, but we expect that there would be an audible improvement in the recording quality.

Q: 3. Will this work with a standard mic input on a camcorder?

A: Yes - but only if the camcorder supplies plug-in power

Q: 4. Can these headphones be used with a laptop? ( usb, or bluetooth or similar?)

A: Yes it connects directly to a laptop. No bluetooth, no USB connectivity.

Q: 5. Can we use AN-9001 with Bosch Praesidio Amplifiers? as the AVC is built in with the Power amplifiers in BOSCH.

A: Unfortunately not. The TOA AN9001 Ambient Noise Sensing Microphone is designed for use with the TOA 9000 Series Digital Matrix Mixer/Amplifiers, in commercial sound installation. The AN9001 microphone requires the AN-001T Ambient Noise Controller Module or DP-L2 processor.

Q: 6. If you're going to run an extension cord for this, what should you use?

A: The Olympus ME-52W features a mono 1/8 connector and ships with a 3.3ft extension cable. To extend further a similar mono 1/8 male to mono 1/8 female cable would be required. Unfortunately we do not offer such a cable here at B&H currently.

Q: 7. Can i use this headphones with phone?

A: These headphones can be used with a smartphone, because there is a 3.5mm stereo mini connection included, as well as the detachable 1/4 stereo adapter.

Q: 8. Does push to talk mean the default is for the mic to be off and a user needs to hold the button down when talking? Or does it toggle on and off?

A: The Bogen DDU250 Desktop Dynamic Gooseneck Microphone has a programmable switch that can be set for either push-to-lock or push-to-talk operation. Push-to-talk is a momentary function that engages the mic only when the button is pressed and held. As soon as the button is released, the mic switches off. Push-to-lock allows the switch to be locked in the on position so the mic is active until the switch is pressed again to turn the mic off.

Q: 9. How do i convert 4 wire output to xlr

A: You can contact Bogen for a wiring diagram. You can reach Bogen by phone at 800-999-2809. Their business hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM EST Monday through Friday.

Q: 10. Will this work with a GoPro Hero 4 black edition?

A: This mic may be used with the GoPro 3.5mm Mic Adapter for HERO3 / HERO3+ / HERO4 B&H # GOAMCCC. Use this adapter to connect any 3.5mm external microphone to your GoPro for enhanced audio capture. Connects any 3.5mm mic to your GoPro

[Gray] Use it in our temple podium , the 2 QSC speakers are mounted behind the podium. Usually tough to set up microphone on the podium with feedback possibilities. Could not use condenser microphone as they cause feedback every time. This dynamic microphone caused no feedback even at high volume. Like the switch on it too. Clarity is excellent. Will monitor next few weeks. If o.k. Will buy another one. Price is great .

[Omnidirectional] I am using this to record podcasts and having something like this where the host can move around naturally makes it easier to get an even level non the recording.

[0 dB to 54 dB] This microphone picks up exceptionally as we are using it. We have it mounted to a lectern and is used for a single speaker in a mid sized open auditorium. We were getting pretty bad feedback with our last mic and this one solved that issue.

[Gray] About as good as it gets for a microphone preamp. It's worth it to get this or the EC1 as a front end for your recording setup if you're in the market. The headphone mixing makes it perfect: That way you never really have to worry about buffer or latency settings in your interface. Plenty of power for all headphones (more than I've ever heard in any recording interface!) and quite clean too. (Almost too powerful for IEMS though! - it works but you may need to turn things way down though)

If you look up reviews/specs: it measures really well: you can't do any better for a clean preamp or DI. I've never been a fan of tube pres or transformer pres: but if you want that sound: the Mojo actually gets that type of sound but better anyways if you want 'tone'. (I simply just never switch it on)

The external power supply I'm not a fan of: I'd happily pay a bit more for a larger chassis and internal power supply. It's just one of those: if your cable breaks or you run it over with a chair or the pins get damaged - a replacement may not be easy to find and if you have something important to record and need to wait a week or months if this is your only preamp - that may not be what you want.

I'd suggest first buying a DPA or earthworks mic or another SDC that works great on vocals and any instrument: they make the biggest difference. Then interface as most interface preamps are pretty clean - and then one of these after that. These have more headroom and just sound a bit less compressed than most other preamps (easier to hear with IEMS) but a microphone and placement is obviously more important. Though the 0 latency headphone monitoring might actually be quite important too - to make sure you get a good take?

Either way - the EC1 or EC2 are great!

[Omnidirectional] There are not many reasonably priced gooseneck mics on a base with press-to-talk and lock-on as well. There are 5 conuctors including shield, two for remote switching to duck background music in a paging application. That's what I'm using it for. It sounds good, no feedback. I couldn't ask for more

[Gray] Bought 8 of these guys for our school's theater to balance out the existing sound system. I'm very pleased with the lows, mids and highs. They have a very full sound.

[0 dB to 54 dB] We use this product to allow the preacher to leave the pulpit and to be heard especially, during powerpoint presentations. This is our second Bogen mic. Very satisfied.

[Gray] When every single one of my suppliers was on backorder, B&H Had it in stock and was only charging $ more than my suppliers! Added to that i got free shipping on it so it came out to as cheap as buying from my normal suppliers. This is a solid microphone and works well in a studio PA environment. The fact that it comes with no ends soldered on but already pre-tinned makes it that much nicer! I can get to the business of terminating and installing instead of cutting un-used ends off and re-stripping/tinning. Thanks B&H!
